But no major breaks or repairs, and only a bit of dirt and corrosion. It has been sitting in storage for at least 50 years. A bit of polish will fix it right up. Old Antique 1880's Victorian Cast Iron Transom Wooden Window Pull. I believe it is in original condition with original fire engine red paint. And solid medium to dark wood. This has been in my family for over 50 years.It was given to my Mother in the 1970's by her dear elderly lady friend. This is the first I have seen like this outside of hardware books. It would be great to use or just display. It has a small piece of the original handle in the base. It originally was on the top of a long pole to reach high transom windows. I believe the handle was cut shorter many years ago. This tool is in good condition. It has tarnished a little over the years. These were used to pull top sash down on high windows in libraries and churches. The hook was inserted into the sash pull plate to pull them down. I washed it with water to remove dirt and dust.
