This lovely tea set features a Geisha girl on a path in front of a house and flowers throughout a plaid design surrounded by early 1900's 8-ray Japanese Imperial Flags. This little set definitely dates back to pre WWII. 1910's-1930' The Asian scene has been hand painted in very rich multi-color features and accented with gold. All four pieces are in very good condition with an exception of one tiny chip on the inside rim of one tea cup and a hairline crazing crack on the inside of the other one. Each piece is stamped with hallmarks on the bottoms in Japanese. All pieces are slightly out-of-round making me believe they have been entirely handmade. Cups measure 2 3/8" 7.5 cm) in dia. on top and are 1 1/2" 4.5 cm) tall. Saucers are 4 1/4" 10.8 cm) in dia. Japanese"Geisha Girl" or Lithophane Mark porcelain Tea Cup and Saucer Offered for sale is this vintage 1950’s miniature tea cup from the owner’s mother. The saucer shows Mount Fuji. A Japanese tea house and Pagoda. The cup repeats the scene with 2 small sailboats on a lake. There are no cracks. Chips or scratches that we could detect. The items are hand-painted and on the top of the handle is a small black line where the craftsperson didn’t quite cover the undercoat with gilding(see photo) Dimensions are: Saucer 3.75” Diameter. Cup 2.5” Diameter, total Hight 2” Below is what we found on the internet about this piece. This porcelain is well known and most often called"Geisha" or"Geisha girl" Porcelain. It is Japanese and my guess is that it is made at the Arita factory specifically for the Western market during ... morethe first decades of the 20 th Century up until the 1940's. Some sources indicate that porcelain with this mark could have been in production as late as in the 1960's. The inspiration for the Japanese"geisha girl" lithophane mark seems more than likely have come to Japan during their early contacts with the West around the turn of the 19th century. All kinds of decorative pieces. Probably mostly lanterns was made in this technique in Europe, with its popularity reaching its peak in the 1870's after which point they gradually went out of fashion. Originally. Truly superb and elegant antique Japanese eggshell porcelain cup and saucer. Hand painted. Presumed to be Meiji period. Very good antique condition with no cracks. Chips, repairs, scratches or crazing. The color is vivid. The image of a geisha being pulled in a wagon is repeated on the exterior, in greater size on the plate and in the bottom of the cup. The cup and plate also show a scene with temples( and cranes. The banding at the rim is truly whimsical and finely detailed. The porcelain is so thin, the exterior pattern is visible on the inside of the cup. Cup is 3 1/2 inches wide. Saucer is a little over 5" wide. It will be well packed for shipping.

This is a very pretty vintage Hand Painted Oriental Porcelain Cup and saucer. Made in Japan. They are white porcelain decorated with Geishas, trees, flowers and a lake. The handle and rim of the cup is edged in green and the handle of cup has bamboo design. Cup is unmarked, Cup measures 1.4" tall x 3" diameter. This cup lost its original saucer. But was teamed up with the one shown in the picture, which is particularly well painted.

Welcome to the Attic Japanese e gg shell tea cup& saucer Set. This is a very delicate Japanese teacup and saucer set made of egg shell porcelain. Egg shell porcelain is a very fine thin bone china that is translucent. This lovely tea set features a Geisha girl on a path in front of a house and flowers throughout a plaid design surrounded by early 1900's 8-ray Japanese Imperial Flags. This little set definitely dates back to pre WWII. 1910's-1930' The Asian scene has been hand painted in very rich multi-color features and accented with gold. All four pieces are in very good condition with an exception of one tiny chip on the inside rim of one tea cup and a hairline crazing crack on the inside of the other one. Each piece is stamped with hallmarks on the bottoms in Japanese. All pieces are slightly out-of-round making me believe ... morethey have been entirely handmade. DETAILS OF ITEM This is a mid century porcelain Dragonware lithophane cup and saucer with a photographic quality secret Geisha image at the bottom of the cup. The cup measures 2 inches tall by 3.75 inches in diameter excluding the handle and the saucer measures 5.5 inches in diameter. The image on both cup and saucer shows a flying white dragon image amongst the lightening bolts in the sky. Raised Moriage highlights this design. Using the different thickness of the translucent bisque porcelain produces this remarkable three-dimensional image. The artist first carves the image into beeswax. The translucency of the wax allows the artist to see the result of this work. A plaster casting is taken from the wax mold then a fine porcelain paste is pressed into this mold. Lithophane coffee cups like this one were produced during the later 1940's through 1950's in Japan and the condition of this set is very good. The saucer measures 5¼ inches in diameter. The cup stands a little over 2 inches tall and is about 3½ inches in diameter at the rim. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no nicks. Chips or cracks, though there is a glaze miss at the outside of the cup near the rim which is visible in the final picture about ¾ of the way to the right. Vintage Geisha Girl Lithopane Nippon Era Cup AND Saucer - wonderful
This listing is for this vintage Satsuma Moriage cup and saucer. It is a detailed set with Gods and Deities depicted around the cup and the saucer. The cup has a lithopane image of a Geisha. Please see all 12 photos. Hand Painted Betson's" inscribed on the bottom of the saucer. The saucer measures 5-3/8 inches diameter. The cup measures 2 inches tall and 3-5/8 inches in diameter and 4-1/2" including the handle. The saucer is signed as shown in one of the photos. There are no cracks or chips. The plate shows a small area where some color may be missing but they both look perfect to me. The lithopane geisha is so striking and beautiful. The images are all intact. The pieces have gold trim too and that is intact. Hand painted with details. All very detailed.

Japanese Tea Cup and Saucer Hand Painted Geisha Porcelain Asian Oriental
Here is a lovely Japanese cup& saucer set. The saucer and inside of the cup are handpainted to depict Geisha and everyday life in Japan. The edges of both are scalloped and trimmed in gold and red. The set is made of porcelain and the hand painted detail work is exquisite. The saucer measures 5.25" The cup measures 2" high by 4" across. The outside of the cup has red flowers blossoms painted on it, 5 on one side. Four on the other side. The entire design is highlighted with gold. Makings on bottom in gold over red. The cup has a hairline crack in a"V" shape(see photo) I have described this item to the best of my ability. Thank you for looking!
