Item: Faux Painted 6 pane"Shabby-Chic" Style Vintage Window Description: This auction is for a 6 pane Wooden-Window. I am a Faux Painter and painted this window to look old and very vintage. Overall. The color is various shades of Mauve with streaks of gold. Mauve is a light shade of burgundy. Not quite pink at all. And not purple. The window appears very aged with some spots more worn than others. Basically, the window appears as if it was once painted in mauve, then someone painted it in gold and what you are left with is a combination of both as time and weather did its thing to it. This method of faux painting is called“antiquing. Nothing is too uniform overall. I have made some spots appear more worn than others. Some areas are lightly crackled. Both sides are done using the same method but not completely identical. Lastly, ... moreafter the painting was done, I applied a thin coat of satin finish polyurethane for durability. It is NOT very shiny. It’s a very low luster sheen. In time, it will become even duller. The goal is to make the window appear as it aged naturally but have the confidence that the window is sound and is not going to fall apart since it really is a 30 year old window and not a 90 year old window as it now appears. Originally, the window is about from 1970. The window comes with a locking catch as well. It is also“antiqued. Many people use these windows as a decorative piece. They attach circle hooks and hang them with old chains in front of a natural light source, use them as cabinet doors or whatever you wish. The dimensions are as follows: 30” high and 19” wide. Each pane of glass measures 8.5” high and a bit more than 7” wide. The weight of the window alone is approx. 7 pounds. Other than that, I hope my pictures are worth a thousand words. Condition: The window is in complete sound condition. There are no cracks in the glass. The glass itself is great condition. There are some very minor scratches though. They are hardly noticeable and I only mention it for complete disclosure. Tr

A vintage/ antique window pane featuring a Roaring 20's flapper girl with golf bag leaning against the front of a Studebaker or Nash from the era. Wood frame with a double glass pane and this painted or printed? image on the inside of the glass. The classy flapper has a tinted cloche hat and sweater with the rest done in outlined black. This piece was found at a farm estate in a small Texas town.no idea of the actual age. Pane and glass are sturdy. Both louver sticks move up& down, you have to pull and turn them to work, there is 1 louver missing the little metal loop only, you can see it shut in the pictures. each have their lock shut cast iron hooks, and only 1 still has it's cast iron hinges, the other are missing. Antique Primitive Painted Iron Architectural Window Grate Fencing Gardening
Up for auction is a vintage antique iron architectural window grate recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good used condition. Window grates such as these were used in Philadelphia on Brownstone buildings so that windows at the street level window could be opened. But this grate being locked protected the home owner from uninvited intrusions. It has what appears to be original paint, which has many losses, with these unexposed ares showing considerable rust. There are losses and a break in one small section of this grate, best seen in photos#4-5 This piece is quite rusty and primitive. It does show a lot of character. Overall, this piece measures approximately 27" x 19" in size. There are some small nubs on the ends which adds another 1/4-1/2" These pieces are great for other application ... moresuch as garden fencing, headboards, wall art. This fantastic piece of Baltimore kitsch practically screams John Waters! This came out of a recently refurbished turn of the century Baltimore rowhouse; the owners were told by the previous owner that this was painted in the late seventies or early eighties by famed screen painter and freak show artist Johnny Eck. However. It isn't ... moresigned, so we will leave you to be the final judge(though we must also add that Mr Eck was known for not signing all of his screens, and this does look very much like his style) Kept in the basement for the last 20+ years. This shows fading, and there is a slightly indented bit to the screen near the right corner, but there are no tears to the screen. We've shown it to you with both a blue and an ivory background- the painting is much more readable with a darker background, as you can see. A rather more elaborate screen than is commonly seen, with a great little cottage with pond and path with trees, and the ubiquitous Baltimore swan in the foreground! Totally the best killer retro art thing to hang on the wall co you can watch Pink Flamingos! Some vintage dust and dirt as to be expected but no chips or cracks that we see. The landscape was neat and manicured. And many of the relatively modest brick and wood-frame buildings were clad in ivy. Long Island Sound surrounded the post, and while military etiquette and ceremony were ever-present, there were few weapons for fighting wars in evidence. When Fort Slocum closed in 1965. It contained around 80 buildings. There were other facilities as well: two piers, a seawall, a system of roads and paths, utility enclosures, a monument, a parade ground, an athletic field, tennis courts, wading pools, playgrounds, trailer park and two abandoned fortifications.
