THEY ARE SURROUNDED BY BRIGHT COLORFUL GLASS IN A BEAUTIFUL PATTERN, INCLUDING 7 RONDELS PER WINDOW. Matching Pair Antique 1840s Stained Glass Church Windows 53" by 22" rosette
Up for bid is a Matching Pair of 1840's Stained Glass Church Windows. They are 53" at the tallest and 47" at the short side. 22" inches wide. The glass itself is 48" by 43-1/2" by 14" wide. The center"rose" is 12" across. The wood frame is 3" at the thickest(where the swingout is- they are meant to be opened) and 1-3/4" elsewhere. I do not know what kind of wood it is. These are genuine antique real leaded stained glass windows. They will need some repair- I wouldn't dare try myself after all they are 170 years old! Up for sale are these two Aesthetic Victorian windows. The both measure 29 1/2" wide by 88 1/2" tall in there original wood frame which have the original sills and are very solid. Glass size is about 27 1/2" by 86" they are both i great shape with very little damage. The first window is missing two very small pieces of green glass but it is very hard to notice because of there small size. See photos. Antique Schlitz Beer Etched Growler. Pre-Prohibition, Porcelain Top, 1900?s Finding one of these beautiful windows is great. But to find a matching pair of antique windows is wonderful. Each window measures about 35” wide and 45” tall. They have nice original solid metal frames in the back. That are about one inch wide plus reinforcements. In the photo that shows the two of them, the one on the right side does not have the top and the right side frame pieces in the back. Both of them are still very solid and can still be moved easily. The way that I had them mounted in my home, it made no difference at all with the frames the way they are. Many of these antique windows have no frames at all so having this much framing is a great bonus. I had thought of building a simple wood frame but did not find it necessary but I can show you my design ... morewhen you pick it up just in case you would want to frame them in wood. There is one piece of blue glass that has a star crack that is shown in one of the pictures and it is still held solidly in place. Couple of other basic normal expected tight cracks and if you love antiques like we do, then they just add to the character. If you demand perfection then there are plenty of new pieces coming in from China. I was told that these were from around 1890 but have no way of knowing when they were made for sure. I have had this matching pair of antique windows in our master bedroom for awhile and have enjoyed them but we decided to change the room around so they are going up for sale. If they do not sell we will put them in another bedroom in our Queen Ann style historic home that has another set of windows where the would fit the same way. These are pick up only and I have no intention of trying to pack them. They are certainly not sun catcher size. And are quite impressive but I was able to transport them easily with my Durango and most mini vans would work fine. I do not know the age, The windows are in the original wood frames that were painted white. No repairs or damage has occurred since removal from the church. They are as is. Other than the white paint on the wood frames, when removed from the church. Each window has 9 round amber gems. Each window has 6 cracks- I have tried to highlight in pink in the photos. The upper glass only is 8 x 41. The lower glass only is 8 x 19. Overall they are in good co ndition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. There are several tight hairlines.
