Antique Miniature Upholstered Library Easy Chair Salesman Sample Furniture This remarkable miniature salesman sample chair measures 8 3/4” high x 8” wide. The seat is 5 1/2” deep and the overall depth is 9” The front legs are nicely tapered and the back angled legs are wood. Possibly mahogany. The seat. Back and arms are upholstered in a fine soft yellow fabric and it has a removable cushion. This library chair, along with a matching Chippendale camel-back sofa and another upholstered easy chair and Pembroke drop leaf table were purchased as a set at an antique show in Santa Monica in 1987. At that time they were said to be 64 years old. Putting them at circa 1923, though they may well be older. The dealer had purchased them in Rockport. Illinois as salesman samples. The construction and upholstery all indicates that they were in fact made ... moreas salesman samples and not as apprentice pieces or doll furniture. The joints are tight with no wobbly bits or cracks. The silk fabric is fragile and in rough. Shabby chic condition consistent with age. There are splits in the fabric and some staining. The piping on the front lower arm edge has detached. No attempt to restore or repair the chair has been made and it is in original condition. Please study the photos with the zoom feature to see these issues. This piece is incredibly charming despite the condition of the fabric and displays beautifully. It is extremely rare to find miniature upholstered pieces of this style and age. As most have not survived the years. From my research. The remaining bottom label of this classic, American antique Windsor chair puts its creation between 1880 and the 1920s by the renowned Binghamton Chair Company out of Binghamton, New York. Bow-back, continuous armchair. Signature Windsor turning of arm supports to match turned legs. Distinctive notch on arms. Not positive as to the wood. Company info for the time period suggests mahogany or oak, but I do not think this is oak, so I will guess mahogany. Original dark stain. I have not polished this with any product. Simply wiped down with a dry, soft cloth. Tried to show actual condition all around. A couple of spindle tops need to be put back in but are undamaged otherwise, other wear hopefully visible in pics.

Its very rare to find a chair of this quality and age that still retains it original label. As can be seen in the last photo. The chair is marked"The Merikord Line" The Merikord Line was a collection of Windsor chairs with rush seats. Since the Merikord line was primarily all wicker construction. This is a beautiful oak corner chair with carved arms and back. It has a recessed triangular seat& steeply placed armrests. The splat& crest rail are carved on the front& back side with rustic style X's. Lines, triangles& a flower. It does not have stiles but 2 carved pieces set at a diagonal. Which meet at the center back. The most similar chair to this that I could find on the web was listed as English. This looks like the arts& crafts period to me. It's in very good antique condition although it does have a crack running across the rear half of the seat( though one can still sit on it) There are a couple of little paint spatter drops on underside. Antique John Stuart Painted White Louis XVI Carved Walnut Armchair Stunning
Description 19th Century French Louis XV painted walnut armchair would be a great addition to your home. The construction and detail of the carving on this walnut armchair consists of what looks like a rose that at the top crest of this armchair and bell flowers on each side of the rose on the top chair crest. One the front lower seat rail there is a carved cartouche with what looks like foliage on opposing sides of the carved cartouche. On the inside of both arms of the chair there is a carved pattern. Over the years we have had the opportunity to look and inspect many armchairs and what was surprising with this armchair is the weight of it. We pulled the lining of the underside of the chair to take a look and we did see some old horse hair stuffing and also to see if this chair was gilded at a earlier time but there was no visual evidence ... moreof any gild. This French walnut armchair measures 43" in height. 27" in width, 23" in depth at the chair seat. Condition Overall condition of this French Louis XV walnut armchair is excellent used. Over the years here in South Florida. Many people who have brought their furniture here and they end up painting it that ever so popular white. The frame of this chair is tight or sturdy. Knicks and scuffs to the chair which we have been touched up. There are a couple locations on the chair where you can see where the chair joinery or construction comes together by the seams which is visible more with the white paint. These visual separations are very minute and in know way hinders the overall stability of this beautiful French walnut armchair. The upholstery could be changed to accomodate your decorative needs. Antique Italian Renaissance Style Walnut Throne Armchair Carved Unique Stunning
Description Italian Renissance style walnut throne armchair would be a great addition to your home. Circa 20th century. This walnut armchair is what they call a bench piece. On the underneath of this chair, the glue blocks make think that this walnut armchair was made here in the US or England. Either way this armchair has nice detail with carved seat crests and scrolled detail on the chair backsplats and on the lower rails. After looking at the chair closely we learned that the appaerance of European worming is actually been fauxed to give that appearance of old wood. The density of the wood on this chair also makes me think the wood they used could be 18th century, but more then likely 19th century planks because the lack of any shrinkage. This armchair measures 55" in height, 23" in width, 16 1/2" in depth, 18 1/2" ... morechair seat height from the floor. Condition The overall condition of this walnut armchair is excellent used. There is an old repair on one of the legs of this beautiful walnut armchair. Great patina or finish on the chair. Some scuffs to the surface of the chair that have been touched up by us. Made in England circa 1900 Walnut frame New leather Scooped seat Good. Sturdy condition, This is a really sharp looking antique desk chair from England. We estimate it was made around 1900. It has a solid walnut frame and leather upholstery. This chair has several good looking features which really dividing into two categories: frame and upholstery. The frame is walnut and remains very sturdy today. It has a beautiful light brown patina that would go well with a variety of wood types. The seat is a“scooped” seat which means the part you sit on ... morewas actually scooped out with a tool from a large solid piece of wood. In this case the seat is made from two halves joined together. The arm rests and front legs are turned and have nice detail on them. The front legs also end in brass casters with brown porcelain wheels on them. They join to the back legs with an“H” stretcher which provides plenty of support. The dark brown leather is new to the chair. Probably added to replace worn upholstery/leather. The leather is very soft and comfortable and is in pristine condition. Overall this chair is in good condition. There is a slight separation where the two seat halves join. And a smaller separation on the right side of the seat(very small) These are cosmetic only(due to the shrinkage of wood over many years) and do not affect the structural integrity of the chair. In fact, this chair is very sturdy, and ready for immediate every day use. This is a comfortable and beautiful antique desk chair that anyone would be happy to have! For your consideration. This lovely child-sized wood chair is hand-carved in the Georgian style with cabriole legs and a pierced back that is absolutely gorgeous. This bears a sticker underneath from Paramount Antiques Inc. New York. This is 25.5" to the top of the back. 13.5" overall depth, and 17.5" from arm to arm(at front) Seat height is 12.5" and is covered in an ivory damask that is lightly soiled. This could be cleaned and it's a simple wrap-and-staple seat, but there are bolted and glued-in corner supports underneath that would have to be removed in order to do so(see underside pic) The wood has light overall dings and scuffs mostly on the back of the back and the back legs.
