Each sash lock measures approx. 2.75" long x 1.25" wide x 1" tall, they each have two mounting holes at either end. up for auction is One brass latch. We have 18 in total. buy 1 or All! each measure 5 1/2 inches long. One(1) antique cast brass window latch. Overall these are in very good condition. As seen some have more paint that others left on them. I did not clean them becuase some people like the"chippy" look. The paint does come off relatively easy. All of them turn freely. Some need a little more effort than others but all do move easily. These are solid brass. Please view pictures closely. This style and size and the fact that they are solid cast brass/bronze make these some of the hardest to find latches. With the price of brass and the fact that almost everything today is imported and made out of some type of cheap pot metal makes the likelihood of anything like these being made again slim to none. These are primarily used on casement ... morewindows but they work well and look great on cabinets or other places you’d like to use a unique looking latch. The latch and keeper will work on either right or left hand side of door or window. The latches are surface mounted and the keepers are mortised in the jam. I also have some on another listing that the keepers are surface mounted. The latches and keepers are cast bronze– brass. The working condition is very good with the latches having an age darken spotted patina(what you see is not rust. Brass doesn’t rust)

Antique Window Sash lock and catch, Ornate steel lock, wrought iron catch
We are offering a very nice old window latch or lock. Probably dating to the Victorian era. The latch is a smooth metal with a cast ornate pattern and takes two wood screws(not included) The'catch' looks more like a hammered steel or iron with a similar but different pattern along the outside edge that would show. It also takes 2 wood screws(not included) The latch works nicely and fits the catch like they were made together, but I do not think they began life together. There are 10 photos above from every angle I could find, so please look at them and enlarge or'zoom' on the ones that show the detail. The latch itself is about 2 5/8" at the base. With the space between screw holes at 2" center to center. Overall width, with the knob turned parallel, is about 3" The'catch' is slightly over 2" wide ... moreand the screw holes are about 1 5/8" center to center. If you have any questions.
