Antique/Vintage Architectural Window Sash From 1800's Farmhouse.Some Wavy Glass
This is a really neat 4 pane window from an old farmhouse that was built in the early 1800's. I was there when it was torn down and the main part of the house was a log cabin that they had put hand planed poplar siding over. I'm guessing from talking with the owner of the old house that the windows were put in in the late 1800's around 1870 or 1880. I have 7 of them. All very similar in appearance and condition. The glass has wavy spots that are really interesting. The wood frame is very solid. The window could actually be cleaned up and reused! No rot or insect damage. The window frame is 28" X 28 3/4" X 1-3/8" The actual windows are 25-5/8" X 5-1/2" The nine pics shown are all of the same window.

They are in good vintage condition with no holes in the screens. There are signs of aging on the frames& some surface rust spots on some of the screens. Consistent with that of 60 to 75+ year old antique architectural items. These were used back in the day when there were no permanent screens on windows. This is one of many windows that I will be selling that have been removed from an old community center that is being renovated in Belmont. Texas. The proceeds from each this sale will go to the ongoing renovation project! Much to be done to preserve this wonderful old building! This is a genuine old sash window that is still in very good antique condition! The solid sheet of textured glass has a decorative tiny starburst design with no cracks. Nics or chips! There are many many years of paint layers on both sides which makes the overall look of the window priceless! The front of the frame is light yellow. The back is white. I did not clean them becuase some people like the"chippy" look. The paint does come off relatively easy. All of them turn freely. Some need a little more effort than others but all do move easily. These are not solid brass, they are some sort of cast brass because they are magnetic. You will receive 6 screws with eash set as well. Most of the screws are like the ones pictured, I do have some that are phillips head. By chance you dont need or want the screws please let me know. They all have 2131 casted into the bottom of the latch. Please view pictures closely. The two shown in the picture together have the numbers 5 and 2 printed on them. Not sure about the 2. Could be a 3) One weighs 5 lb 5 oz. and the other weighs 5 lb 8 oz. The one shown by itself is a different style with no markings on it. It weighs 5 lb 8 oz. Window weights are 90 years old. They are cast iron. So they have rusted over time. There is obvious corrosion to the metal, but they still perform the function they were meant to perform. The hole where the sash would loop through is still in good structural condition. These were removed from an old farmhouse in mid Missouri believed to be built in the mid 1870's for Judge Frye. These sashes are of mortise and tenon construction with wood pegs holding the tenons in the mortises. The sizes are quite large at(7) being 29" wide and 36" tall and(5) being 29" wide and 34" tall with rare 2 vertical panes. 4 sashes have all glass intact. 3 have one glass intact and 5 have no glass.
