This is WW2 vintage(c. 1930's) hand thrown porcelain Japanese sakazuki(sake cup) with a dedication to a small shrine in the village of Jinmei on the inside of the cup(see picture 7) The outside of the cup has a raised chrysanthemum petal design all the way around. This cup has been fired at a high temperature for lasting strength and durability. It has stood the test of time for almost a century and will surely last another 100 years. Having been in storage for nearly a century inside a Japanese family warehouse. This sake cup remains in excellent condition.
