Antique Floral WINDOW SASH LOCK Latch Ornate Victorian Eastlake Old Cast Iron
This is a nice antique window lock. Super Ornate. This old lock is solid iron. Circa 1870s-1880s. Condition is very good. No cracks or breakage. Just wear. It works perfectly, with smooth alignment to the catch every time. No sticking. No paint. Perfect original mounting holes. The lock side measures 2 5/8" wide by 1 1/8" deep. 5 Antique 1872 Eastlake Cast Iron Window Latch Sash Lock Hardware Stripped Bare
Up for auction is a set of 5 antique 1872 Easlake Victorian window latch locks plus one part. These have all been stripped to bare metal and lightly sprayed with lacquer to inhibit rust. Absolutely not reproductions! These had about 6 layers of paint. A bit of work got these to this point. Each measures 2 1/4" wide x 2" deep. Nice Eastlake design on the latch. These close by rotating the latch on the arch of the second half. It locks and squeezes the windows together to"seal" drafts. Three of these have the spring steel that allows you to keep pressure. Two are missing the spring steel. This is an easy fix by just cutting a small piece of spring steel and squeezing it into place. These still function without but work better with.
