OLD PRIMITIVE PIG HEAD WICKER CARRIAGE– NO RESERVE! This is a gorgeous hard-to-find display piece for any folk art or doll/bear collection! I purchased this unusual and whimsical old buggy at an antique show some time ago. It’s the cutest buggy I’ve seen in my travels! The dealer had it in his personal collection for years and said it was antique folk art. I don’t know much about buggies and I can’t verify the age. But I can tell it definitely has some age. As an antique bear collector I was immediately drawn to it. As I have never seen one like it before and it made for a great teddy display! See photo above of bears displayed in buggy(note: bears are not included in this auction) The dealer, on the other hand, said he kept it in his dining room filled with dried flowers. I’m sure that looked good too. Whatever the use, it’s great on display ... morealone or filled with something interesting. The pig head is carved wood and it has a great dark primitive look with red painted eyes. Nose and mouth. The buggy is made of wood and wicker with an iron frame. It has lots of rust on the metal areas and the wheels are a combination of metal and wood. The wicker carriage is lined with an oil cloth type of canvas held down with tiny rusty nails. The underside is a little scratched up and there are no makers marks on it. Dimensions: It measures 25” from the curved handle to the pig’s snout- 17” from handle down to the surface. 18” from snout to the end of the wicker basket. The basket itself is 14” long by 7” at it’s widest point. The pig’s head is about 5” long. Condition Report: This buggy is in very good condition. The wheels all turn fine and this buggy is tight and sturdy. There is some rust and patina and a build up of dust and dirt around the wheels. Etc. There is also wear on the left side of the handle(as seen in photo) but otherwise it’s strong, sturdy with no odors or any serious issue. There are no tags.The wicker. is in great condition and all the mechanical pieces work good brakes, bed recliner, etc. There is a neat hidden compartment under the mattress on the inside of the carriage and the sliding door on it looks to be original as well. Up for sale we have a very rare vintage baby carriage. It is estimated to be from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It has metal framing. Metal wheels, with a wooden body, there is a pad where the baby would normally lay. and if you lift it up there are springs underneath, it has a leather hood. This particular carriage carries a unique crest on the side. It also displays a great deal of what looks like hand carving/wood scallops on the sides of the carriage. I asked an antique dealer and he suggested this possibly belonged to a wealthy family. He also explained that the more decorative ones were often special ordered and made personally for certain wealthy families. This is a"rare baby carriage" that looks great for its age. I have had this carriage for many years. and I have yet to find one as exceptionally unique as this ... moreone. Taylor Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. One of the nation's major manufacturers of toys is the Frank F. Taylor Co. Inc. 2801 Highland Avenue, Norwood, Ohio, maker of the nationally famous"Taylor-Tot" baby walkers, tricycles, and ... moretoy bicycles. Strollers similar to the Taylor Tot have a history going back to the twenties. The earliest versions had a handle which was attached at the front. So that the stroller was pulled rather than pushed. By the fifties the handle had developed imaginatively, and was not only removable, but also formed a second seat, behind the first, which was useful for another toddler, or for a bag of groceries. Remove the handles and the floor pan, you have a"walker" that a youngster could push himself around in. Competing companies made versions of this stroller. But most were virtually identical to this one. All had the beads in front, painted or stained wood at first, later replaced by plastic) a metal play or snack tray, some sort of wire bumper in front, and usually in back, a wooden seat, and a removable stamped metal foot tray. Antique Wood Tone Wicker Doll Buggy from 1950's
This special wicker doll buggy is a work of art and carted many"baby dolls" around my farm in northern Minnesota when I was a child. The four wheels are metal with tiny rubber tires and the frame is metal with a woven wicker hood and deep body. There are red. White and blue designs on each side of the body. The doll buggy is well preserved, however, I am elderly and would like for this collectible doll buggy to have a new home.

This carriage is 23" tall at the handlebars and total length is 25" The actual carriage is 19" long. The big wheel is 12 1/4" tall and the small wheel is 8" There is some wicker damage at the arms and some of the pieces are here. This is from the 1890's. I am asking $125.00 as appraised. 2 - Antique Wood Spoked Buggy Wheels
Up for bids are two antique buggy wheels with ten wood spokes. An iron hub and an iron rim with a hard rubber tread as pictured. Both wheels measure 12 1/2" wide across the middle and are made to fit on a 1/2" diameter axle or spindle. The wheels are in good solid condition with no breaks in the wooden spokes which just show wear to the original brown paint leaving the wood underneath exposed and the iron hubs and rims have a nice dark rusted patina. The rubber tread on both wheels have hardened and shrunk with age leaving a gap where the ends were originally cut and bonded together as seen in the pictures. Otherwise both wheels are in very nice condition.

The set includes four wheels, two front measuring 11 inches in diameter and two rear measuring 13 inches in diameter. These wheels were made by Kroll AB. Each wheel is constructed with 10 individual wood spokes that are fitted into a steel rim. The tire are hard rubber and fitted into the rim. The axles measure approx. 7/16 inch shaft hole. They have some age to them, estimate late 1800's/early 1900's. In overall good condition with some age.

1920s Family Antique Wood Wheels Green Wicker Baby Buggy Stroller PICKUP Ohio
We are not antique collectors. But instead have some family items to part with due to clearing their estate. This buggy held my father and his siblings who were all born in the early 1920s- and WWII veterans. It could be FA Whitney Carriage Company but no markings on it that we can find- so don't know the manufacturer. There is a name plate inside the seat area. But it is blank or it was painted over. It measures approx. 45" length from handle to end; handle height is 36" From floor to top of hood is approx. 40" Width of baby buggy is 19" Wood Wheels are 13.5" diam The wood wheel spokes and wood have hard rubber tire and have lots of wear left in them. A real nice piece that moves well. Has a foot brake that works perfectly, and the adjustable carriage hood moves back and forth. Also the baby's seat is adjustable ... moreto a reclining position.
