From an es tate we have a very very nice small childs or toy red oak and rush or can e se at chair. I am saying Mottvill e style because it i s not marked at all and came from an area of central New York very near Mottville where these famous cha irs were made. It looks like it may have been painted re d at some point in it's li fe or at the very least has a serious red stain on the oak. The j oints are redder th an the rest. The cane or rush seat is in EXCELLENT condition leading me to believe it has been redone perhaps at some point in it's life. It is a very well put together chair and i s very sturdy. We believe these chairs to have their original finish and the cane seats are in excellent antique condition. Each chair measures a total height from the floor to the top of the back of 34 inches. With a seat width of 16 1/2 inches, seat depth of 15 1/2 inches and seat height of 17 3/4 inches and each chair weighs approximately 8 lbs. These 19th century chairs feature a shaped crest-rail. Circa 1900 Antique Handmade Wooden Highchair with cane seat and drop front tray
42 High x 19 Wide x 17 Deep. This highchair was made by my great grandfather for either my mom(b.1920) or my grandmother(b.1896) The story changed through the years as to who it was made for. It was handed down to me because I have no kids. It's been a teddy bear chair since the 60's. The table swings well. And fastens. The step was broken( you can see in the photo) long ago. My father put an"L" support on it, instead of trying to repair the step. The cane seat was replaced in the 1970s by the Indiana School for the Blind.

There are seven decorative turned spindles on the back. Four on each side of arms, and two on the front legs. The side and back spindle joining the legs are not turned. The overall measurements are approx. 39 1/2" high x 24" wide x 27 7/8” deep incl. runners. The seat to floor is approx.1 5 1/2" The seat front to back is ap prox. 18 1/2" The original finish has a nice warm patina that highlights the nice oak grain on the rocking chair. Very charming details to the back of the chair that are great left as is and have a lot of character to be highlighted if painted. Antique Spindle Dowel - Arts & Crafts Style, Cane Seat, Rattan, Chair, Classic
Absolutely beautiful design. Turned spindles with somewhat bamboo patter on larger supports. Cane wicker seat that is still all there but I don't know how much weight it will hold. Fairly delicate lightweight overall but still sturdy. There is a clean break on a side brace. I held it together and it would glue back nicely. I held it together and I couldn't really feel the joint. The right rear leg also is chipped at the bottom. It still sits good but it will need a little buildup or filler there. The woodwork and bowed spindles are done very nicely and overall the chair seems to have been well cared for. May have been refinished at one time but it would have to have been some time ago. Antique Square Cane Seat Side Chairs (Set of 6)
A set of six(6) Antique, woven cane seat side chairs. The seats are square/trapezoidal shaped. I do not know the type of wood. Though the grain is noticeable though not pronounced, so it could be a stained oak or perhaps some other hardwood with visible grain. The construction is what I call"spindle in hole" with an undetermined method of attaching the backs. Though I would guess screws that were hidden. Gold paint, now faded, decorates and accents the backs and some spindles. One seat needs to be re-caned. All the chairs are in good condition usable condition. Though they all need to be cleaned and polished, as they have been stored for years. These chairs have been in my family for as long as I can remember. I believe that my Mother.
