It has rolled sides and so me scrolls. It is in as-found condition and could use a bit of restoration or you could leave it just as is and it would make a wonderful display stroller for old bisque dolls or old teddy bears. Could use some glue on the back rest but the wicker itself is in remarkable condition considering how old it is and having n e ver been painted. The cushions are old and filled with excelsior. Obvioiusly. This old buggy is not perfect so please buy it as shown. It is really quite impressive in person and quite large. Rough measurements are about 45" long. 20" wide, 35" to top of handle. The back wheels are a big 22" in diame ter and the front wheels are 14" The wheels roll freely and smoothly. The undercarriage is metal with some old green paint and maybe some white pin striping.not sure. The parasol holder is on the handle. THERE ARE 25+ PICTURES PLEASE CHECK ALL OF THEM! Antique Victorian Child's Baby Carriage Buggy Stroller Dated 1877& Signed Description This is an exquisite Antique Victorian Baby Stroller with its original umbrella frame and attachment. All parts are original including the reclining seat. The seat upholstery has been professionally recovered without removing the original fabric or stuffing( this was done due to excessive fraying of the original fabric) The feet area tapestry is original and still intact( does show wear) The original umbrella was also recovered over the old fabric due to torn& worn original fabric. The umbrella is adjustable and all the mechanisms are intact and working. The best part of this beautiful stroller is the great condition of the carriage body& frame work and the fact that it still has the manufactures dated plaque attached to the back of the stroller ... moreseat( see photos) Manufactured by the Downing Carriage Co. Erie, PA. Patents range from 1877 to 1883. The front part of the stroller is surrounded by ornate spindles and ornately shaped cane. Which forms a heart shape design along all three sides. The two sides of the stroller also have metal safety rails attached. The outer sides of the stroller seat are oak wood framed with tightly woven wicker panels that are all intact with no holes present. The side pins that hold the seat in an upright position are present. These pins can be removed to lay the baby down. The child’s strap-in leather belt is also present; however. One end is missing a short piece of the strap; both buckles are present. The front two side wheels measure 20" in diameter and are all wood with metal rims. The two back side wheels measure 22" in diameter and are also all wood with metal rims. There is one tin hub cap missing on the left front wheel( decorative only. Does not affect the function of the wheel or stroller- see photo) The push handle is all solid oak. Ornately shaped with metal tin caps on the ends. Displaying a doll collection. Or pushing your little angel around town. Update: I had a local seamstress sew a beautiful new cover for the parasol with lace. See new photos. And I will include the old pattern with the carriage. But this really made a wonderful addition to this carriage. The material is free floating and not sewn into the umbrella. And this could be done for a tighter fit. But this way the material is not under stress for display. The material looks to all be original and complete with both sides. Bottom and back. The buggy measures 35" inches tall without the adjustable& folding parasol. The length with the footrest to the ... morehandle is 42" inches long and the width is widest part of the back wheels which measures 22 1/4" inches wide. The footrest is free and adjustable back support allows for the seat to lay down for a bed. The carriage rolls freely and easily and is a black steel frame. And the carriage has a foot brake that holds firm. The frame of the parasol is complete without any damage and a unique folding design. A true survivor and a beautiful piece of American history and one sure to get all the right attention. Condition is great with just two minor repairs besides the parasol cover and lace with will need repairing or replacing. The reattaching the wicker side foot panel(or leave it off) And there is a little bow to the one foot rest sides from the side panel being off. The material on the parasol is new(see update above) So the only damage is on the wicker footrest where one of the sides have come off and these two pieces are included in the sale for reattaching. The wicker weave has loosened up a bit and may need to be re-attached at edges, rubber wheels have a few cracks, the curved area where the child's feet rest is coming loose, you can see the nails up above where it was attached to, and may need to be re-attached. I will be removing the handle for shipping and my husband said that the bolts will probably break when I remove them, so be aware that those 4 bolts may not be original, I don't know yet. From an Estate we have an American genuine antique Victorian doll carriage from the late 1800s or early 1900s with Victorian style Doll. The doll is a Bradley collectible doll from the 1980's. She is dressed in vintage clothing. Her dress is soft yellow lace and she has a matching hat. Parasol, knickers and leather lace up shoes. She is the perfect compliment for this awesome antique coll carriage. Made in the late 1800s this is a wicker"convertible" carriage. It was made in this smaller version for Victorian girls to model their mothers' behavior with their dolls. The carriage goes from sitting to laying down with the aid of a lever and was advertised as being a GO CART. I recieved this from an antique site: The Bloch Go Cart Co. was formed in 1897. First selling hooded strollers. Their showroom was in Phila. Pa. and their factory was in Egg Harbor. N.J. They used a lot of Fiber to make their pieces. They produced a lot of wicker in the 1920's. They were not so high quality as Heywood Bros.and Wakefield Co. This is indeed pretty rare. If you consider that they may have used less quality materials. There is one small area of wicker missing, it is in the lower back and is not visible when a doll is in the bed. The wheels are 10 inch metal spokes with a hard rubber tire. The carriage is about 30 inches tall. 18 inches wide and about 34 inches long. The case of Mr. George Peachey, who was sujmmoend the other day before Mr. Knox at Marlborough-street, will, we trust, be a sufficient warning to those who venture to encroach upon our rights in this respect. Mr. Hetton, of Twickenham, the complainant in the case in question, said that on the 25th of July, he was walking through Rathbone-place with two friends when the defendant drove a perambulator against him. On being remonstrated with, the defendant told him he ought to get out of the way. The complainant replied that if the defendant ran against him ... morehe should charge him with assault. The defendant thereupon caleld him a blackguard, used the most abusive language to him and his friends, and a second and third time ran the perambulator purposely against him. The defendant, refusing to give his name and address, witness gave him into custody. The perambulator was a large one, and took up nearly the whole of the pavement. The case being clearly proved against the defendant, Mr. Knox observed that it was monstrous to take up the pavement with these perambulators, some of which were of large dimensions. The pavement was for passengers, not for vehicles of this kind. He refused to look closely into the charges and counter-charges of rough language; the evidence had made it clear that the defendant was pushing a perambulator on the pavement, where he had no business, and that he drove it against the complainant. Beautiful Victorian era wicker Heywood Brothers baby carriage. In good condition for its age. It comes with the parasol, which is in very shabby condition. There are 2 small breaks in the wicker that can hardly be seen, but probably can be repaired. History/details about this carriage. Given me by the"wicker woman" on Allexperts.com: You have an excellent representation of the Victorian era baby carriage or perambulator"pram" there! It was made between the late 1880s-1898 and has its original upholstery and original stained rattan reed ball and stick framework and embellishments. The wire wheels are indicative of an older piece. As is the parasol holder in the back by the handlebar. Antique Victorian Heywood Wicker Baby Carriage buggy stroller Parasol 1850
This listing is for a beautiful Antique Victorian Wa kefield Wicker B aby C arriage with Parasol. It was manufactured by Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company of Gardner Mass. My research indicates that this style carriage appeared around 1850. It is in good condition for its age. The only damage to the wicker is on the top back rest. See pic. Also someone started to do a restoration job on it and removed all the material from the inside of the carriage down to bare wood. 3 of the wheels are original wood wheels. One wheel is a replacement metal wheel. I also have a 5th metal wheel as a spare. The parasol has many moth holes in it but it's still amazing that it's still intact. Adorable doll buggy/stroller. This is very old wicker with steel wheels and rubber tires. The top of the buggy flips over to make a stroller for the doll. This is in pretty good condition as it sits or can be refurbished. The handle and frame is great. The wheels are solid and strong. The wicker is in pretty good condition there is a spot on the buggy bed that is barley beginning to fray. Super cute and I WILL ship!See pics. The paint is thinning all over. The pad in the pram is pretty good. Needs cleaning. The frame and wheels good. This is a good starter for refurbishing or an as is good patina item for antique displays. Age is not known for sure.

Vintage Victorian style German Baby Doll Carriage Stroller and Bisque Doll
Vintage German Victorian style repro circa 1970's doll carriage/ stroller/ pram- and bisque doll. I do not know the maker or the age of the little bisque doll. Doll and carriage are in good condition. The wheels are made of wood in the middle and cast iron rims. The bed is made of wood with a pretty wicker design, cloth liner, cast iron frame, the canopy is made of cast iron with a cloth liner, it does not push down, may have to oil the hinge, the handle is wooden the rest is cast iron. The stroller is used, the cast iron has some surface rust, the carriage is a little dusty, but other than that it is in solid good condition, the wheels turn good. The stroller measures, 8 3/4" tall, without the canopy, 13 3/4" tall with the canopy, 9 1/2" long, 6" wide.
