The filigree is gilded and the metal is probably French white metal or spelter. The gilding appears to be the original finish. It has an easel style back and stands nicely. The glass and photograph slide in from the top. There is an original antique wedding photo, or cabinet card, on the inside. This lovely old frame measures approximately 8 1/4" high x 6 1/4" across. The viewing area is about 5" high x 3 1/2" across. It is in very good condition with the glass intact and all of the metal looks good. A rope rim around the photo area and rope style feet. It measures about 3 1/8" tall and 2 3/8" wide. The photo space is about 2 1/4" by 1 3/4" The metal of frame looks brass. It has original metal stand. The backing is tin type metal. The frame originally has four cut tabs to hold the backing, two of them missing, the remaining two still can hold the backing nicely. I leave them un-fold for you to put in photo. The condition is great with all stones intact. Few of clear stones a bit darken from ages, but no chips. Some light patina on metal. Antique Metal Filigree Picture Frame This beautiful frame displays the exquisite filigree workmanship that existed during the early 1900's. There are geometric shapes lining the front of the frame and small flowers along the back of the frame. The edge has yet another pattern. The frame appears to be made of brass. But I'm not certain. The frame measures approximately 10-1/8 inches by 8-1/8 inches. There is an OVAL inset within the 8 X 10 picture frame. Note: The photos distort the oval image and it appear to be round. However. It is a very lovely oval shape. This is in very good condition for its age. The brown velveteen back board shows some minor wear. A pin has been punctured through the back board to help secure the stand but I do not believe it is necessary. Antique Victorian Cast Gilt Metal Painted Photo Picture Frame Or Mirror Acanthus
Victorian cast metal or brass that is painted off white picture frame or mirror. The picture frame has very nice rococco style acanthus leaves designs all round and it is self standing with an easel type of metal on the back that folds in or extends out to hold the picture frame in place. The area for a picture or for a mirror has an opening on the front of 3 3/4" X 5 1/2" The measurements of the whole frame are 12" long X 8 1/2" wide. Please note that we are not sure if the off white paint finish is original to the frame or if someone did this at a later date. We do know however. That the frame itself is indeed dating from the Victorian Era. If the new owner wishes to remove the off white paint, the frame would show its gold gilt under coat which is now visible in a few areas here and there where the paint wore off. Antique Brass Plated Metal Easel Photo Frame CDV Size French Style
I believe this small antique brass-plated metal photo frame was intended to hold carte de visite size photos. It measures approximately 3" x 4&1/4" overall and the back plate measures approximately 2&1/2" x 3&7/8" As shown. It has scratches and wear, a bend in the metal, and a piece of old cellophane tape(stubbornly) stuck to the back. I've never tried to straighten out the bend because I like the way it looks as it is. I couldn't find a manufacturer's mark. But the back is imprinted"pat apl'd for" and what looks like the date Sep 14 97(1897) is imprinted at the bottom of frame back. Please note that the metal does not attract a magnet-I stuck a business card in the frame for display and used a small rare earth magnet on BOTH sides of the metal to hold it in place.

Condition: The frame has 3 breaks that could use soldering but not really necessary. see photos. You would never notice them passing by on a bicycle. As my grandmother used to say. Also some wear to the finish and some surface scratches here and there. The frame could use a cleaning as well. Sweet Antique Baby Girl Color Tinted Photo Metal Bubble Convex Dome Glass Frame
Up for auction is a sweet antique little girl and baby photograph that is framed in an antique metal frame with convex bubble glass front. It is large and measures about 20" long and 14 1/2" wide including the frame. The finish was very worn so I painted it with gold/bronze paint to clean it up. The photo is color tinted I believe. But my confusion is the chair does not look real. Maybe it's not a photo but a painting. I just don't know. It's darling and is selling as it is. There is a tiny blotch at the bottom. Ready to use and hang! Antique ornate bubble convex glass picture frame. Gold tone metal frame with scrollwork. Dates from the early 1900s. Lovely shape. No picture or photo. Has a metal backing with side clips. The whole frame measures 24" x 15.25" Holds a photo measuring 13" x 19" Very good condition. No damage to the glass. No cracks or chips. Nothing missing or broken on the frame. Gold color has not been repainted or touched up. There is normal color wear and darkening. Nice aged patina! Non smoking home. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN EDWARDIAN HANGING OVAL METAL PICTURE FRAME W/SEPIA WOMAN PHOTO
Please scroll down under this description for additional views. An antique oval hanging picture frame. Circa 1900-1910, will accommodate a 7 1/2" by 9 1/2" print or photo. The frame is made of stamped tin that is painted gold- very easy access with the four tabs on the back. Soldered to the top of the oval is a molded soft metal(probably lead) bow decoration and a 12" length of heavy chain for hanging. The photograph is from the era and was in the frame when we bought it. No name or identification on the back unfortunately but she is a sweet-faced young woman with a"Gibson Girl" hair style. She is posed amidst billowing yards of white tulle with a shell cameo brooch gathering some of the abundant fabric. The glass is old and in good condition. There is one little split in the lead on the left loop of the decorative ... morebow but it's an unnoticeable flaw.
