Up for auction is a very unique Antique Chinese or Japanese Wood Decorated Fan Frame with three prints of Geisha's. This piece is out of an estate of unique Asian Pieces. Such as some I have already sold. This large hanging wall Fan Frame has three windows with antique colored prints under glass. The body itself is wood with high relief painting designs such as the trees with laquer wood. There are a few issues through out this piece, chipping, a crack by on of the photos to the tree as seen clearly in the photo, also at the base of the fan, some early restoration seems present but not much. The back of the three frames are held by nails that may need reinforcing. Overall, a unique piece as you can see for these photos. Measures 32' long and 19' high. Antique American Gold Leaf Picture Frame, Gilt Frame, Old Glass, circa 1850
Offered for sale we have an antique gold leaf picture frame. Probably dating from 1840 to 1860. This is a dark gold frame, that I think has darkened a bit more with age. The rabbet size is 24" X 15 7/8" with about 1/8" allowance) the outside of the frame is 26 1/2" X 18 1/2. The moulding is 1 5/8" wide. Besides the glass and old paper back, there's another 1/4" of rabbet depth. This is a great antique frame, but it does have some condition issues. As you can see in the pictures, there are chips on all four corners. Though there are chips, the gesso and gold leaf on the frame is firmly attached an has no inclination to chip any more. The bottom rail has darkened with age, and has dark discoloration in the cove. This you can see in the 6th picture. There are spots on the gold, but especially on the right hand ... moreside, in the cove. The frame was joined with splines, then nailed at a later date. The two upper corners are not tight, as you can see in the pictures. There's a chip on the side of the upper left hand corner that is not pictured, it would be close to the wall, not visible from the front. The side of the frame cants in a bit at the back, towards the wall. The frame has nice. Old wavy glass, a Victorian print, and thin crummy old paper backing. Due to the discoloration on the bottom side, this frame really should be used the way it's hanging now. It would be great for an antique portrait, early sampler, or vertical still life or landscape. It would not look good with the darkened rail being on the side, I think it would look lopsided. Please look carefully at the photos, and ask a question if you have one. Personally, I love these old, hard to find gilt frames, but this one is far from perfect, and if the defects bother you, I'm sure there are many frames in better condition available. The back opening measures 10 1/8 x 13 7/8" so it will accomodate artwork up to that size. It is made of plastered gilt pine. As is the case with most American frames made back then. It comes with glass. The frame has some minor wear and tear but nothing abusive. I purchased this beautiful beaded frame at an auction in Thunder Bay. Ontario, Canada in 2009 at a first nations reservation. The frame is 6" wide and 9" long. This is a lovely. Antique Eastlake frame dating from 1860- 1890 and it is in very good condition. Even the glass appears to be authentic with slight waves& a few tiny bubbles. The overall measurements are 14" wide and 16" tall and 3.25" deep. The interior print/ photo window is 8" by 10" Construction on this lovely 3-tier frame: ~ Outer- Solid Walnut with a thin gilt groove along entire front top surface. The walnut is beveled and 2" deep. ~ Middle- Multi- beveled; gilted level and a black/ gilt cross hatch design level. Total 1" depth. ~ Inner- 1/2" of beveled. Black wood, 1" of faux marble(deep green) etched on each corner with stem of flowers. Then the inner most liner is gentle bevel of gilt/ gold. There is overall patina. Commensurate with age, which adds to the antique value. There is ... morealso one, approximately 1" surface scrape along the left top back edge- barely noticeable and hidden behind a rolled walnut bevel. As for the print and backing- A lovely lady portrait in Victorian finery. The back(wall side) is covered in soft green felt. 10.5" by 12.75" which appears newer and professionally added at a later date. Along with a sawtooth hanger. Lovely antique gilt gold Victorian frame/fits a 14" X 20" painting/circa 1880
This is a really pretty and beautifully designed Victorian frame made around 1880. While I cannot be sure. It looks like it is finished in metal leaf. It is made to fit a painting that is 14" by 20, so it's a common and sought-after size Overall size is 19" by 25. Condition is as found and as shown. Has a few minor losses- the most obvious being some liner loss of the sand and gold mixture. While I do not see that as a major problem, it's an easy fix by making your own sand/gold mixture and gluing it in place. This is a really sweet design that will enhance any pice of 19th century art. Antique Ogee Frame/circa 1840s/beautiful condition/original glass/1840s print
This is a wonderful. Circa 1840s Ogee frame, with original glass and an 1840s engraving of Da Vinci's Last Supper, engraved by Oliver Pelton, a famous, 19th century print and currency engraver from Hartford, CT. I have not taken it apart and my guess is that they were put together in the period. Sight size of the print is about 10" by 16&1/2. Overall frame size is about 15&3/4" by 22&1/2. Rabbet size of the frame(from the back) is 10&1/2" by 17&1/4. Condition is as found and as shown. The engraving looks to be in very good condition with minor spotting and age toning. There may be a slight crease or perhaps pencil mark lower center- I cannot tell what it is but it is slight. The glass is very old( I suspect original) showing some bubbles. The Ogee frame is just beautiful and certainly complements the ... morepicture, as it will for any art you choose to put in it. Please look at all of my photos for best idea of condition. It has one small imperfection in upper left outside edge- that may have been in the wood used- I can't tell, but it's been there for many decades. Large 33”X 40” Antique Silver Leaf Gilt Lemon Gold Frame – Circa 1880
This is a great large old hard to find frame in very good condition. It measures 33” by 40” inches on the outside and the site size(inside measurements) are 26 ½” by 33 ½” and it is 3” wide. Just like my other two frames it’s got great deep gold color and a nice shine and it’s in fantastic condition waiting for that special item or a mirror to be framed. It’s in great condition! There is normal aging and very little chipping. You will be very pleased with this frame as its not painted gold like many of the others you will find on Ebay! Circa 1915 Wood ANTIQUE 4-Part Silver Leaf Velvet Frame Girl White Dress Photo
A very exciting offering not just because of the large gorgeous period frame. But also because of the fabulous original photograph in it- which is inscribed on the back with a name and date! Read on. If you follow the photos I will try to describe what you are seeing. This may be an Edwardian or slightly post-Edwardian period frame. Corresponding to the Gilded Age of the US, as well as the beginning of World War I. It is extremely intricate and far different than any I have seen before. It is done in silver leaf on 3 of the 4 separate frame parts; the 4th was a vivid red velvet(you can still feel the soft velvet part in the crease) and now is 99- 100 year old light red fabric- still intact. Just not the soft velvet top. The overall measurements are approximately 25 1/2" wide x 29 1/2" long; the photograph is about 15 5/8" wide ... morex 19 1/2" long. The extreme outer(first part) of the frame has an intricate wavy-lined background with raised carved flowers and leaves alternating with a lovely swirl that forms a large leaf-like pattern. The wood itself is approximately 1/2" thick but this first part cascades from the wall. Up to the second part of the frame, giving the entire piece much more depth. It is approximately 2 1/4" wide. This section has a couple of chips of silver along the very bottom edge(probably from people propping it up) and a couple along the very bottom where this section meets the second section.When hung, you can barely see those because the second section protrudes and hides them. There are also some chips of silver on the other three edges, here and there- nothing huge. There is also a tiny missing piece in the upper right hand corner and a tiny chip on the angle joint. The second part of the frame appears to look like a half round tree trunk with a twiggy pattern running up and down the trunk. But. Then wrapped around the twigs are belts fastened by detailed belt buckles. This is by far one of the most interesting patterns in a frame I have ever seen; and at first you

Antique Tabletop Double engagement/Marriage Swivel Picture Frame Circa 1910
Tabletop Picture Frame Double Swivel Wooden 2- 4 x 6 openings. Frame measures 10 inches high by 11 inches across. Stamp on back is from Britain Photography in Canyon Texas The number on the back is 10. I believe this to be the year of the photos. This was purchased from a wonderful old estate in which there were many items from 1900 to 1940. This frame is in very nice shape. There is some paint rubbed off the top as shown in the pictures. There is felt on the bottom. Paint is brown with touches of gold. As can be seen the there are touches of cream and green.

Small Antique Walnut Frame with Gilt Edging Circa Late 1800's Adirondack Design
Up for auction is a walnut Victorian frame. Adirnondack design with intricate carving. No defects noted. Minor scratches on gold insert, commensurate with age. I do not touch up my antique pieces as I am a purist and would prefer the buyer to make modifications. This is an unusal piece and in my antiques career, I have never come across this type of frame in such a condition. Carvings are not damaged, which is usually the case. Purchased at an estate sale in Maine. Approximate exterior measurements are 12 x 14 x 1 inches. Interior measurements are 8 x 10 inches. Glass is included. ANTIQUE N.B.I.W. Cast Iron& Brass PICTURE FRAME Circa 1890's Includes Authentic Original Wedding Photo Found with the Frame! Extremely nice N.B.I.W. marked cast iron frame with gold gilt and black"pebbled" interior. Brass oval ring around the photo. Brass table support and hardware. N.B. I.W. stands for National Bronze and Iron Works and was established in 1891, specializing in manufacturing fine decorative brass and iron objects until it went out of business in 1911. This frame is very ornate with extensive gold gilt scrolling. It measures 10" high by 7" wide. The oval opening measures 5-1/4" high by 3-1/2" wide. It is marked on the back"N.B.I.W. and"2009" which is the model number. I removed the glass and picture to examine them. The glass appears to be rough cut and has several chips ... moreon the edge that can not be seen. The picture is authentic and the period dress suggests that the frame was a wedding gift that later received the photo, sometime in the late 1890's. The picture is affixed to thick paperboard. Condition: Very good overall. No breaks or cracks in the cast iron and the paint and gilt are in good condition with only a small amount of tarnish and paint wear. As mentioned above. The glass has rough edges, but they don't show. The glass and frame both need cleaned. See high resolution pictures for more! This is a wonderful frame and the authentic period photo is fantastic. A lovely Victorian wood picture frame with tiger wood grain. Convex bubble glass and a portrait of a lady. Her picture has extra highlights on her earrings and hair. The glass is original and is convex dome bubble glass. The frame is made of wood with a thin layer of plaster over it, then painted with a brown and black tiger grain design. The frame is age appropriately worn and has light plaster chips on sides which you can see best in the third photo. There is cardboard backing which is not original to the piece.
