This is an incredible antique inlay. Inlaid handcarved folk art primitive wood picture frame. The original finish has not been touched. It is probably from the 1930s. I believe the wood is pine with a couple of other woods mixed in. Since the frame was probably near heat. It has developed one of the best crackling finishes I've ever seen. Because the photo is an African-American man. I believe he or a family member or friend made it. Antique/Vintage 1800's Hand Carved Tramp Art Frame. Great Condition, 17" x 13" Up for sale is an antique Folk art/Tramp art picture frame with an old picture in it. The frame is what they call Tramp Art. Over a 100 years old, hand made folk art. It's a really neat frame and definitely is old. All wood with inner Gold trim. It's in really good shape. The front has very little wear/tear, it looks like there was an additional leaf on the other top left corner, but not positive, It's solid and complete. The inside trim is gold and shows some wear. The back has no wire, Will need to be replaced. It has just about all it's nails on the back to hold the picture, very rustic backing with one split and a crack so the back piece will also would need proper repairing, there is one chunk out of the back left corner of the ... moreframe(see picture) still has the eye loops for wire, no glass.this is a great piece for collectors. The picture is an old print of the residence of Alvin Buck Esq. Co.unfortunately someone wrote $2.00 on it. I am not sure when, this frame came from a friend who has had it for many years, but the frame is the most collectible. The actual opening for the picture measures approx. 14 1/2" long x 11" tall The outside dimensions are: 17" long x 13" tall from side to side. It appears to be hand-made of six parts that are dovetailed together perfectly and beautifully. It frames a piece of Victorian beadwork that is lovely as well. Up for offering is an antique ornate Arts and Crafts wood picture frame with an adorable mother and child E. Dunton print. The frame measures 14 1/2" tall by 11 1/2" wide. The inner picture frame measures 12" tall by 9" wide. Has a few light chips and scratches in the wood frame. The frame corners are nailed together but looks like it was produced this way. The frame looks to be hand carved.

Sea Shell Picture Frame Victorian Memory Ware Antique Folk Art Box Water Color
This is a very interesting and beautiful frame covered entirely in sea shells it measures 15" tall by 12.5" wide and about 3" back to front of top shell. The picture inside is an original signed water color of what I think are Greek or roman ruins probably one of those paintings tourist brought home from a trip. I can't make out the signature. The condition is very nice other than it need a good cleaning it has been in an attic for a long time and is extremely dusty and dirty but I didn't want to damage it by cleaning. Antique Adirondack Victorian Folk Art Carved Picture Frame L. Lang 1860 Print
This is a charmer in so many ways. For both the frame and print. The frame is rustically carved wood, a late Victorian piece with definite folk art leanings. Inside is a terrifically evocative print of a young girl toiling over the laundry tub, her doll nearby on a spindle bed, a tea set on the table. She is dressed in a short skirt with bloomers peeking out, stockings and lace-up boots. An apron and scarf complete the look. It is signed L. Lang 1860. The frame looks to accommodate a 7 inch by 9 inch print. The frame itself is 9 inches by 11 inches and measures 13 inches by 15 inches with the extensions. There is a bit of wear, especially evident on the upper left extension as shown in the photos. Also, the gold inner frame has some wear, mostly along the top.

FAUX BOIS Grain Painted Folk Art OLDorig GOLD GILDED Federal ART PICTURE FRAME
Up for auction is this great old antique frame with an apparently interesing paint history. At one time in it's past it was completely gold gilded. There are traces of the gold under the brown paint and under the orange grain painted columns on all sides. It is now an orange and cream folk art grain painted design on the raised columns with duller gold bands with that shiny gold gilding peeking through all over. Three of the corners have a round metal decoration, 1 corner is missing the metal. The construction is sound, all corners are tight, there is no wobble. Antique Black Forest Wood Carved Picture Frame. This is a beautifully carved and layered frame with a wood back and very old nails. This is hand carved and the pieces fit together like a puzzle. I would say it has four layers. The frame has nice dimension. The picture in the frame was purchased with the frame and is a studio picture from Detroit, Michigan. It is of five females and has been tinted after developing and has that silver shine look.Sorry, old pictures confuse me) The glass in the frame was hand cut period glass and all of the pieces of wood are hand cut, as is the backing. The wire mounting wire is old and rusty. The picture is 4 x 2 1/2 and the frame measures 6 3/4" x 5 5/8" Very nice antique and it will be even prettier all cleaned and polished. Antique Primitive Rustic Folk Art Painted Double Picture Frame 4 X 6 Openings
This is a very cool looking antique primitive rustic folk art painted double picture frame. It's hard to know the exact age. But I'd estimate late 19th to early 20th century. It definitely has great age. Overall it measures 11 1/8 inches x 7 1/2 inches(28.3 cm x 19.1 cm) Each back opening size is 4 1/8 inches by 6 1/8 inches(10.5 cm x 15.6 cm) The molding is 7/8 inches wide(2.2 cm) This frame is all original and untouched. The finish has that great bubbling and crackling to it. Usually caused by heat such as from a fireplace. There are some very small areas with loss of paint. But nothing that takes away from the beauty of the frame. Each side has its original piece of bubbled and wavy glass. Though the edges are cut a little crooked. But they still look fine in the frame. The patina on this frame is just beautiful. It weighs a little ... moreover 13 1/2 ounces(384 g) It would be great for a pair of modern photos. Old oil paintings, drawings, folk art works, samplers, silhouettes, etc. It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look!

Tramp Art was woodworking where small pieces of wood, primarily from discarded cigar boxes and shipping crates, were carved/ whittled into layers of geometric shapes having the outside edges of each layer notch carved. It was popular in the years between the 1870s to the early 1930s when the art form declined due to World War II. The craftsmen used simple tools such as a pocketknife to carve the wood and assemble mostly utilitarian objects. Tramp art was popular in Germany, Austria, German areas of Switzerland and the United States, and some of the finest examples were made in the Black Forest(Schwartzwald) of Germany. The most common forms were the box and the picture frame and although there were no rules or patterns to lend commonality in the artists’ work there were objects made in every conceivable shape and size including full sized furniture and objects of whimsy. Tramp Art was a democratic art form made where the raw materials used in its construction were found.
