Its exterior dimensions are approx 12 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches and it is 1 1/8 inches high. The frame has been restored, including refinishing of the mahogany and is in very good condition. I just love these deep antique shadow box frames. I have graduation pictures of all of my children in them- so much nicer than a cheap plastic frame. This walnut shadowbox has the intact gold liner. It is carved on the outer edge making it unique. The wood is in excellent shape but is dusty and needs a good polishing. Small Antique Mid 19th Century Mahogany Veneer Frame Lemon Gold Gilt Liner
This is a small antique mid-19th century period mahogany or possibly rosewood veneer frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. It dates from around the 1840s to 1850s. And possibly earlier. It has a lovely old finish. But given its age. It has a number of small imperfections. But the overall look is quite beautiful. Overall. The frame measures 6 3/4 inches by 10 9/16 inches(17.2 cm x 26.8 cm) The back opening size is 4 7/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches(12.4 cm x 22.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 5/8 inches(4.3 cm) The frame itself is very thick at 1 3/8 inches(3.5 cm) The issues: there is a slight separation at each of the corners where the wood meets. It has a tiny dent in the top left-hand corner of the frame. It has numerous light scratches on it. But the veneer is fairly thick so they still look dark. There is an approximately 1/4 inch by 1/8 ... moreinch chip in one corner of the frame. Next to it are some dents and small scratches(please see photos) The liner is worn at places and the gray is showing through. It has half of the original hanging piece on the back. But is missing the ring part. You can see the sheets of gilding on the liner. The liner has a tiny chip in one corner and two in another corner(please see photos) I believe there was glass at the front. Then something sitting in it, and then a back to keep it in place, forming a shadowbox(please see photo) The back itself is made deep by an additional layer of wood attached to it. I've secured the liner in place with frame staples. It has its original wavy and bubbled glass. But it has some scratches and scuff marks to it. It would be great for an old oil painting. Drawing, folk art work, sampler, fraktur, silhouette, etc. It weighs just over 1 pound(454 g) It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look! Antique Biedermeier Black & Brown Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Wood Frame
This is a very handsome antique Biedermeier black and brown wood frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. I'm going to date it 1920s. But it may be just before or just after. Overall. It measures 8 9/16 inches x 11 3/16 inches(21.75 cm x 28.42 cm) I can't measure the back opening size due to the wooden backing. So I'm going to give you the site edge on front of the frame instead. It measures 6 3/8 inches x 8 7/8 inches(16.19 cm x 22.54 cm) The molding is 1 1/8 inches wide(2.86 cm) The grain on this frame is just beautiful. It looks like mahogany veneer with black ebonized corners. It has great looking. Well made lap joints at the corners. It has its original easel back. But it's badly attached(please see photo) However, it stands up fine. It has some slight damage to it. There's a tiny chip on the lemon gold gilt liner along ... morethe bottom. The ebonized black square in the top left-hand corner has a crack going through it along with some very tiny cracks. There's a small chip on the top. A little to the right of the middle. There's also a small chip on the bottom right-hand corner(please see photo) It has a number of tiny dings/nicks on it, but they seem to just blend in with the frame. However, the ones along the bottom of the frame do stand out a bit. The frame also has light scratches on it. The colors and patina are really beautiful. It has its original wavy glass. It's a sturdy. Well made frame. It would be great for an old oil painting. Drawing, folk art work, sampler, fraktur, silhouette, etc. It has what I always look for in frames. Large Antique Birdseye Maple Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Portrait Frame
This is a beautiful large antique Birdseye maple veneer and lemon gold gilt liner portrait frame. It dates sometime from the mid to later 19th century. Overall. It measures 27 7/8 inches x 33 7/8 inches(70.8 cm x 86 cm) The back opening size is 23 7/8 inches x 29 7/8 inches(60.6 cm x 75.9 cm) The site edge is 22 1/8 inches x 28 1/4 inches(56.2 cm x 71.8 cm) The molding measures 2 3/4 inches wide(7 cm) This is a really nice frame! It has a gorgeous rich color and lots of detailed birds eyes. It also has great width. You can actually see the sheets of gold leaf that were originally layed down on the liner. It was made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. The veneer is 95% intact on three sides. But only 65% intact on one of the long sides. The corners are each missing a little veneer. Fortunately, due to the darkness of the underlying ... morewood, it hardly shows. There are some missing pieces of veneer to the front. On the left molding. There's about a 1" chip off the liner in the upper left-hand corner. There's a 3" x 0.25" and another 1" x 0.25" piece of the veneer missing. On the top molding there is a 1.5" x 0.5" deep chip and a 3" x 0.25" piece of missing veneer on the upper right-hand corner. On the bottom molding there is a.75" by.25" chip. I've photographed most of these close-up. These are the major issues. There are a few small nicks. Scratches and missing veneer, but they don't stand out. Over time. Oxidation or perhaps someone's touchups have darkened the spots where the veneer is missing. But it still blends in well with the Birdseye Maple. The frame has developed a really beautiful. Rich looking patina. It would be great for an old oil painting. Folk art work, large sampler, fraktur, etc. It weighs 3 lbs. 7 oz. 1.57 kg) It has what I always look for in frames. Very solid and well-constructed, see photos for detail. LARGE ANTIQUE DEEP WALNUT FRAME WITH ANTIQUE PRINT Walnut frame and antique print are both circa 1860– 1880’s. The print– a pensive woman at her writing desk. With her dog near her, pulling the feathers off of the woman’s bonnet– very sweet! The dog looks like a King Charles spaniel. Antique print is in good condition–black and white with good detail to the engraving. There is a small margin(about 1/2 inch at the bottom of the print with some faded printing– one side has the artist who painted the scene(Hartwich) and the other side looks like the publisher– I can make out the word BerlinLouisenstr– printing is very light. Framed in an early Victorian walnut frame with original Victorian gold tone liner and ebonized accents- both in good original condition– maybe just a few very minor discolorations on the gold tone liner and some“use” marks ... moreon the walnut– see my pictures. The outer corners of the frame are tight– no wiggle. No spaces. Frame has glass and an old stretcher backing behind the print to protect it– see photos of side and back of print. Frame outside edges measure 20 ½ inches by 26 ¾ inches. Frame& contents weigh about 8 pounds before any packing materials. Originally we thought it to be a liner but the outside of it is too clean so it must in fact be an actual simple 3/8" grecian gold frame. Only minor touch ups needed- your framer should have Grecian Gold Rub-n-Buff as they'll need to cut the glass or mirror for you to fit this. A great little piece. Back of print was reinforced long ago– see photo. Old mat– probably original to the frame. Finish on the walnut is in good condition with deep rich color– a few superficial“use” marks visible close-up. Frame was made in 4 parts– see wood joints on the back. Joints in the frame are tight– no wiggle. Gold-tone liner looks like original finish. But the shine on the finish has partially worn down, with some discolorations. Up for auction is an antique Victorian era deep well walnut frame with lemon gold liner recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good to very good used condition. The old original eye hooks and wire remain. But the glass may be a replacement. This frame will accommodate a 9" x 7" picture, but can be changed to accommodate a horizontal piece as well. At some point this has been reglued- typical as glue from that era does not usually make it into this age. The whole piece overall is 9" x 11" x 1 1/2" in size. Currently a print is in this piece. Offered for sale is a nice antique oval walnut frame. This dates from around 1860. And is in good condition. It has a gold liner that is removable. The inside size of the frame is 8" X 10" at the widest part. The outside is just under 11" X 13" The frame is 2" wide. Sight size is 6 3/4" X 8 3/4" The rabbet depth is only about 1/4" with the liner in the frame. I found a piece of glass that will fit this frame, so can send that along if you'd like. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WALNUT FRAME circa 1880– 1900’s– contains vintage print- 2 little girls with a basket with bunnies. The print is probably circa 1950’s– 1960’s. Probably a vintage copy of a Victorian print. The print is in good condition. No tears, no stains, no fading. The print is not matted– mounted on cardboard with fabric trim around the outside of the print. The antique walnut frame is in good condition– original gold tone liner and original matte finish on the walnut. Curved walnut molding for the frame. The color of the walnut is better than it looks in my pictures– some of my pictures make it look too dark– pictures of corners are a more accurate color. Outer measurements of the frame are 18 inches by 22 inches. Measured from the back. Has old glass and cardboard backing. Frame molding is 1 ¼ inches deep from the side.
