The seat itself is still in tact, I just want to mention it is weathering.it is a thin type of wood or wicker and is raising(weathering) It is not broken or cracked, however there is a small gap on one side~which you can see in the one pic(zoom in) and it will be the left side of your view. It looks as though that was the way it was made~to me. The thin black tires are worn down in spots, revealing the wire/metal that makes the wheel. The back of the buggy/carriage folds down(shown in picture) the front foot resting raises as well. In pausing to check over the buggy, to ensure the description is to the best of my ability~I have just discovered that the buggy folds up entirely.as if you are folding a stroller. Since I cannot add another picture without deleting one~if you are interested in this item, I will gladly send the picture of it folded to your email. The handle to push the buggy is weathered. It due to it's age naturally has the fading or rubbed down spots of the wood, markings, a couple slight cracks(not open) The wicker on the sides of this item, has only a couple little pieces of wicker missing(in two spots& they are not big) It's a beautiful piece, however keep in mind that it's still fragile. It's no longer crisp fresh wicker/wood. The coloring is fading/weathering throught the whole buggy~naturally giving it, it's antique unique look. These two items are as they were for years~together. For as long as I can remember this very interesting doll, sat in this buggy. These are pieces from my late Grandmother's doll collection. I have decided to not seperate them, they are sold as a pair. Looks like the interior lining is missing(as seen in first pic) but these can be easily re-lined by an experienced doll collector/restorer. The Genuine Taylor Tot Antique Vtg. Metal/Wood Baby Stroller - Restoration/Parts
I have here another rare find! It’s The Genuine Taylor Tot Stroller made by the Frank F. Taylor Company in Ohio. The wheels are signed) I don’t know what year this model is. But it looks to be more complete than many I’ve seen. It does have the metal foot tray which I know is hard to find these days. It also came with some sort of collapsible canopy which I’ve not seen before. I’m assuming it goes with this stroller– but I haven’t figured out how to attach it. So it’s possible something is missing(parts or simply know-how) that would make attaching it feasible. The zipper on the canopy does work. Though. The stroller also has all 4 wheels and they function just fine. And it has its original wood seat. Please note the fabric is just about worn to a frazzle. I had more pictures– but I couldn’t include them all because I exceeded the maximum# ... moreallowed. But there are rips and tears in it. The staples have pulled out in several places, and, of course, it’s very faded. The chrome is surprisingly in pretty good shape. The stroller does fold up to an extent. I tried to show this in my pictures. But I don’t know if it folds up anymore than you see pictured– or if I just didn’t know what I was doing. That technique might take some practice. J This would certainly be a fantastic piece to restore or to use for parts in your other restorations. You choose. It has wear from age and use and has not had any cleaning, polishing, or repairs. The fabric(vinyl-like canvas) is has holes both in the bonnet and in the bottom, has stains, and is worn, brittle, and dirty. The metal has worn paint and corrosion. One of the wood pieces that the wheel connects to is broken. There is some split wood on the bent wood(picture 10) and the rest of the wood is soiled, scuffed, and scraped. The paint on the wheels is worn and scraped. One side of the stroller doesn't stay up, so when open, that side sags. The bonnet doesn't stay up. There is some normal waring in the vinyl of the canopy and the seat but otherwise awesome. No major damage or cracks. All the snaps and straps are in place– fenders look awesome. White tires are dirty but solid. Really cool old stroller! It measures 38” from the handle to the floor. The seat measures 11” X 11” and is 15” tall in the back. It is 19” wide at the wheels.
