I was invited, with others, to tender for the job of clearing a bungalow and adjacent outbuildings prior to their sale, I viewed the premises, submitted my offer and promptly forgot about it. As I remember, the job was a dual application where the bungalow and the buildings had to be valued and priced separately. Some very stringent specifications were imposed as to when the work could commence, vehicular and pedestrian access and a whole rainbow of minor regulations. However, my tender ticked all the right boxes for just one part of the job. This was to empty and remove the contents of the outbuildings. Frankly, I was overjoyed at this news as it was closer to the main road, had easier access and was far less labour intensive and of course as ... moreeveryone knows, stuff dumped in sheds and garages is invariably'out of favour and no longer required' To verify this last statement the buildings did contain a lot of'junk' but also some very collectable and saleable goods even though some of them were seriously outmoded. Many toys and models in varying states of repair were recovered. Some were construction jobs as in Meccano, others as yet un-made, were in the form of ships and boats. Some toys were boxed and almost new. Others, as in the case of the model aircraft, had all been built many years ago and well flown. Musical instruments of various types were recovered. These, according to an executive who was present at the time, had all been used and passed down the family over the years. Suffice it to say, a lot of useful items were recovered, some as old as Adam himself and others in between! My intention was to offer them in time for Christmas but due to pressure of business it would appear that I have left it a tad late. You will have to bear with me on this latest venture… This item is a workable object as opposed to a decorative item. In this neck of the woods one can see a lot of these small type of wheels

Civil War Era wood/metal wheelchair handhewn spoked wheels Steampunk Reenactment
This is by far my most unusual auction. Living right here in Civil War land. York PA; 30 minutes from Gettysburg, I found these to be especially interesting. This auction is for two oak wheels with cast iron races from a wheelchair made during the Civil War Era. The gentleman who owned them prior to me. Had the whole chair but it had met with an unfortunate accident in years prior. He did salvage the wheels however. The hand rim measures 24" diameter and the riding wheel 28" in diameter. When they are assembled with the iron axle. The length or height is 29" Please look closely at these wheels. There are a couple of repaired splits and tape marks. Also. I left the tape on the hand rail wheels. It appears it may have been used for traction. Awesome looking table or other steampunk decor. EARLY SILVER SALT CELLAR OR TEA CADDY, RICKSHAW w SPOKED WHEELS & WOOD SHAFTS
This is an old silver salt cellar or tea caddy. It is in the form of a rickshaw with rolling spoked wheels and wood(possibly horn) shafts; has hinged lid with knob covering 2 x 2 1/4 x 3 inch(approx 230 ml) box; dimensions = 7 inches length. 4 1/2 inches height, 4 1/4 inches width. It has no maker or assay marks; was tested for silver by a local jeweler; is about 11 ounces. 2 - Antique Wood Spoked Buggy Wheels
Up for bids are two antique buggy wheels with ten wood spokes. An iron hub and an iron rim with a hard rubber tread as pictured. Both wheels measure 12 1/2" wide across the middle and are made to fit on a 1/2" diameter axle or spindle. The wheels are in good solid condition with no breaks in the wooden spokes which just show wear to the original brown paint leaving the wood underneath exposed and the iron hubs and rims have a nice dark rusted patina. The rubber tread on both wheels have hardened and shrunk with age leaving a gap where the ends were originally cut and bonded together as seen in the pictures. Otherwise both wheels are in very nice condition.

Set of Vintage Wood and Metal Spoked Wheels, Wagon or Cannon Parts
These old wheels were going to be used for a small cannon in the front yard but we never got to it. Now because of poor health it will never happen so we are selling them. They are 20 inch wheels with 12 spokes each. The spokes are rather ornate. They have a metal band that bends around 1 side of the wheel. Please see the pictures. They are in fairly good shape for their age. With a little imagination they could prove to be very useful. They are 3 inches wide and very sturdy. They weigh about 20 lbs each.

The set includes four wheels, two front measuring 11 inches in diameter and two rear measuring 13 inches in diameter. These wheels were made by Kroll AB. Each wheel is constructed with 10 individual wood spokes that are fitted into a steel rim. The tire are hard rubber and fitted into the rim. The axles measure approx. 7/16 inch shaft hole. They have some age to them, estimate late 1800's/early 1900's. In overall good condition with some age.
