This chair has been in the family since around 1950. After some research it would appear that this is indeed an original due to the characteristic burn of THONET as well as the custom marks used by the Thonet furniture makers as shown in the above pictures. I found a local furniture daeler that sells on consignment. A Rare Antique THONET. Austria Fiddle backed Bentwood Chair with all the bells& whistles ca. late 1800's to 1930's give or take? The chair has the original stenciled or maybe burned in logo under the center of the front backside of the seat. The seats super cool it made of one solid piece of wood that's been bent back around onto itself. The what I'm sure was once leather seat is long gone, but it could be replaced. It has all the original hardware. The piece is about 35" tall from the floor to the top of the seat back. The seat's 16 1/2" ... morewide across the from side to side, 15 1/4" long from front to back. The chair has scuffs, a few scrapes, and some wear as it should for it's age and use. Antique Thonet Rocking Chair / Bentwood / Rocker "THONET Burned Imprint"
I am not sure of the actual age of this rocking chair but if you are here looking you might have an idea:o) Along with the"THONET" imprint there is either an X6 or 9X(not sure which of the two it is suppose to be) imprinted on several parts of the chair. The chair is in very well condition except for the ends of the rocker as you can see in the picture. The seat and backrest are not broken anywhere. There are a few spots of white paint on the chair. I did not want to attempt to remove it and mess anything up. There is also on broken screw on the bottom board. The piece that would be behind your ankles when seated. Also has nicks and scuffs. Despite the minor imperfections this is a beautiful chair and worth restoration! Listing as a"Pick Up" only but would be willing to ship if you make the arrangements.

Antique Thonet Bentwood "Occasional Stool" Ottoman
Up for auction today is a Thonet Bentwood Occasional Stool attributed to Michael Thonet. I have seen this early design dated between 1910 and the 1930s. While it is commonly found with a woven cane seat. This stool has a reversable black vinyl upholstered seat and a molded plywood table top. This seating is original to the stool as it was designed without holes or a groove to support a woven cane seat. It is white painted bentwood that has turned to more of a cream color due to age. It measures approx. 16" x 16" and is 17-1/4" to the top of the vinyl seat. There is some paint loss. As can be seen in the photos, but it is sturdy and well made. The vinyl upholstered seat is in very good condition without any tears or scratches, just some light usage marks can be seen. Before I start in about this chair I wanted to mention a bit about the shipping. I have the shipping maybe a bit high but lately I have been loosing my tush on shipping because I have been way under charging. I am new and haven't quite figured the shipping thing out yet. I will say this however. I am a very honest seller and will NOT ever charge anyone too much on shipping. That has been done to me and I refuse to do it to someone else. This chair is 33 inches tall and 16 inches wide. I am not 100 percent sure what this chair is made of, meaning what type of wood. While it is a little smaller than a normal size dinning room chair for example, this chair is quite heavy for it's size. This chair is a bit dusty and probably needs to be cleaned up properly. I am sure it would look a whole lot richer if it had some wood polish on it, but I am never sure exactly what might harm or help a chair this age and I sure would hate to have run a rag over it with wood polish and find out that I just ruined it. I have that sort of luck you know, lol. Okay. So continuing on with this beautiful chair. From the research I have done it seems to me that Thonet stopped making this type of seat around 1880. I am certain this chair is NOT a reproduction because if you look at some of my pictures of the underside of the chair you can see that it has square nails in it. Vintage Bentwood Antique Solid Oak Kohn Mundus Thonet Art Deco Chair Poland
This is a very cool chair. The Following description is information I was able to find through my research on this piece. I don't personally know much about this type of chair. So I can only go by what I discovered during my research. Please look closely for yourself and make your own determination if the information is accurate. Up for auction we have an Ice Cream Parlor. Soda Shop, Bistro Style 1900-1950 Kohn& Mundus style Art Deco Bentwood Thonet style chair with a round super embossed hand carved seat. I believe it dates closer to the circa 1925 era. The chair has a 34" tall back rest and 18" tall seating area with a 14 1/2" diameter seat. When pushed against the wall it measures 17" deep from the wall to the front of the seat. The seat has an interesting carved lines and swirls pattern. The underside of the ... moreseat rim has a stamp into the wood that I believe says Made in Poland. It's difficult to make out. The back rest has the typical bentwood chair design which extends down the rear legs and is attached to the underside of the chair with old square head bolts. The back features triple turned spindle or pin back supports. The legs have that beautifully shaped bentwood look. I am not sure if this is the original color of the chair. Which has heavy wear to the finish. There is some sporadic paint speckles and spots here and there on the chair. The chair came out of an art studio, which explains the paint. I'm sure if you wanted to clean it up and bring it back to original condition, it would clean right up with minimal effort. The chair is very solid and sturdy with no loose joints or screws. I think they could use some new glue in a couple of the joins- but overall these are in excellent condition- especially considering the age of these antiques. Description This is an antique American 1920s pair of bentwood arm chairs made by the Empire State Chair Company of Havenstraw.New York. They are not dated but probably 1940s in age. They measure 33 inches in height, 18 inches in seat height, 21.5 inches from arm to arm, 18 inches in seat depth. They are original finish. The felt seating needs to be redone. What a find! Fresh from an 1830's Post& Beam house recently purchased~ was sitting in the attic eaves. Measures 34 1/2" to top of back 17 1/2" to top of seat. Seat is 15" wide x 16 1/2" deep Triple row back with hand carved designs Inside of the seat it is stamped into the wood MAZOWIA Made in Poland. On the other side there are remnants of a paper label as well Bolted metal leg brackets in fine condition No splits to wood anywhere I can see Bottom of one leg has an old chip at the base of the leg. Same color as leg as this chip happened many years ago- At first glance I missed it. Needs a tightening- one back slat has come unglued from age and the glue drying out- One leg needs to be reglued and screwed. This is a set of four antique early Bentwood Chairs by Zpm Radomisko produced under the Thonet license in Poland. One chair still has the original paper label signed Zpm Radomisko on the bottom so we were able to identify the chairs The chairs are sturdy and three seem to have the original cane seats one for sure is a replacement. The cane on the seats on several chairs have an uneven stain applied showing some darker spots in the camera flash. This is not seen by naked eye where they appear evenly finished The chair frames have been refurbished and have been painted a medium brown. 2 Original Antique 1900-1950 Parlor THONET Bentwood Chairs
Chairs are in remarkable condition for their age. One does have a small chip in the front seat. They are clearly burned in"made in Czechoslovakia" on the inside lip in the front part of the chair. The hinges also have manufacture dates of sep 22 14. They are dark brown. See detailed pictures. If you need more pics please don't be afraid to ask.

Antique Austrian Michael Thonet bent wood childs chair woven seat all original
Antique Austrian Michael Thonet bent wood child's chair with woven seat. This is all original with no repairs or replacement hardware. I believe this chair pre-dates the 1900's but there is no date marking on this piece. This is branded with the name"Thonet" and Austria on the underside. All the joints are still solid with no movement and the woven seat does not have any tears or frays. The small hoop on the back of the chair is separating at the joint as shown in the photos but the hoop is still securely attached to the chair. This could be re-glued but I did not want to alter this piece. Overall this is a very nice example of an original antique Thonet. Original antique Bentwood No. 14 (now 214) Thonet style cafe bistro chair
Original antique bentwood Thonet No. 14-style bistro cafe chair. This design type is now known as a'214' The'chair of chairs' a design classic traditionally used in bistros and now fashionable as good kitchen chairs. Has an original patterned pressed seat and double hooped back rails. My research indicates that this chair was probably made in the 1950s. It is marked on the underside of the seat with the product number 14 but no other manufacturers markings have survived. The existence of the additional diagonal braces between the seat and back might mean that it is actually Thonet. Nevertheless. It is a beautiful antique chair and is fully useable even though one wooden plug is missing from the back. Collection from SE19. Crystal Palace or postage by courier.

the price means all 2 chairs color: mahogany. Oak the one of those almost perfect most parts got fresh paint and varnish but I left the original oak and black painted"marquetry" in the seat this part just got new varnish the other one has some issues this was better use and about the abrasion not really visible the"marquetry" and this was fixed before( with one leg a through bolt I changed this a better) because not absolutely straight the legs but stable and usable and not conspicuous both are shiney and fresh and nice Important!
