The item for sale is an antique reclaimed brass sash window handle with beehive ends that due to its age is being sold as seen so please study the photos as they form part of the description. Please bear in mind this is reclaimed and does have some minor knocks.Scrapes etc commensurate with age and use which I have tried to show in the close up photos but as brass is not very photogenic the flash has made the brass look darker than it is- bear in mind these are over 100 years old. The handle overall is 470mm long- the hand grip centre piece ... moreis 385mm long- all measurements approx. No makers name that I can see. I do have another one of these in the same size. Will be posted using a cardboard box or tube. Northern Ireland.Some Scottish postcodes and other non mainland areas will incur a surcharge though the Special Delivery is available to most. Vintage casement stay Old patent Window Limiter Stop brass lock reclaimed
A vintage brass stay for traditional casement windows. This is made of two arms. Which you attach by screwing the end plates into the wooden window surround and the frame. The two arms form an angle. And are linked by a central screw knob. You loosen the knob to adjust the angle. And tighten it to lock the window in place(open or closed) The arms are marked PATENT. But there is no maker's name. You will need 4 screws to fix the stay to the window and frame(these screws are NOT supplied) The stay measures about 11 inches(28 cm) from end to end when fully open. Weight 260g approx. Please note: this is a vintage hardware item. Designed to stop windows from being accidentally opened, or from flying open in the wind. It is NOT a safety device. And is NOT childproof. Condition Good condition. The mechanism works well. Marks. Scratches and scuffs ... morefrom normal use. There is some old paint on the item. As shown.
