This is an AMAZING pair of barrel shaped. Ribbed club chairs and ottoman made by the Nemmer Furniture Company of Buffalo, N.Y. in the 1930's. I have seen an ad specifically for these chairs dated from 1934. There was also a matching sofa which I don't have, and the original colors were a bright blue and bright red- very much primary colors. Though a matching set from the same suite, each chair is slightly different in the upholstery details with piping and pleating. These chairs are the ultimate in Art Deco furniture! Both chairs still have the identifying Nemmer brass tag on their backs signifying that the mohair fabric is original(though not in the best shape) The fabric is faded and has wear. Each chair measures 31” H. 37” W from arm to arm, 31” D at the side of the chair, the seat is 22” D and 15” H from the seat to the ground. The cushion of each chair can be switched on the leather side or the brown velvet side(as you can see in the photos) Due to the size of the chairs they will be shipped via Central Freight Lines. Beautiful Original Handcrafted Adirondack Dining/ Club Chairs Made of tree branches and logs hand selected. Cut, and crafted of logs and branches. Bark on legs. These chairs are stury. And solid construction. The seats are all original and covered with a faux leather for the seats and the backs are covered in a multi-colored woven geometric pattern. There is slight wear. No tears. No rips. If steamed cleaned they would look fantastic. These chairs are authentic Adirondack possibly made by Amish. Can easily be re-upholstered if desired. 4 Chairs: Club Chairs / Card Table Chairs - Very High End - Need Reupholstering
Description These are 4 High End club chairs or card table chairs. These belonged to my mother-in-law whose furniture was by in large made by Kittinger and some other high-end furniture manufacturers. Many of my pieces do say Kittinger but I cannot find a name on these chairs or on the card table they went with. I've checked with an antique furniture expert who thinks the chairs might be Baker. He said in past years. There were other manufacturers who made similar chairs. In any case. He believes the wood design of each chair is definitely of a very high quality. The chairs are upholstered with leather and do need to be recovered. As they are now– I don't find the green attractive. Plus. There are some scuff marks and a few slits in the leather.
