Antique baby doll stroller, carriage. Very nice, ornate and well built.
Up for sale is a beautiful antique baby stroller/carriage. It`s mainly constructed of wicker. But there is some metal integrated in it as well. The wheels mimic the old style wagon wheels. This is more intricate and built better than most other strollers. The only damage to this piece is with a piece of wicker that has flexed but NOT snapped all the way through. I have tried to capture it the best I could in the last pic. The stroller is about 25 inches tall and 26 inches wide. The wheels spin freely and are attached good.nothing flimsy. I have put a bear in it with a helmet for scale. This would make a good addition to any doll collection. Any photographer could use this as a prop as well. Antique Wicker Baby Carriage Buggy Pram~Converts to Stroller~WOW!
You are bidding on an AWESOME estate find in this antique wicker baby carriage. Full size.not for dolls) As you can see in the pictures. It converts to a stroller, both flat and with head elevated and dropped footrest. Although not without some flaws. It is in amazing condition for its age! I find no broken wicker. The wheels and fenders give it a real"Cadillac Elegance" look. The wheels are 7 1/2" diameter and have the original Westland rubber tires. The wheels HAVE been painted on the outside surface, but this is the only"restoration" I find. The wooden surfaces had all been originally painted yellow, and this paint is flakiing off.A LOT! The steel handle easily disconnects from the buggy for storage. And is rubber-coated across the top. The hood also easily disconnects. The steel undercarriage is also painted yelllow. ... moreAnd also flaking off. Two wheels have the original leather strap connection, one has NO connection, and the other is held together with twine. The worst flaw I find is that there is a wooden support bar across the hood. And this is broken. It lies between the wicker and the plastic lining, so to repair it would require removing the lining. You can't see it, and it does not alter the look of the buggy except for where the lining is drooping somewhat in that area where it was attched to the bar. The steel hub caps and fenders have suffered some corrosion over the years. Some places worse than others. As can be seen in the 10th picture. There is an expandable pouch at the foot of the buggy for storage(diapers, bottles, etc. The rest of the pictures show the underside. This comes with the original straw-filled mattress. And original ticking, although I doubt you would want to use it for a baby! One side is in fine shape. The other side has a hole in the tickiing, and also shows staining. Mattress measures 26" x 14" Measurements are: 36" from front to back; hood measures 18" wide. Height is 32" to top of hood. I am not an antique dealer. But I have

The bed of this pram has spring hooks so that if you remove them allows you to take the bed part of the pram off so you can set it down on any flat surface. The stroller itself measures approx. 28" tall x 34" long x 17" wide. The wheels are all metal and rubber. There are four of them. They measure approx. 7" in diameter. Overall this Pram is in good vintage condition. There are no large visible rips or tears to the material. There are a few areas on the hood and bed where the material has worn and has very small tears over the material where it is being pulled taught by the metal. There is some light rusting on the metal. The buggy seems to all be intact. On the hood of the carriage the middle metal bar is bent. It looks to be easily fixable by bending it back. This item would make a great addition to any baby doll Pram collection. The make is unknown as it is unmarked. The removable red and blue padded seat cover that comes with it has the German label"die Storchenmuhle" on it. The owner says it is as old as the pram is. All components on the pram work well-no parts are missing from it. No splints are in the wicker. It operates very well mechanically. Glides and turns smoothly, etc. It is very sturdy and was well made and will collapse for easy storage. A beautiful baby doll buggy made in the Amish Country of Illinois. I bought three of these back in the 1980's. Just sold the small one. This is the large one and I've also a medium sized one that I'm keeping. They are made of canvas, wood and metal. Very solid, sturdy and extremely well made. This large one has no issues or concerns. The handle to push the buggy is slanted and that's how it was when I bought it. It does roll w/o a problem. The bonnet can be moved up and down, but would need to be oiled. antique baby carriage stroller with crome wheels
THE GOOD it is a very cool item and hard to find.the person that i got it from told me that he brought it from france or germany one of those two places while he was in the military service. it has a lot of chrome parts on it as you can see on the pics. the wheels are about 10' in diameter and like 1/2' wide about 30' tall x 34' long x 18 wide from wheel to wheel and and between 13-15 lbs heavy. it had a little rust when i got it but i spend some time cleaning it and it looks good. but it could use a second hand. i don't know what brand is it the only thing that i can tell you is that has a logo of a crown.that u can see on one of the photos.i did try to find something with that logo but couldn't find anything like it. American Whicker Circa Estimate 1860's Baby Carriage Stroller All Original Working Condition Very old started becoming popular in the early 1800's this mid 19th century piece is all original and still rolls very sturdy metal handles and wheels. Has space for umbrella typical of that period. Whicker became popular and used wisely for the light weight being able for the mid century woman to bring the carriage out from the home to the porch and around easy transport for a woman back then. Measures 53" long by 21" wide and 3 feet high. This is very old pre-post civil war and all original condition and can use some minor restoration but the base and complete piece is working in tack. We found this piece at an old farmhouse. And it's in"farm fresh" condition and would look great as a decor piece. This piece was made in the late 1800's or very early 1900's by the Gendron Wheel Company in Toledo, Ohio. The buggy has a solid iron frame that is in good shape, a lined wicker basket with an adjustable cover and iron wheels with hard rubber tires. There is one panel on the end that lays down flat so you can get the baby in and out easily or lay them down flat to change a diaper. This is a great antique piece that would be a fun restoration ... moreproject and would make a great"rustic" decor piece as it sits now! Condition: This piece is antique and used with some wear. We picked this out of an old farmhouse and it's in"farm fresh" condition. So it is definitely not pristine. The iron frame has some pitting and oxidation throughout. The wicker basket has some wear with a some loose spots and some holes on the cover and near the edges. The interior liner has a lot of wear. The wheels have wear but are in good working condition. The stroller rolls easily, but the basket on it is becoming brittle in spots. Overall this is in rustic condition and would be great for restoration or display as is. Antique Victorian Child's Baby Carriage Buggy Stroller Dated 1877& Signed Description This is an exquisite Antique Victorian Baby Stroller with its original umbrella frame and attachment. All parts are original including the reclining seat. The seat upholstery has been professionally recovered without removing the original fabric or stuffing( this was done due to excessive fraying of the original fabric) The feet area tapestry is original and still intact( does show wear) The original umbrella was also recovered over the old fabric due to torn& worn original fabric. The umbrella is adjustable and all the mechanisms are intact and working. The best part of this beautiful stroller is the great condition of the carriage body& frame work and the fact that it still has the manufactures dated plaque attached to the back of the stroller ... moreseat( see photos) Manufactured by the Downing Carriage Co. Erie, PA. Patents range from 1877 to 1883. The front part of the stroller is surrounded by ornate spindles and ornately shaped cane. Which forms a heart shape design along all three sides. The two sides of the stroller also have metal safety rails attached. The outer sides of the stroller seat are oak wood framed with tightly woven wicker panels that are all intact with no holes present. The side pins that hold the seat in an upright position are present. These pins can be removed to lay the baby down. The child’s strap-in leather belt is also present; however. One end is missing a short piece of the strap; both buckles are present. The front two side wheels measure 20" in diameter and are all wood with metal rims. The two back side wheels measure 22" in diameter and are also all wood with metal rims. There is one tin hub cap missing on the left front wheel( decorative only. Does not affect the function of the wheel or stroller- see photo) The push handle is all solid oak. Ornately shaped with metal tin caps on the ends. There is some minor surface rust on areas of the metal frame underneath the stroller

And I do not know if this was the date made,but looks to be in that age. It also has metal handles on inside of buggy, one at each end that move. Vintage Pram with detachable parasol. The parasol has springs top& bottom that allow you to adjust where it covers. It is missing 1 rod in the top of it but it can most likely be replaced. The leather straps on the bottom are ok but could use new ones. They hold the seat in the frame and act as the shocks. Break works perfect. Covering is really nice. Wheels are 6" and in good shape.
