It looks as though that was the way it was made~to me. The thin black tires are worn down in spots, revealing the wire/metal that makes the wheel. The back of the buggy/carriage folds down(shown in picture) the front foot resting raises as well. In pausing to check over the buggy, to ensure the description is to the best of my ability~I have just discovered that the buggy folds up entirely.as if you are folding a stroller. Since I cannot add another picture without deleting one~if you are interested in this item, I will gladly send the picture of it folded to your email. The handle to push the buggy is weathered. It due to it's age naturally has the fading or rubbed down spots of the wood, markings, a couple slight cracks(not open) The wicker on the sides of this item, has only a couple little pieces of wicker missing(in two spots& they are not big) It's a beautiful piece, however keep in mind that it's still fragile. Some of the features include: a foot pedal brake, the carriage itself swivels on the frame, the bassinet rotates approximately 160 degrees, the base platform within the carriage has an attached hinged headrest support for range of movement. I believe all of these features are distinguishable from the photos included for this listing. I have examined this doll carriage thoroughly and have not been able to distinguish any markings, stampings or other discernable aspects relating to the manufacturer. When taking the photos, I attempted to display the carriage showing all pertinent characteristics that a potential buyer may be interested in. I made sure to display the unit with any potential problem areas displayed, such as the tires and bottom frame- showing the most noticable wear areas of the hardened rubber tires. This doll carriage was originally purchased or made for my aunt. The dating was determined from other family members who have discussed this at great length. My mother had always admired this carriage during the period of time in which she was becoming acquainted with my father. The point of origin would be northeastern Ohio. Antique Victorian wicker doll baby buggy or pram. The buggy is in very good condition. The wicker is intact along with the pie shaped celluloid windows on each side of the buggy. It measures 29 inches long, 13 1/2 inches wide and 30 inches tall. The inside of the buggy measures 9 inches wide and 20 1/2 inches long. The brake mechanism is in working order. It has a steel frame, steel springs, a wooden handle, and steel foot brake. Also a reclining back. The rubber on the wheels has oxidized and is very hard. The rubber on one of wheel has broken off. It was found at an estate sale of a local antique dealer who may have added the newer upholstery. The carriage body with its fanciful curvy lines is constructed of woven wicker with a turned wood handle. Everything else is metal. The metal wheels with hard rubber rims work quite smoothly. Pictured in the ... more5th photo above is a mechanism behind the seat that controls the raising and lowering of the foot rest and seat back. There is also a parasol holder with a screw to hold it in place. Dimensions are about 40" long for the carriage with the foot rest extended and 36” with the foot rest folded back x 19" wide carriage and 24” wheel to wheel width x 36-3/4" tall(including handle) All four wheels have a diameter is 14” It weighs about 30 pounds. This buggy is in original condition with the exception of the newer upholstered side cushions. Those cushions need some attention as they are a bit loose fitting. The wicker is quite good with only a few broken reeds in the woven bottom seat along with some minor surface soiling. A slight warp to the foot rest can be seen in the photo above. Please check all photos carefully. And let me know if you want more. There is also surface oxidation and rust on the metal parts and paint loss on the handle. The inside of the buggy is made of a black canvas as is the hood. The buggy stands approx. 11" high and it is 10" from the end of the handle to the back of the hood. The bed of the buggy is 3" deep and 6" wide. The wheels are in excellent working condition. The buggy has no tears or cracks visible. This great old sleigh measures approximately 38 inches overall length x 31 inches from bottom of runner to top of handle. The basket measure approximately 12 inches wide at widest point x 27 1/2 inches long. The deepest point in the basket is approximately 10 inches. The wooden handle is approximately 10 1/2 inches long. The black lining is in very good condition. Fasteners holding liner to wicker body are antique. It has a steel frame with a wooden handle that has a lot of rust due to it's age. There is rubber on the steel rimmed wooden spoke wheels, the rubber has a lot of wear. Antique/Shabby Metal Doll Buggy/Stroller/Carriage/Unique Outdoor Planter!!
This is a very old metal carriage that I used for a planter. I had my husband drill holes in the bottom for drainage and used a horsehair liner. I had petunias in it one year. Impatiens the next and so on. Just way too cute! The buggy does roll but the wheels are loose(but still attached) and the rubber"tires" are aged and shabby as is the rest of the buggy. Measures 19" tall to top of bonnet, 22.5" tall to top of handle,16" wide at the sides, 8.5" wide at the front. This is a lightweight carriage. I think the vinyl bonnet should be treated with Armor All before another season's use. I was also going to paint the handle red but it's a fine, weathered black. Antique White Wicker DOLL Buggy. Complete with Pink Bedding- Description: This baby doll buggy stroller is in good condition. The basket is woven wicker and the paint is original ivory. The frame is black iron and the hardware is also black. The hood on the basket is adjustable so you can see into the basket from either end. The hood has two peep holes on the sides. So mom can catch a glimpse of the little one. There is an adjustable catch panel inside the basket as well so the baby can lay back further. Good wicker condition. Metal frame very slightly crooked; only noticeable from the front. Paint appears to be original; it would benefit from a touch-up but I wanted to keep it's character. The wheels are wood with hard rubber rims. There is a locking mechanism for the wheels. Push the pedal by the back wheels down and the front wheels ... morewill lock in place. The handle has a wood grip in the center of the bar. This buggy is in every good condition for its age. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. It is a little off center but that doesn't affect its' use. This piece measures 26 inches tall, 12 inches side to side and 27 inches front to back. It can be disassembled for shipping.

Antique/Vintage Carriage Stroller Doll Buggy (Base Only)
Check out this nice old doll baby carriage foundation. Everything you need except for the basket! If you have the basket then you need this base with handle. Wheels and hubcaps to complete your project. Mounting board measures 12 inches long by 7 inches wide. of 4 screws are original and two holes where the basket would mount have not screws in them. All 4 wheels are 7 inches across with the hubcaps attached. the spokes are all there and the hard rubber on the wheels is in pretty good shape with a few dings and the shrinkage you see over a great amount of time. The bottom remnants of the original wicker basket are still visible on both sides of the base. The metal frame and wooden handle are in good shape with some paint chips. Frame is sturdy and not bent out of the original shape. There is some visible oxidation on the metal but not out ... moreright rust anywhere. A good cleaning on this base would really go a long way! Up for sale is a blast from the past: A 1950's baby-doll stroller. Plaid-striped red and white hooded/canopy and seat. Made of vinyl plastic with a steel frame and aluminum finish. It does have condition issues(see all pictures) but over all in good condition for being 60+ years old. There is rust on the metal. T he fringe on the canopy is dirty and the vinyl needs cleaning. 11 1/2" diameter with the hub having a 1/2" diameter center hole. Hub is 2 3/8" in depth. Paint on the wooden hubs and spokes is original and sort of a yellowish cream with one side being accented with red striping. Rubber on the tires is good with one having about a 3/16" separation between the rubber joint. Rims are steel. They're pretty nice. Antique baby doll stroller,carriage,buggy,circa 1870
This circa 1870s doll stroller is in really good shape for the year it was made. The body is made of rattan wicker and wood. Wheels are made from Brentwood metal with steel rims.The canopy is made of canvas. Also the canopy opens and closes. From top of canopy to bottom of wheels measures 35' the basket measures 23' long, 15' wide, the handle to the back of the basket measures 40' long. This stroller has been one of the most favorite conversation pieces in my home for years due to the strange way it looks. Stroller is in great shape, no rips, tears, broken wicker. It has been taken care of very well. Cleaned only with warm cloth to remove dust, never cleaned with any chemicals. Definitely worthy of toy museum.In 1870s it sold for $1.50 I recently had it appraised by a good friend, she told me it is worth 250.00 today. I am ... moreasking half of that 125.00. Antique O.W. Siebert Wicker Perambulator, Baby Carriage, Large Doll Size Pram
This auction is for an antique large doll size pram made by the"O.W. Siebert Co" of Gardner. Massachusetts. It is in good working condition however there is some damage to the wicker on the front of the pram(as seen in photos)and the inside shows signs of age but it is all original. The rubber tires with wood spoked wheels roll easily and the hood and footwell adjust as designed. Even the brake/wheel lock still operates correctly. Over the years we have used this lovely piece as an end table. Plant stand, a display for antique dolls and even as a baby carriage for our daughter as she was quite small. It could be restored if desired be we have always enjoyed it as is and believe it makes a more authentic statement in all it's original glory. Please see photos for further description.
