Each chair has high raised backs which have elaborate carved top rail and central panel, this is flanked by 2 lath rail rails and spiral turned end columns with finial top, the seats are upholstered in green fabric and have more carving to the seat frame at the edge, the chairs stand on turned front legs with bobbin stretcher. They have spiral back legs& matching stretchers which unite all the legs. Condition The Chairs are 100% sound. Vintage Solid Oak English Victorian Heavily Carved Quality Hall Chair Antique This auction is for a beautiful solid oak Victorian hall chair from England. It is in good shape for it's age with only minor issues. It is pretty sturdy but I would not suggest that this be used on a regular basis. It was not made to be sat in by people that are as big as we are these days. It is very well carved. It measures 36 inches tall and 14 inches wide. The seat measures 18 inches off of the ground. And is 14 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The back rest measures 18 inches tall off of the seat. This is a great chair that will display well in any home. I don't know the exact age of the chair but I would think it is from the late 1800's to early 1900's. I've tried to take a number of pictures so that you can judge for yourself it's ... morequality and value. Please feel free to email me any questions you may have about this item. These beautiful chairs were originally made to grace the front hallways of ancient manors and castles and were intended for the footman so he did not get to comfortable and fall asleep! This fine example is from the middle to the last half of the 19th century and stands 44" tall x 13 1/2" wide. The seat height is 21 1/2' tall x 12 1/2' deep and 12' wide. It is skillfully carved with a crest, cherubs and scrolls. I believe the wood to be Walnut but it is hard tell because of the dark patina. It is in very good condition for the age and is sturdy and ready to be used in your front hall or for a great chair to sit on to put on your shoes! Rare Antique Arts & Crafts Solid Oak Hall or Nursing Chair circa 1900 - 1920's
This is a delightful. One-of-a-kind Antique Arts& Crafts Solid-Oak Chair. Several dealers have dated it from 1900 to 1920 and by all observations that certainly appears to be true. It is solid oak with brass screws. The maker is unknown. The legs have not been cut off since one can still see the maker's original bevels on the bottom of them. The patina and all other visual signs indicate the chair is about one-hundred or so years old. It has not been re-finished. Given the angle of the seat it may have been intended as a nursing chair. It also could serve as a hall chair. One other possibility would be as a desk chair. You be the judge of that. The chair is very sound and has no cracks or breaks. There are two chips out of the back on the cut-out edge which are shown in the photos. They are not glaring. Although the legs and braces ... moreare finished smooth on the edges, the back and the seat edges have been left with saw marks still visible. There is a faint circular outline on the chair seat where a pot may have sat at one time. It is not an indentation of the wood, just a faint semi-circle. I have searched extensively on the web for another chair like this one. I have not found anything even close. It is truly a rarity. The dealers I consulted said they had never seen another like it either. The design itself is quite unique. The elongation of the back down to the braces being the most unusual feature. It adds a touch of elegance to an otherwise simple chair. It will make a wonderful addition to your Arts& Crafts home or furniture collection. Antique French Country Oak Corner Hall Rush Seat Chair/1900-1910/Great Condition
I purchased this beautiful Antique French Country Corner Chair with hand-braided Rush Seat at the famous"La Batte" market in Liege. Belgium in early 2014. The chair is in excellent/great condition, and has been well-cared for in my home as well. There is a small dark spot on the rush that can be seen in the photo. The measurements are 27"H x17"x 17. I have 4 total chairs that I purchased in Belgium that I will be listing on eBay. All are in great condition and would be a welcome addition to anyone's home.

Rare "Jacobean Style", Vintage Mexican Prayer/Hall Chair.
The fabric is gold in color and in excellent condition no tears. Stains or rips. The chair itself is sturdy and solid, some of the wood staining is faded as you can see in areas, but is a dark walnut in color. There are some imperfections one on the back of the chair an another down by the front leg. I took several pictures to try and show the overall condition.
