I have two as shown but this listing is for just one of them. The joints have metal brackets as shown. I have not tried to take them off but they both need some TLC. Also.On one of them two of the castors come off if you lift up the chair but I'm sure this is an easy fix. It looks like they were adjustable at one time but someone put brackets on the bottom to keep it from adjusting. I took quite a few pictures to show any damage and the brackets. The one on the left also has brackets on the base but the one on the right does not. They do however still swivel. This lovely oak swivel office chair may be an early Heywood Bros& Wakefield Co(Heywood-Wakefield) but it bears no tag or marking. We have seen photos of similar chairs that date 1880s-1920s but cannot verify the age of this chair. The seat and back are drilled for caning. The cane is gone and the seat and backrest have been reupholstered with dark brown horse hide. The chair is ready for use. Or could be recaned. The wood in this chair is beautiful. The cast iron swivel and adjustable height mechanisms are in very good working order. The seat adjusts from 18.5" high from the floor to 22" when the swivel is half way up. The 7.25" long swivel can come all the way up to disassemble the legs from the seat. The mechanism also allows the chair to tilt back about 30 degrees. This chair is solid to sit in and tilts back. There is some wear. Some minor chips and stains. The leather back has some tears. Is original with the tacks. You can replace the leather. The 4 castors all work. The seat is 19" wide by 16" deep. The top of the back is 32" from the floor. It is 23" wide from outside arms. It was found wearing tacky new casters but those have been replaced with better, smooth, and more age appropriate casters compatible with this kind of furniture. Look how it sits proudly. As if anticipating a hard earned driver's license. If you are concerned about the size of this chair(32"H x 23"W x 19"D) do not worry as many different people tried this chair and found it remarkably comfy. The base is also marked Cook Quality. I have not been able find one quite like this one. It is rustic yet shows very good. Solid craftsmanship. Vintage Oak Captain's Swivel Desk Chair
Up for sale is a great old oak captain's swivel desk chair. I reclines slightly. Swivels well, and has a nice wide seat. There is one caster that does fall out when lifted, but all the casters roll well. It stands 27" tall, the seat stands 14.5" from the floor and is 18" wide X 18" deep. Just pop out the old and insert the new. This antique chair is so sturdy, plenty of life left in this beauty. The chair also swivels and is adjustable. I do see some loss to the finish and markings here and there. The seat rests at 19 1/2" in height and there are 1 1/2" left to adjust upwardly height wise. It also adjusts quite a bit lower. Re-glued, sanded, stained and had multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer applied. It is all set to go into the office. This chair will swivel and tilt on a threaded rod. The height of the chair can be adjusted up and down and is all supported by four solid oak legs that retain the easy and smooth rolling castors. It has a curved shape back for comfort. We have sold a ton of these chairs and never had a complaint. We love refinishing these chairs because they come out so beautiful. Look at the great grains that have been used in this chair. Vintage Johnson Oak Swivel Desk Chair
I'm really not sure who made this really nice oak chair but the tightening handles on this chair have a big J; so I think it's a Johnson out of Chicago. It stands 31 1/2" and is 14 3/4 at its widest on the seat. It is made of tiger striped oak and is in perfect condition as far as I can tell. You might want to consider picking this piece up instead of shipping it.

Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Adjustable Swivel Armless Desk Chair
Up for sale is a wonderful vintage/ antique Straight Cut and Quarter Sawn Oak Adjustable Height Swivel Desk Chair. This is a Great Looking Chair and is in very nice original condition. The back rest is adjustable as is the height of the seat. The seat swivels/ spins easily and smoothly. It is in Overall Very Good Condition as you can see from the pics. The wood is quarter sawn oak and its in great shape. There are no real damages and wear is light. I notice one bolt missing from where the backrest Post Cast Iron Lower section attaches on to the base section- shown in the last pic. You will need to replace this bolt to help ensure safety and so you do not cause damage. If I have time I will replace it myself- depends on my schedule. The seat has a minor water stain. It has a good clean original finish. The lower bolt on the backrest post looks ... moreto be an old replacement- not the original. Great Looking Smaller Size- Strong and Sturdy- Very Well Constructed. The seat measures approx 16.5" x 16.5" and when in its lowest position. It stands approx 20-1/4 from the ground to the seats top. The casters are newer, not the old originals. When I package- I will remove the backrest post section to help make it easier to fit in the box. There is a small cast iron section that attaches on to the lower part where the bottom of the post fits onto the base section. this is shown in pic 10 where its attached. I will put this small cast piece in a small box inside the larger box. It will take me a few days to package the chair and a few more to get it to FedEx for shipment. I live in the sticks and the nearest FedEx is 20 miles.
