Item: Trio of"golden age" Vintage Porcelain Sake Cups– Made in Japan" Description: Up for auction is a trio of Vintage Porcelain Sake Cups. I do not know the maker and do not know the exact age. I do know for sure though that these cups are at the VERY minimum 70 years old. I can tell this by the stamp on the bottom of the cup. On the base it very simply says“Made in Japan. in red lettering. By law from the U.S. Customs Bureau. Starting in 1921, all goods exported to America from Japan were to be“backstamped” either“Japan” or more precisely“Made in Japan. This era from 1921-1941 was known as the“Golden Age” in Japanese Pottery. These early“Made in Japan” pieces. Especially from the Art Deco period and lustres, have come into their own and are very collectible nowadays. This is what drew me to these specific little cups in the ... morefirst place. The lustre on them is so unique. Not dull. But at the same time not too shiny neither. They just ooze that“vintage” feel when you look at them closely in hand. One can only collect so much though and it’s time for me to let some items go to their next happy owner. Condition: Especially f or their age. This trio is in excellent condition. If one was to search for any flaws. All you could find is some wear along the base where the cup sits on the table. Interestingly most of the various patterns show girls looking to the right. But this is the only style Geisha that gazes to the left. All are smaller in size with one very small mini size. The smallest of them all is the only piece I could find that had a nick or small chip in the top rim/edge the rest have no cracks or chips. Unknown maker. Some have marks that I could not identify. This is a unique set of 4 different NON MATCHING Asian porcelain vintage items. I am simply not sure if some are sake or rice bowls or cups.One. The outside of the sake cup has a nice scene of a bird perched on a large tree with a couple of seagulls flying in the horizon. On the inside, a different Lucky God is painted on a background of gold, meticulously done. All sake cups are in excellent condition with no obvious chips, cracks, or nicks. Selling a set of 6 antique Meiji period Japanese Imari Arita handpainted porcelain sake cups. They are very finely handpainted in traditional Imari tones of iron red. Deep blue and highlighted in gilt. The detailing is very fine and features scenes of fish, birds and paulownia flowers. They are all in excellent antique condition- no chips or cracks. The paint and gilt are well preserved with some gilt loss at the rims as seen in the closeup pics. For your consideration we are offering these beautifully detailed and unique porcelain whistling sake cups. The cups are fine porcelain china with a detailed painted scene with Mt. Fuji. Water village and flowering trees and foliage. The little blossoms on the tree are moriage dots. These cups are so tiny with such wonderful detail. These cups are very unique they are whistling sake cups. There is a porcelain chimney/tube which runs down the side on the outside of the cup into the base with a hole in center. These are quite unusual and beautiful. There are 6 cups 2 have a chip on the top rim, please see photos for details. As far as I could see those are the only major chips. The rest of the cups are in good condition. There is some wear of the gold gilt trim on some of the cups. The bottoms of the cups are marked in red with Kutani and with ... more2 calligraphy characters. On some of the cups depending on how the stamp was placed some of these marks or letters are not complete because of the hole in the bottom for the whistling component. And when I opened the box, I found these amazing hand-painted cups. We carefully unpacked them to discover that each cup features a picture in a series illustrating a story. We have researched these cups and can find NOTHING like them. MYSTERIOUS AND DEFINITELY RARE! Each cup measures approximately 3 1/4" tall and are approximately 2" in diameter. This set was purchase in Kyoto where there are many elegant geisha houses. The large fish bottle is 9 1/2" tall and the 6 little fish cups are 3" tall. They are in perfect condition. Vintage O.M.C. Porcelain hand painted Sake cups~ set of two Japan
Very nice vintage procelain sake cups with handpainted flowers with gold tone highlights on front of cup. They have a label on the bottom that says.O.M.C. Japan. The cups are 1.5" in height and 2.2 in diameter. They are in great condtion with no visable chips or cracks. There seems to be a very tiny mark on the inside bottom of one of the cups, maybe from when it was fired. Feel free to ask questions. No returns.

Pair of 2 Antique Porcelain Japanese Sake Cups
This is a pair of antique Japanese sake cups. They are thick white porcelain banded with a blue hand painted geometrical design. The bottom footed area is banded in blue. These are crudely glazed with inconsistency to the finish on the inside of the cups. One is glossier than the other inside and there is also a small dark speck that was glazed over. There is one chip on the rim of one of the cups and there is a hairline crack on the outside glaze of the other cup. They measure 2.50" in diameter and 2 5/8" high. I purchased these in the 1970's at a thrift store in Hilo, Hawaii. Shipping in the 50 United States only.

5 Vintage Porcelain Carved Japanese Sake Cups
Item up for auction These are 5 vintage Japanese sake cups purchased in Japan in the early 1930's. The cups are handcrafted and painted by different artists. Each cup has little carved details to the porcelain that allow for a see through pattern when held to the light. This is remarkably delicate work. Each cup is about 3" across at the top and 2 1/8" high. As expected with hand work. There are a few flaws in the cups and one cup has a nick in the base(see pics) otherwise the cups are in remarkably very good vintage condition.
