Description This is a nice set that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. They are made of oak and is currently painted. They were originally part of a built in armoire. Each has a carved corbel at the end with carved flowers. There are brackets along the breast. Each has a nicely carved crown. Each measures 30.75 inches wide by 14.5 inches tall and is 3.5 inches deep. Overall They are in good co ndition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. The ends of both crowns are cracked. Part of a bracket is missing off the right side. There are dowels at the ends. Please look at the pictures carefully. These nice looking pieces were part of the lobby from a Boston Building built in the 1920's that was renovated and was not longer needed. Building was in the neoclassical style. If your into vintage architectural pieces this is for you. Brass was big in the 20s and 30s for decorating a lobby in a building or use on the outside because of its cheap price. Today the cost would be to great to use this metal. Both are made of solid brass. They measure about 19 7/8" wide. 2 7/8" wide and 3/8" thick. Total weight is about 7 pounds. Up for your consideration we have this beautiful window pediment from a WV farmhouse built in 1850. I believe it is made of pine and is quite heavy weighing about 15 pounds. It is a salvaged item and does have some imperfections such as a few nails sticking up out of it and lots of chipping paint. The paint does come off very easily when you touch it. It measures about 17" tall to the peak. 44.5" long and about 4" thick. This is a beautiful salvage piece. Removed from a Victorian house in Central New York. I did not attempt to clean this item. Just the way it is when removed. The old paint on both sides looks like the color mocha cream. There is some paint chipping and great old paint crackle. On the right top edge there is a saw mark and the old pine wood has a very slight bow. Offered for sale is this historical. Cast iron, Architectural/ Structural Building' Star. Stars like these were used in the construction of two or more story brick/stone buildings. 100 plus years ago, to stabilize and secure the brick/stone masonry. They were attached inside to the joist beams, thus securing the brick or stone siding together with the frame of the building. You may see them on many of the very old masonry constructed buildings in your town. Included in my photos you will see three examples of a star like this presently in use on the side of an old Hotel in my town. When we come upon a very old/historical'FIND' like this we say"We wish it could talk and share what it has seen" This one came from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Truly a'RARE FIND' It remains in'As Found' condition.Leaving ... moreany cleaning or restoration up to the final owner. We think that the residual brick. Mortar, and paint help tell it's history.
