The pair probably dates from the early 1900's and are in great condition. All of the corner leaves are present though one does have a tip of a leaf missing. Each frame measures 14 3/4" x 12 3/4" The frames will hold photos 10 1/4" x 8 1/4" One frame includes an old photo of the family home with a man and a woman on the porch. The second photo is a class picture for the Constantia School Pupils. This is obviously a one room all grade schoolhouse and i would estimate the photo to be from the 1880's or 1890's. This Adirondack-style picture frame is a true antique and is appropriate for pictures from 1850 to 1899. The pictures you see are not included. As they are personal family photos. Applied carved walnut leaves on each corner– original to the frame. Top carving on each side is done to look like pieces of wood– like pieces of a tree. Contains an old print– an illustration from a book on flowers and plants. This one has SNOWDROPS– an early spring late winter plant that appears when the snow starts to melt. Outer measurements of the frame are 11 ¼ inches by 13 ¼ inches. Has glass and old cardboard backing. Frame molding is just less than 2 inches deep from the side.
