Vermont Federal house. All of these shutters have original green milk paint and their original hardware. They were recently taken off a house on a repaint. Please note that at least 10 sets have original strap hinges and hand cut screws and are around the 1820 period with the balance of shutters having original hardware and paint. Dating from around the 1840’s. The later shutters were from an early addition put on the house around 1840. All of the shutters have wooden pins holding the full mortise and tenon construction. Antique Wooden Wood Victorian Era Shutters Good Old Green Paint 4 Pairs 67 x 15"
This auction is for local pick-up only and features 4 pairs of antique wooden shutters. Each shutter measures approx. 67 ½ x 15 ¼ inches. There is a slight variance in width because one of the pair is the inner shutter and has a more pronounced“lip” to allow the outer shutter to rest in the fold. These are all matched pairs and are structurally sound. There are no missing slats. And the frames are solid with no fear of them falling apart. Of course, these have several layers of good old paint, and the paint of course has flaked in a few areas. No dry-rot, no holes. Here are a great set of antique window shutters from my old Victorian home. There are 3 pairs or 6 panels of window shutters. They measure 5 ft long and 38 inches wide per pair. And they are 1.5 inches thick. They are in very good condition except the one widow pane that got water damaged at the bottom of the window, see photos) All the trim moulding is present as well. Most have their original glass panes. There are 14 panes to each window. These are true divided panes. Up for auction is a pair of very old wood louvered exterior shutters in a deep sea green but has other older prior paint colors chipping in areas. They are from the era when shutters were made with wooden pegs(see photo#5) All the slats are adhered and in good condition but they do not louver. There are a total of 30 slats. 15 from the top, 15 on the bottom. The reverse side(photo#3& 5) has the original hardware. They measure 62" in length and 16" wide. Two pairs and the single measure 59-1/4” high. 15-1/2” wide, and 1-1/4” thick. The other pair measures 55-1/4” high. 15-1/2” wide and 1-1/4” thick. The panels are very solid with no rot. And all have hardware attached to the back for hanging. The shutters have raised panels. Bead board edges as well as a routed edge so that the shutters would interlock when they were closed. We are pleased to offer this wonderful pair of antique. Interior window shutters. The pair are of pine wood construction and feature 3 door, folding design. There are two louvered doors per shutter. The louvered doors are sectioned/divided with a top and bottom louvered section. Each shutter also has an outer paneled door. The panels are recessed and trimmed with molding. These are also divided into an upper and lower section. The shutters retain their original and ornate brass knobs and back plates. They also retain their lower locking mechanism. This is also brass and is quite ornate. When the doors are closed, this creates a shield and crown design. The upper locking mechanism is no longer present and is missing. The shutters are in good condition with expected wear and an aged condition. The louvers slide freely but not all of them stay ... moreopen and do need adjusting to correct. They are quite lovely. I have a pair of old New Orleans Shutters that I am listing today. They are from one of the old demolition projects. Post Katrina. I've been having them for a while now and have been using them for my props for photos and decorating my studio. They are very old and authentic. There shutters are unique because there is a screen on the back. They have all the pieces intact and are in good working order. I decorated them with an Iron work Fleur de Lis that you will receive with this listing. These shutters are not meant for hanging on windows but as historical piece for decorating or using as prop for photos or room divider would be perfect. There is so much history here and our ever changing city is always renovating and preparing the way for the next generation. I was told by the owner of the house that they were handmade for each window. The house was built in the 1850's and none of the windows were exactly the same size. I am not sure when these shutters we made but I'm guessing they are pretty old because they are made with 1" lumber. This set of shutters are 29" x 11 1/2" x 1" and are in very good condition. Pair of antique Victorian wood window shutters measure about 63" tall x 22 1/2" wide x 7/8" thick and are in as found condition. They have mortise& tenon/ pegged construction. Movable louvers and the remnants of old blue paint. Shutters are very weathered with some cracks, splits, chips to wood, imperfections from 100+ years of use. Louvers only move slightly due to layers of paint, a few louvers missing pin that attaches them to the tilt bar that moves them, frames slightly loose due to some pegs missing.

Up for auction are these vintage open arched shutters.There are a total of 8 panel measuring 8"x 32" each.They all have a grass insert on a paneling type wood. I believe a three panel and two panel went together which have porcelain knobs and wood framing all hinged. 2- 3 panel set measures 25"x32" total including frame 1-2 panel set measures 16"x32" shutters seem to be made out of pine A few panels have scrathes and frames are loose which were backed up with wood strips so a few could use some glue. Antique Arched Topped Solid Wood Shutters, w/blacksmithed latched & lock
This auction is for a pair of Colonial style 19th century arched topped. Solid wood shutters with forged latches& hinges. These pieces measure 66 3/4" on one side and 63 1/2" on the other side. They are 1 1/4" thick. The shutter with the slide latch is 17 1/4"wide the other side is 17 1/2"wide. They also have hinge mounts but not the mounting posts. There are also pull rings on both shutters. The panels are mortise& tenon. They have ship-lapped mating edges. There is a slide bar latch with friction stop. The hardware appears to be hand forged.

Wooden Pegs was used in the 1800's to put together Old Shutters and Windows also, Real Craft Work! Shutter Size is about 12"x 69 1/2" each, This is a Very Nice Vintage, As seen in pictures has small rot and missing wood, other than that, In Great Condition! As this is Sold as per Pictures for Condition and this in the pictures is the ones you are buying! If the shutter you are looking at has movable shutter slats, in most times shutters from the 1800's will have paint build up and, if you want them to open you may have to scrap some paint ... moreon sides to free up the shutter. And also on slats that open, may be missing a staple to center rod and may be unhooked and wil be able to open by hand if needed. As any Vintage Antiques may have small defects and may have a hole here and there. And will have scuffs and or some wood chips missing here and there as for the age. Antique solid wood shutters with cast iron hinges
Solid antique wooden shutters in great shape that include the complete cast iron 2 1/2 inch hinges. Minor damage(nail holes) where they were nailed to the house. Minimal water damage. Size for each shutter is 47 inches high. 14 inches wide, and 1 inch deep. Together with the hinges they weigh almost 25 pounds.
