Antique American Floral Stained Glass Transom circa1890
fid#5127 Antique American Stained and Jeweled Transom from Chicago. Circa 1890 with a Floral center Medallion. This and a second transom from the same house( fid5128) are truly stunning. Wonderful glass throughout with Jewels interspersed in the border. The Central medallion which is itself surrounded by a jeweled belt is composed of(apple? blossoms. Leaves and vines. In its original frame the window measures 60" x 26” and is in good condition with the following to be noted: there is some slight bowing to the window; the central medallion is surrounded by a band of glass which had severely deteriorated due most likely to a reaction with acids in the atmosphere. This band of deteriorated glass has been restored with appropriate antique glass. The lead work has an applied copper patina. fid#8012a&b A very nice. Large 2 part Antique American Stained Glass Floral Window set from Kittanning Pa. circa 1900. Both sections are in their original frames, the bottom measuring 62" x 37.5" and the top 62" x 30" Unusually, there is a provenance to these windows in that the man I bought them from, a Carpenter, removed them from their original installation after a fire damaged the home. The windows are both in very good condition with a crack or two in the arch section and one noticeable fracture in the column base on the right of the window. There is one replaced piece of glass in the lower right section of meadow. There is some use of mottled glass in the window. ~ GORGEOUS ANTIQUE AMERICAN STAINED GLASS WINDOWS FLORAL ~ ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE
Description This is a beautiful Antique Stained Glass window that was salvaged from a Victorian home. It was originally part of a larger window. But this is all that could be salvaged. This panel is largely original and in a new oak frame. It looks darker at the bottom. But it's just wet from washing. It has a purple border with blue inner corners. The center has a yellow background with 2 purple flowers and blue jewels in the center. There are green leaves and yellow buds. It measures 24 long by 31 tall and is 1.5 thick. Glass only is about 19.5 by 26.5 Overall. It is in very good condition. There are a few tight hairlines. It is flat and tight in the cambing. It needs a better cleaning.
