Here is an absolutely amazing old handpainted Japanese fine porcelain cup. The saucer is not a match and is not nearly of the same quality. But will be ... moreincluded if the buyer wants it. The lightweight porcelain cup is signed on the bottom in red with 8 symbols. It has been hand decorated with gold and painted scenes of cranes and quails. Heavy application of gold and a very unusual design of clocks at different times around the top edge. Exquisitely decorated even inside. The saucer has a small faint hairline on the under side. The delicate cup is in lovely clean overall condition. But not perfect. It has a small, almost perfectly shaped V section out of the top rim. Amazingly, there is no crack to porcelain and it still has a perfect ping! Cup measures 3 1/2" across the top and 2 1/2" high. PLEASE NOTE: I ship once a week, generally Fridays. Antique AA Vantine Nippon JAPAN Meiji Cup Saucer Hand Painted CHRYSANTHEMUMS
Up for auction is an ANTIQUE A. A. Vantine Nippon Chrysanthemums Cup and Saucer. The bottom of the saucer is marked as seen in the photograph with a blue mark of crossed Imperial Chinese and Japanese flags with the Turkish crescent moon and star inbetween. This refers to Mr. A. A. Vantine's business relations with these three countries. This mark tentatively dates this piece to the very early 1900's. Around the Meiji time frame I believe. This BEAUTIFUL cup and saucer depicts chrysanthemums in shades of yellow, green, and white. This set is HANDPAINTED and done with a raised beaded handiwork throughout. The saucer measures 4 1/4" across. The cup measures 3" across from edge of handle to end of cup. The cup measures 1 3/8"H. There is a very small chip on edge of the backside of the saucer measuring 3/16" across ... moreby 3/16"high. There is also a place on the edge of the saucer where the gilding is painted over the rim of the saucer. There is a very small chip on the edge of the saucer that measures 1/16"long by not even 1/16"H. There is a small dark dot in the interior of the cup in the porcelain along with some other lighter colored dots in the porcelain. There is a in the interior of the cup by the handle. There is a couple minor flea bites in the rim of the cup. Also, there is gold loss to the gilding from age. Pictures of actual item. Beginning in 1869. AA Vantine's was an upscale, well-established importing house of Oriental goods in New York City, and one of the most notable of the up-town merchants. Vantine's agents were known to search the world over for the rare and beautiful. Around the 1840's Ashley A. Vantine started a provision and supply business in San Francisco. He continued in California until 1869. When he came to New-York and established himself in the Oriental goods business, opening his first shop for oriental wares in New York in 1869. Mr. Vantine traveled a great deal, particularly to China and Japan, crossing the Pacific sixteen times and ma

Meiji Period Arita Toshikian Kisabu Antique Japanese Porcelain Cup and Saucer
Antique Meiji Period Arita Toshikian Kisabu Japanese Porcelain Cup and Saucer Hello from Spyglass Treasures and Spyglass Booty! We are constantly trying to"SPY" out treasures for you in our travels. Please come back often because you never know what we have"commandeered" to offer you! A kind poster on eBay's pottery. Glass, and porcelain message board translated and identified this gorgeous cup and saucer for me. They said, The mark reads 年木奄喜三製"Made by Toshikian Kisabu. Toshikian(1845-1886) was a very highly regarded Arita potter in the Meiji era. Doing additional research on the name"Toshikian" did not yield any more information for me. However. Plugging in the Japanese characters, I was able to see more lovely antique Arita porcelain. I had trouble taking quality pictures of this lovely set. So, as ... moreyou can see, I've included lots of pictures in the hopes you can see how beautiful it is. The highly detailed painted figures are painted with such delicate precision with some being painted in white enamel on top of the white background. I think it is more beautiful in person that in my pictures. And, I am amazed that that thin, delicate handle survived the kiln! A wonderful treasure you NEED to commandeer for yourself or your loved one! Condition: There are several small chips along the top edge of the cup at the points and one tiny nick in between two points. There are also the darkened series of stress lines seen on the foot in the picture where I show the mark. The saucer has a small chip on the edge mostly on the bottom. This gorgeous antique Arita porcelain cup and saucer set is otherwise in excellent condition! Approximate Dimensions: Cup: 2 3/4" tall Saucer: 5 5/8" diameter at widest points Antique and Pre-OwnedCollectible Treasures- A Personally Satisfying. Environmentally Responsible, and Fiscally Smart Investment! I will gladly combine to save you on shipping if the items can be safely shipped together. If there's another sale you are interested in.

Meiji Period Kutani Region Cup Saucer Antique Hand-Painted Deep Well Saucer
Lovely cup and deep-well saucer set which I was told by a collector is from the late Meiji period(1868-1913) Kutani region. Another collector told me it's late 17th century. I cannot vouch for any of this information since I am not a collector of Asian antiques and can't read the mark. But it's being offered here for those who might be familiar with the mark or just want a very decorative cup and saucer set. The set is hand painted with flowers and birds. Highlighted with silvery frit. The saucer is a deep well quatrefoil design. The saucer is 5.5 inches. The cup is 2.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. Outstanding condition- no chips. Cracks, hairlines, restorations and no noticeable enamel loss. 28-62814) RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B%3Dd70f%2Bf52%3E-146fe1aaa66-0x115-
