This chair does not have a label but the fabric is identical to the Karpen chair which came with the other one which I am selling in a separate listing. Comes with the original red fabric which I read was an unusual color and hard to find. Also. This chair includes a hard to find accessory toss pillow. In searching the internet I could not find any pictures of any Karpen chair with a matching pillow. The fabrics on the chair and pillow match exactly. Walnut tapered legs with the front legs showing a wooden bridge connector. Measures approximately 37" high by 28" deep by 35" wide. PLEASE NOTE THAT IN A SEPARATE AUCTION I AM SELLING A MATCHING KARPEN HORN CHAIR. and end with a- Good condition. They are scratched. Faded/water marks? have scratches, scuffs and a couple peel marks? They appear to have had sat outside for a period of time but not sure how long. And the edges are worn and has one ding mark on the back side edge(see picture) it doesn't go all the way through the edge it is only one sided. One chair has some spots on the back and bottom of the chair. There are four shock mounts on each chair, but only three screws/bolts per chair so one chair is missing one bolt; the screw/bolts are somewhat rusty as well. One chairs mounts are also missing part of the rubber/glue that holds the mount on if you zoom in on the pictures you can see it. Please review pictures as they are a part of this description and so you can see more of the condition in your own detail. I haven't seen any cracks or chips, just wear along the edges and scratches on the chairs. There are no labels on the bottoms of these chairs only the embossed markings. I have combined those markings into one picture. The marking with the circled star-like is on the bottom of the one with the spots on it, the one with the circled"S" is on the bottom of the other one. These are good sturdy chairs and with a little TLC can become great chairs once again. Nice fibers and fair color- there is fading(water marks) on the seats of both chairs, just need to be cleaned up a bit and a little reconditioning is all. THIS AUCTION DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BASES! Antique Miniature Upholstered Library Easy Chair Salesman Sample Furniture This remarkable miniature salesman sample chair measures 8 3/4” high x 8” wide. The seat is 5 1/2” deep and the overall depth is 9” The front legs are nicely tapered and the back angled legs are wood. Possibly mahogany. The seat. Back and arms are upholstered in a fine soft yellow fabric and it has a removable cushion. This library chair, along with a matching Chippendale camel-back sofa and another upholstered easy chair and Pembroke drop leaf table were purchased as a set at an antique show in Santa Monica in 1987. At that time they were said to be 64 years old. Putting them at circa 1923, though they may well be older. The dealer had purchased them in Rockport. Illinois as salesman samples. The construction and upholstery all indicates that they were in fact made ... moreas salesman samples and not as apprentice pieces or doll furniture. The joints are tight with no wobbly bits or cracks. The silk fabric is fragile and in rough. Shabby chic condition consistent with age. There are splits in the fabric and some staining. The piping on the front lower arm edge has detached. No attempt to restore or repair the chair has been made and it is in original condition. Please study the photos with the zoom feature to see these issues. This piece is incredibly charming despite the condition of the fabric and displays beautifully. It is extremely rare to find miniature upholstered pieces of this style and age. As most have not survived the years. Scarce Old Hickory Paddle Arm Easy Chair 5-32
Up for auction and fresh out of an old adirondack camp is a scarce old hickory paddle arm great chair. It has been professionally reupholstered using Pendleton wool chief Joseph's blankets. The springs were retied and the chair was reinforced and has new foam cushioning. The old foam and upholstery was totally shot and unusable. The hickory chair itself was basically just oiled and left in originally found condition. Which is actually quite nice with great patina. The chair could probably use a bit more tightening and there are a few old repairs but they cannot be seen as they are under the arms. The chair is ready to go into any kind of a lodge or country home. The paddle arms are each 11 inches wide and very sturdy. The chair measures from across the too front, paddle to paddle about 43 inches, the height at the back is 33 inches and ... more27 inches in the front. If you are sitting in the chair, on the left side under the arm you will find a branded label with the brand slightly off and some letters missing but you can make out hickory tinville ndiana the I is missing in Indiana. The brand was a bit off and the MAR in martinville is missing. Selling the chair because it is too big for my house. If you buy it you will need a wide door to get it in. The chair is heavy. Local pickup or delivery for a fee within a 100 mile radius of northeastern nj. Will not pack it. Best if picked up. I've seen these chairs go for over 1,000.00 and are quite scarce.
