Here is a wonderful antique carved and gilt wood oval frame circa 1900. The print in the frame is older but we do not believe it is original. The frame is approx. 5.25" tall including the ball feet and not the loop on top. The frame is approx. 4" wide and the opening is approx. 3.5" long by approx. 2.25" wide. Beautiful Antique French Photo Frame. Circa 1900 in a lovely cream and celadon colour with floral interior border in the shape of a heart with small to larger thumbprints border meeting in center. I believe this is made of celluloid or bakelite, not sure. No glass front. I don't think there ever was glass(not enough room to slide in) Condition commensurate with age. Minute areas, mainly flower petals and bottom missing. Original picture included on cardboard. This incredible frame is close to 100 years old and shows only minor scattered wear to gold gilt, tiny seperations at corners and age, nail heads around outer sides. This would be an outstanding addition to any work of Art, painting or print. Over all size of frame is 11 1/2" x 14 1/2" and will hold a 9" x 12" painting or print with depth of 7/16" where art goes.
