You are bidding on One Antique East Lake Victorian Cast Iron Window Sash Latch Lock with Keeper. The lock measures 2 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide. The keeper measures 2 1/4" long and about 1/2" wide. There is minor surface rust on the piece and is marked on the bottom Pat'd Feb 7 1871. There is paint residue on the bottom of both pieces. I do not see any chips. Breaks or missing parts. This is an old piece and is not perfect. I am not an expert so please examine the pictures closely and determine condition for yourself. I did not clean them becuase some people like the"chippy" look. The paint does come off relatively easy. All of them turn freely. Some need a little more effort than others but all do move easily. These are not solid brass, they are some sort of cast brass because they are magnetic. You will receive 6 screws with eash set as well. Most of the screws are like the ones pictured, I do have some that are phillips head. By chance you dont need or want the screws please let me know. I recently acquired several large boxes of vintage hardware from a Simmons Hardware in McComb Ohio. Alot of these items are in a marked boxes and have hand writing on the from the old school fountain pens or even quill pens.not real sure. The latch is a smooth metal with a cast ornate pattern and takes two wood screws(not included) The'catch' looks more like a hammered steel or iron with a similar but different pattern along the outside edge that would show. It also takes 2 wood screws(not included) The latch works nicely and fits the catch like they were made together, but I do not think they began life together.
