ANTIQUE TOLEDO UHL TALL INDUSTRIAL DRAFTING CHAIR STOOL 1930-1940's
This Antique office drafting chair is one I know the full history of. It came from Cottrell's Printing Press Manufacturers in Pawcatuck, Ct. Made by Toledo Metal Furniture Co. UHL Steel USA, it's age is est. 1930-1940. I purchased this chair in 1969 when Cottrell's was upgrading furniture they sold these to employees. The chair, stool is very comfortable as people sat in them for 8 hrs or more a day. When I bought the chair it was close to 35 years old and I have had it for 44 yrs. This was built for an industrial machine shop setting, it is fully adjustable from 28" low setting to 32 1/2" high setting as well as the back rest being adjustable, it swivels has a curved seat made of walnut veneer 16" x 14" the back is 6" x 13" also in walnut veneer. A comfortable foot rest at 12 1/2" high is made ... moreof metal. The entire base is metal with a bit of surface rust on it, otherwise the chair is in excellent condition for it's age. Antique Uhl Toledo Industrial Drafting Machinist Stool/Chair Tall w Wood Seat
For sale is a great vintage Toledo stool. It has a nice green and rusty patina. The seat raises from 27 1/4" to 31 3/4" The back height is 42" at the low setting. The spring on the lever to raise and lower the seat has been replaced and is not as rigid as the older spring. The wood on the seat and back has the normal wear scratches and discoloration. And also has a curious little dent on one side that is shown in the pictures. Great looking functional stool. Please ask questions and view pictures as all sales are final. Really nice Toledo chair with casters and a swivel seat. The seat adjusts from 16" to 19" measuring from the front of the chair. The back support adjusts from 28 1/2" to 31 1/2" from the top edge. The wood on this chair is near perfect. They just don't come any better than this. The Uhl company decal was covered over by the Wagner's stationery store decal from York. Pa.

I am pleased to offer you this classic vintage industrial designed drafting chair. Manufactured by UHL Toledo Metal Furniture Company between 1930-40's. I have a total of 3 of these stationary chairs. I am selling each one INDIVIDUALLY through auction. The chair is adjustable in height with an adjustable backrest. The bentwood seat and back appears to be walnut. The chair is not restored, not a reproduction, all original right down to army green paint that was applied the day it was produced out of the factory. The chair is marked with TOLEDO label. Expect chair to show age related wear, a nice amount of patina. No breaks, or split in wood. Chair has not been cleaned up, I will leave that to the new owner. The chair is stationary. No swivel, the chair is easy to adjust adjust from 19 1/2" to 22 1/2" high.

Set of 6 matching UHL Toledo Industrial Chairs. Wonderful chippy scratchy shabby chic light blue paint. Recently reupholstered. Very sturdy. Good condition. Some of the bolts are not original but you would never notice. One chair is missing one bolt. Easy to replace at almost any home improvement store. I would prefer these were picked up in person but I will ship anywhere in the continental United States for 145.00. In order to ship the chairs they will need to be disassembled. Because the chairs bolts are square and they have brackets it takes some time to disassemble and will take time to reassemble. This stool is in very good vintage condition with a lot of life left in it. It has the original light brown metal finish on the legs which shows wear commensurate with age including scuffs. Marks etc. The plastic shows light wear and a name written on the bottom of the seat. The seat adjusts from about 16" to 23" The seat itself is approximately 14" deep and 16" wide. All original- Adjustable height- concave curved wood on back with adjusting. Has usual signs of age but no damage to frame or wood. Just some scuffing here and there. Left as found. These chairs are heavy duty steel and made to last. The chair pivots and will raise and lower. Everything is functional. I haven't seen many of these still covered(which keeps the wood in great shape if you would rather have that look) It appears to be an original cover. But I can't confirm for sure. I haven't seen one with the original tag stapled to the bottom either. This chair was salvaged from the old Stover Theatre at Stetson University in Deland. FL. It is old and does show signs of wear due to age and use. You are bidding on the exact item shown in the photos. Very nice. Original condition adjustable Uhl Steel stool. Being sold as purchased. Note flaws in photos and description above. We purchased this(an one other listed in another auction) from an older gentleman at a sale who said he and his brothers had attended a rural one room schoolhouse in Richmond Iowa and these chairs were used as the"dunce" chairs when kids were bad. Now. I have no way to confirm this but on the other chair in the other auction there is what appears to be either an F12 or R12 stamped in the wood on the edge of the seat and the top piece of plywood on the edge as well. Although the plywood does have a few bad spots/scratches/small missing section etc, it is essentially intact. There is some residue from a paper label on the back of the top plywood and a ... morered plastic label tag. I know these will come off with alcohol but I'm not touching these. The big issue with this stool is that it is missing two of its original nuts/bolts set on the base adjustable section. see photos) The starting bid has been adjusted accordingly. I have another stool listed in a separate auction but I honestly do not think I can combine these for shipping reduction purposes due to their size. Shipping cost varies by location and will be via Ground UPS which is the most affordable for a package this size. Shipping to New York seems to be the highest at 68.00. Vintage UHL Steel Toledo Draftsman Chair Adjustable Walnut Drafting Industrial
Vintage PAIR of UHL steel drafting chairs up for auction. BOTH have the original decal. The Toledo Metal Furniture Co. UHL Steel Toledo, Ohio" The seats and back are molded plywood in a walnut finish. Wood has some tiny scratching. The wood backs have patina from the metal rivots. One back has a small bubble in it. Both are adjustable. The bottoms have original green paint. There is a lot of paint loss on the legs. There is very minimal rust. One has a missing bolt in the corner of the adjustable seat. Same one has a broken wing nut. Measures 32 1/2" T x 14 1/2" W at the legs. Might be taken apart for shipping. Shipping is through Greyhound, pick-up at your local station. VTG Mid Century Machine Age UHL Toledo OH Industrial Wood Draftsman Stool Chair
Vintage Industrial Uhl Stool A vintage UHL of Toledo Ohio wood and metal stool/chair. Overall it stands approximately 43½" tall including the backrest. Stands approximately 30¾" tall to the top of seat. The seat measures approximately 14" x 16¼" Originally it was a standard size chair which was repurposed some time ago into a stool. The legs were cut and the two decorative metal panels were welded onto the sides. In good solid condition with some imperfections due to age and wear: there is a slight separation in the top layer of the seat- please see picture#11. Moderate oxidation, wear to the wood, paint loss,please see pictures.
