Antique Victorian Iron Blacksmith-Made SHUTTER BAR With Keeper An old SHUTTER BAR-LATCH for use with wooden window shutters. It is blacksmith-made from rivetted iron. And the bar is 10 inches long. It is complete with the iron keeper which has a shaped guard- this may not be the original as it has a slightly different sized backplate, but is perfectly serviceable for use with this bar. There is nothing in the keeper to engage with the slot- it could be drilled for a pin if needed, though this is not really necessary. Here are a great set of antique window shutters from my old Victorian home. There are 3 pairs or 6 panels of window shutters. They measure 5 ft long and 38 inches wide per pair. And they are 1.5 inches thick. They are in very good condition except the one widow pane that got water damaged at the bottom of the window, see photos) All the trim moulding is present as well. Most have their original glass panes. There are 14 panes to each window. These are true divided panes. Two Pairs Solid Oak Window Shutters~Window Treatments!!
Two beautiful pairs of solid oak window shutters~4 total panels. These were an estate sale find. The shutters are stationary and do not move up and down. Most hardware is present. Some will need to be replaced. They are raw wood, not stained or coated. The grain of the oak wood is gorgeous with just one coat of polyurethane and if I were to keep these, I'd use poly on them. They measure 35" tall, 16-3/4" wide(each pair of 2 panels) and a 1" depth. The fella' I bought them from said he'd used several pairs of these to create a windowscape to cover beer mirrors in his basement. I do not know if they came from a smoke or pet free home. They smell like wood to me and are being sold AS IS. One panel is very minutely taller than it's mate~an easy fix with sanding. These are heavy! PAIR ANTIQUE WINDOW LOUVERED WOOD SHUTTERS ORNATE BRASS SHIELD CROWN HARDWARE
We are pleased to offer this wonderful pair of antique. Interior window shutters. The pair are of pine wood construction and feature 3 door, folding design. There are two louvered doors per shutter. The louvered doors are sectioned/divided with a top and bottom louvered section. Each shutter also has an outer paneled door. The panels are recessed and trimmed with molding. These are also divided into an upper and lower section. The shutters retain their original and ornate brass knobs and back plates. They also retain their lower locking mechanism. This is also brass and is quite ornate. When the doors are closed, this creates a shield and crown design. The upper locking mechanism is no longer present and is missing. The shutters are in good condition with expected wear and an aged condition. The louvers slide freely but not all of them stay ... moreopen and do need adjusting to correct. They are quite lovely. On one panel the top six louvers have come undone(please see pics) and on the same panel the brass handle is bent down. They are dusty and dirty and have been painted yellow sometime in the 70's. This a nice interior shutter featuring a diamond paneled bottom. It is comprised of 3-18" panels providing for a 54" overall width. One panel could easily be removed to achieve a 36" width. Five of the louvers have been replaced on this one. The hinges joining the panels are in good working condition. Hinges to attach the outer panel to your window will be required. This is set#2 of three identical sets I have for sale. I would rate this one in very good condition. They have been stored indoors in a heated environment. I was told by the owner of the house that they were handmade for each window. The house was built in the 1850's and none of the windows were exactly the same size. I am not sure when these shutters we made but I'm guessing they are pretty old because they are made with 1" lumber. This set of shutters are 29" x 11 1/2" x 1" and are in very good condition.
