I have two as shown but this listing is for just one of them. The joints have metal brackets as shown. I have not tried to take them off but they both need some TLC. Also.On one of them two of the castors come off if you lift up the chair but I'm sure this is an easy fix. It looks like they were adjustable at one time but someone put brackets on the bottom to keep it from adjusting. I took quite a few pictures to show any damage and the brackets. The one on the left also has brackets on the base but the one on the right does not. They do however still swivel. Stylish and RARE ladies desk chair. This chair is 100% ORIGINAL and untouched. It retains its original finish, and has curvatious front legs. This style was called a'T-Back' and common on dinning room chairs of the 1920s. As you can see from the photos it was a cats favorite scratching post. Some filling and sanding and a refinish will give this rare chair a new lease on life. The chair has a wonderful little plank or saddle type seat and is comfortable and sturdy. For your consideration is this industrial/steam punk style desk chair. The quarter sawn oak chair has great grain pattern and wear. The 22" base has been outfitted with oversized 3" casters. Overall the chair measures 22" wide x 22" deep x 37" tall. The seat will adjust from 18 3/4" 24" tall. The piece has scratches. Chips, rust and tarnish which all add to the character. It was found wearing tacky new casters but those have been replaced with better, smooth, and more age appropriate casters compatible with this kind of furniture. Look how it sits proudly. As if anticipating a hard earned driver's license. If you are concerned about the size of this chair(32"H x 23"W x 19"D) do not worry as many different people tried this chair and found it remarkably comfy. Handbanino did and having a small frame I thought this chair would be too big but I almost decided to keep it as my main chair. Actually I would probably suggest buying it before I change my mind. The base is detachable and is connected by wooden screw blocks. The chair rotates 360 degrees. The chair is very comfortable is very sturdy. Its hardware mechanically designed for daily office use made to last not throw away. It measures 33” H with seat adjustment all the way down. The seat is 17.75”H and is adjustable up to 19”H, the seat is 18” wide and 16” front to back, the base is 20” square. It weighs approx 35 lbs. Hard rubber casters were made in Evansville Indiana. Great Antique Condition- some wear to finish consistent with its 70-80 years of age and use. Casters and their sockets. For sale is an adjustable oak desk chair that swivels. The hardware is from the early 1900's. Not sure on the exact year but on the base it is marked Pat Nov 30 1897. The base is also marked Cook Quality. I have not been able find one quite like this one. It is rustic yet shows very good. Solid craftsmanship. The style would make a nice addition to any style of office or home. Hardware is quite interesting and in good shape. There is a sticker on the underside of the seat showing a bell and on the bell is Local, Long Distance, Telephone. The sticker is also marked 2754. There is also on the bottom a round brass plate marked C 754. The wood is solid. Chair is very solid and usable. It apears that one of the adjustment knobs on the back has been lost and replaced with a bolt.
