This a vintage early Showa period(c. 1930's) Japanese chataku. Or teacup saucer. It is made of either a brass or a bronze/ copper alloy with silver plating. It has a design of phoenix and paulownia flowers and leaves(see picture 5& 6) In Japanese methodology. The phoenix could only land on the paulownia tree. The paulownia is known one of the more famous family crest in Japan.
