The front curved molding is about 1 ½ inch wide. The frame is about 3/4 inch deep. FRAME IS GOOD AND SOLID– NO WIGGLE. No spaces at the corners of the frame. The oak is tight-grained. The frame has the original finish on it. The frame is circa 1960’s– 1970’s. Contains a very sweet contemporary print of an old style scene– a little girl is trying to give a carrot to her dog. Who is not at all interested. The dog is furry– maybe part German Shepherd? The colors and the details of the print are better than my picture. The print is on cardboard. With the mat part of the cardboard– not a separate piece. May not be antique. But still a very charming ... morepicture. Weighs almost 2 pounds before any packing materials. ALL SALES FINAL. Elegant Antique/Vintage Large Ornate Carved Out Oak Picture Frame with Period Watercolor Painting This auction is for a truly beautiful antique/vintage oak picture frame ca 1890-1910. The carved out areas of the frame are framed themselves by solid boarders which gives this frame a rich aesthetic feel. The very inner portion of the frame has what I think is a thin gesso area which nicely compliments the larger areas of ornate carvings. The approximate outside dimensions are: 29 3/4" x 25 1/2" The approximate picture viewing area dimensions are: 19 1/2" x 15 1/2" The frame does have a few minor dings and a crack(upper right corner) Considering its age. It is in marvelous condition. The watercolor painting comes with the frame. It is signed by a Hazel Taylor of whom I am not familiar with. Vintage estate older Antique Tiger Oak Frame This is a antique Tiger Oak frame I came across several years ago at a local estate sale. This frame does not have glass. But does still have the original nails from when something was mounted in it. What makes this frame a little unusual is that it has extra wood trim at the bottom, like a molding piece at the bottom, it's also beveled on the inside, where the matting would be. The frame itself is in Good to Very Good Condition. It has the usual nicks in the wood that comes from age, but otherwise is solid; measurements are-inside 18” x 24” outside- 20” x 27” the width of the frame itself is 1 1/2" wide at the top and sides and 3" wide at the bottom. ANTIQUE SOLID OAK FRAME. Tight grained. Contains a vintage colored poster from Holland-America Line– ss Statendam. Outer frame measurements are 19 ½ inches by just over 23 ½ inches. The frame is circa 1900. With the poster from the 1960’s, maybe earlier. DETAILS: The print is in pretty good condition. Not faded, A small wrinkle or two in the middle of the print. My pictures are not good– too much glare. There is some light brown discoloration on the lower white parts of the ship and on the back of the print. The light brown blends in pretty well. Especially when the print is behind glass– not really noticeable. The print is not matted but placed on a black background. Frame with the contents weighs just about 6 pounds. A few dark discolorations on the oak. The vintage print has glass and cardboard backing. Frame is good and solid–no ... morewiggle. One small space on the lower left corner. VINTAGE SOLID OAK FRAME IN GOOD CONDITION. Contains an antique print- a page from a Victorian children’s nursery rhyme book–RED RIDING HOOD and the Wolf. The center has a colored print– a chromolith– a picture of Red Riding Hood with a basket for Granny. Walking in the wood picking flowers, with a wolf as her companion– initials J L on the lower left side. The print is circa 1900’s. Around the center picture are small pictures of the wolf and Red Riding Hood and parts of the nursery rhyme. With RED RIDING HOOD on the lower left side. An unusual shaped page because the nursery rhyme book had slanted upper corners. Some all-over very slight discoloration– making the page light beige– this could be the original color of the page? The nursery rhyme is not matted but mounted on a complimentary color mat. The solid oak frame is circa 1960’s. The ... moreframe measures just over 14 inches by just over 16 inches from the outside. Frame opening for the glass and contents is 12 ½ inches by 14 ½ inches. The frame is firm. No wiggle– corners are tight. Frame and contents weigh about 3 pounds before any packing materials. 14 years ago. My mother-in-law came to live with us. Recently widowed, she left her house as it was, came to Oregon and said she was never going back home. We told her we would pack her house up, pack EVERYTHING, and bring here for her to sort through at her pleasure. Her house was much like a museum. She was an avid and well known antique dealer and collector in Los Angeles in the mid to later 1900's. We moved over 700 boxes of items from her house. Along with many pieces of furniture. 1 of her pieces has been on the Antique Road Show. I built a 7000 sq. foot building to accommodate all her collections. She never opened a box. She died about 7 years ago. And we have just begun the process of going through the boxes ourselves. It is an arduous process. Some items will go to concession dealers. Some are given away, some things donated, ... moresome are kept and some things are offered here. I used to write a bit of the history at the beginning of each ad. I have decided to write this, and when a bit of provenance fits, I will include this introduction. These items were collected many years ago by a very sweet and knowledgeable lady. Wish she was here to tell me about each item we offer, but, I am on my own, and will do my best to describe. This is a beautiful picture. In a gorgeous oak frame. I know a little about how the picture came to us, it was bought by my mother in law(see above) in an antique auction many years ago. She was an antique dealer, but bought this for her self. I am not a dealer. I have the task of sorting through her life's possessions. I wish she was here, but I waited too late to ask about the things we have stored for over 15 years.
