ANTIQUE VICTORIAN DEEP WALNUT FRAME WITH BLACK EBONIZED WOOD ACCENT AROUND THE OPENING FOR THE GLASS AND NEAR THE OUTER EDGE OF THE FRAME. Frame is circa 1880’s– 1890’s. Original finish on the walnut frame in good condition. The frame contains an antique print from the same era– 1880– 1890’s– looks like an engraving or etching with color accent on the woman’s dress and hat. The picture is a graceful woman ice skater. With a fur muff. Hazy snow background. This may be an illustration taken from an antique book. Two names on the lower side of the print– see photo– one looks like C. H.Kuechler and…R Bon… on the lower right side– not clear. Outer measurements of the frame are 14 inches by 16 inches. No reserve for this really nice antique American Victorian era(circa 1880) solid walnut frame with original fancy scrolled cast iron decorative corners. Great for artwork or photos. Frame can be hung horizontally or vertically to suit your purpose. Frame features a removeable gold gilt liner if desired, ebonized black banded detail, original double oval matte, and original glass. Even retains the original backer board. Very solid and well-constructed, see photos for detail. The frame measures approximately 15" x 13" and the interior(sight from front, not including matted area) measures about 7 5/8" x 9 5/8" will accommodate an 8" x 10" picture nicely, or 9" x 11" with gilt liner removed. Condition: excellent. There are a few very minor nicks and tiny abrasions, nothing obtrusive, but no large chips, ... morestains, or cracks. No chips, cracks, or losses to the iron corners either. Eastlake Walnut & Ebonized Deep Picture Frame w/Tintype Photo; 8x10" Opening
This is a very deep Eastlake picture frame that is primarily made of walnut. But has a strip of carved, ebonized decoration, along with 2 gilded areas. There is an old thick mat under the glass, which has a gold oval opening and a tintype picture of a young man wearing a hat. There is a think wood backing slab, and an old hanging wire. The frame is 14 3/4" tall by 12 3/4" wide at the outer edges. The picture opening is 8" by 10" The depth of the frame is 3 1/2" It is in excellent condition. With no damage to the varnished wooden areas, and no damage of the ebonized area, although there is a little fine crazing. There is some discoloration of the gold gilded areas( just small brownish streaks or smudges) The wood backing slab is loose and needs fastened to the picture with longer nails, but it is undamaged and is the ... morecorrect size. The thick old mat has a little darkening with age, but no actual stains. I am willing to combine more than one item in a package to lower your shipping costs. BEAUTIFUL INCISED EASTLAKE VICTORIAN WALNUT& EBONIZED FRAME. Circa 1860’s– 1880’s. Original gold tone liner with original incised ebonized 4 panels is in good condition around the gold tone liner. Outer measurements of the frame are 12 ½ inches by 14 ½ inches. The frame can be used vertically or horizontally. Opening size for the glass is 8 inches by 10 inches inside the gold liner. Frame has old glass with a few bubbles and old wood backing. Tiny“chip” on the inside lower edge of the glass– not visible when glass is in frame. Frame is solid– no wiggles. Corners are good. The frame is a beautiful Victorian accessory. A few minor discolorations on the ebonized finish with the incised design– unusual to find the incised design in such good condition. The frame is walnut with original finish in pretty good condition– only a few ... moresuperficial“use” scratches. The frame with the glass and old wood backing is less than 3 pounds before packing. 19th century three-level. Ebonized walnut. Carved, Eastlake frame with original Miller Family photograph dated 1823 with glass. Outer level is ebonized deep-well walnut. Middle inner level is painted burl wood finish with incised corners. Bottom level is stenciled silver leaf. Circa mid19th century Overall. Frame measures 20.5" high x 16.5" wide x 3" deep. The back opening size is 16.5" x 12" Three-level molding is 3" wide. Some scuffs and a small spot of finish loss outer walnut. Middle, right side.
