The pulleys were found painted, rusty, and dirty(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished each pulley to the best of our ability. We also sprayed WD40 in the inside of each pulley to facilitate the movement of their wheels. Now, they work very well and are ready to be re-used for another 100+ years! The pulleys have small nicks and scratches here and there. Which are typical for antique hardware. Some pulleys also have some subtle pitting, however, the pitting is minor and only adds to the pulleys' aged, distressed look.
