FAUX PAINTED SHABBY CHIC STYLE 6 PANE ANTIQUED VINTAGE WINDOW
Item: Faux Painted 6 pane"Shabby-Chic" Style Vintage Window Description: This auction is for a 6 pane Wooden-Window. I am a Faux Painter and painted this window to look old and very vintage. Overall. The color is various shades of Mauve with streaks of gold. Mauve is a light shade of burgundy. Not quite pink at all. And not purple. The window appears very aged with some spots more worn than others. Basically, the window appears as if it was once painted in mauve, then someone painted it in gold and what you are left with is a combination of both as time and weather did its thing to it. This method of faux painting is called“antiquing. Nothing is too uniform overall. I have made some spots appear more worn than others. Some areas are lightly crackled. Both sides are done using the same method but not completely identical. Lastly, ... moreafter the painting was done, I applied a thin coat of satin finish polyurethane for durability. It is NOT very shiny. It’s a very low luster sheen. In time, it will become even duller. The goal is to make the window appear as it aged naturally but have the confidence that the window is sound and is not going to fall apart since it really is a 30 year old window and not a 90 year old window as it now appears. Originally, the window is about from 1970. The window comes with a locking catch as well. It is also“antiqued. Many people use these windows as a decorative piece. They attach circle hooks and hang them with old chains in front of a natural light source, use them as cabinet doors or whatever you wish. The dimensions are as follows: 30” high and 19” wide. Each pane of glass measures 8.5” high and a bit more than 7” wide. The weight of the window alone is approx. 7 pounds. Other than that, I hope my pictures are worth a thousand words. Condition: The window is in complete sound condition. There are no cracks in the glass. The glass itself is great condition. There are some very minor scratches though. Vintage Antique 6 Pane Wooden Window with Mirror Panes.
Vintage window with mirrored panes installed. This one is a six pane window. All the old lead paint has been removed and the frame was then painted a light maroon. After that. I painted it white with a crackle finish to allow some of the maroon to show through. This gives it the appearance of being weathered. This particular one has a 5/8" x 7 1/4" shelf installed for knick knacks.Key hole slots are installed on the back to allow it to hang flat on your wall. I make these windows as I get them with many variations, such as color, antiquing style, shelves, planter boxes etc. and sell them at craft fairs and flea markets. You will love it! A vintage/ antique window pane featuring a Roaring 20's flapper girl with golf bag leaning against the front of a Studebaker or Nash from the era. Wood frame with a double glass pane and this painted or printed? image on the inside of the glass. The classy flapper has a tinted cloche hat and sweater with the rest done in outlined black. This piece was found at a farm estate in a small Texas town.no idea of the actual age. Pane and glass are sturdy. Vintage 1920's 3 Pane Cyress Window with glass from old home in New Orleans
This auction is for 1 Vintage 3 pane Cypress window with glass from 1920's This window was removed from my home dated built in 1927. All the millwork. Siding, and doors are cypress, so the windows are cypress also. The windows are weathered from sitting and from being on the house in need of some painting. Most of the putty was cracked and falling out of this window so I removed the remaining putty to have access to the glass panes.The 2 end panes still have a few of the metal wedges that held the glass in the frame in them. If you purchase this frame. When you unpack it and remove the shrink wrap to get to the foam board make sure the window is lying flat because the center pane may fall out. It has no putty holding it and I am guessing that the panes were hand cut and not quite tight in the frame. The panes DO fit right but not tightly. ... moreI had planned to make a message center with this frame putting magnetic chalkboard in one part. Cork bulletin in the center and white board on the last pane. I went with another frame for this idea. The frame can be hung horizontally or vertically. One side is mostly stripped of paint. This is a frame where very little work would be needed to complete a project. The glass panes measure 8 1/2"x 18" and the total frame measurement is 21 3/4" by almost 30" This frame is already packaged for shipping in a double lined styrofoam box and the shipping weight is about 13 pounds. These 2 Vintage window sash were removed from a house built in 1940. The wood frame size is approx. 30 x 25, t he 12 original glass panes are approx. 8 x 10- 1/2 each. S ome of the white paint is chipping. They have some dents and chips, as you can see in the picture, the putty around the gl ass might be cracked here and there. This auction is for 1 Vintage 2 pane Cypress window with glass from 1920's This window was removed from my home dated built in 1927. All the millwork. Siding, and doors are cypress, so the windows are cypress also. The windows are weathered from sitting and from being on the house in need of some painting. I had planned to make a message center with this frame putting magnetic chalkboard in one part. And cork board on the other side. The frame can be hung horizontally or vertically. This frame still has putty around the glass& old paint on it with chips everywhere.
