Dimensions are about 40" long for the carriage with the foot rest extended and 36” with the foot rest folded back x 19" wide carriage and 24” wheel to wheel width x 36-3/4" tall(including handle) All four wheels have a diameter is 14” It weighs about 30 pounds. This buggy is in original condition with the exception of the newer upholstered side cushions. Those cushions need some attention as they are a bit loose fitting. The wicker is quite good with only a few broken reeds in the woven bottom seat along with some minor surface soiling. A slight warp to the foot rest can be seen in the photo above. I got it from a lady who was about 65 and said shes had it since she was a kid. It is about 11.5 inches tall by about 5 inches wide by about 10 inches long at its longest point. Antique WICKER BABY CARRIAGE BUGGY STROLLER Victorian c1880s Spoke Wheels Nice! ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WICKER BABY STROLLER This antique wicker stroller is show stopper and wonderful display piece. The wicker is in nice condition. The undercarriage is metal with wooden spoked wheels. It has an adjustable back which does work. The foot brake is present but seems to be rusty and does not want to work correctly. The front right wheel has had the rubber replaced. The front left wheel has some chinks out of the rubber. The wheels do turn and you can push the carriage if desired. The handle is a turned wood. The seat has been recovered and we are including the matching ruffled seat blanket. The carriage itself is set on four black wheels- two smaller wire spoke wheels are in the front, while two larger ones of a similar design are in the back. The wheels(and undercarriage) seem to be crafted out of metal in such a way that they resemble antique wrought iron. The Basket itself is done in a warm wood hue and features a moth- almost butterfly or dragonfly- design. The convertible top appears to the casual observer to be made from a waxed black fabric or oil cloth. If you have a doll collection or have kept your favorite dolls from childhood or antiquity, a doll carriage like this oftentimes makes a better display piece in an adult's home than a plaything for a child. Antique 1900's Victorian baby carriage / stroller - Geo W. Travers, NYC
You are looking at a Victorian era antique wicker baby stroller by Geo W. Travers of New York City. I'm not sure exactly what year this was made. However after doing some internet research, it seems that it's from the early 1900's. I purchased this lovely piece at a Victorian antique store in Belvidere, New Jersey about 14 years ago. Years ago, it was once painted and the paint was removed some time after that as you can see from the detail in the photos. The bottom lifts up as you can see between photo 1 and photo 2. Everything is all original and I have done nothing to this piece as to not affect the antique value of it. The wheels are green with black rubber on them. Slightly worn but not badly at all. The manufacturer's name plate is located on the back and you can see the detail of that in the photograph. Obviously. Antique/Shabby Metal Doll Buggy/Stroller/Carriage/Unique Outdoor Planter!!
This is a very old metal carriage that I used for a planter. I had my husband drill holes in the bottom for drainage and used a horsehair liner. I had petunias in it one year. Impatiens the next and so on. Just way too cute! The buggy does roll but the wheels are loose(but still attached) and the rubber"tires" are aged and shabby as is the rest of the buggy. Measures 19" tall to top of bonnet, 22.5" tall to top of handle,16" wide at the sides, 8.5" wide at the front. This is a lightweight carriage. I think the vinyl bonnet should be treated with Armor All before another season's use. I was also going to paint the handle red but it's a fine, weathered black.
