Vintage Antique Weathervane Horse & Rider, Sulky, Great Patina, Copper Brass
This is a wonderful vintage weathervane of a sulky with rider. Trotting horse. It is all copper and brass with great original patina. This F o lk Art weather vane dates to the 19th century. Copper forms are soldered together and the figures are hollow. This is a very large piece. The measurements are 31"W x 16.5"H. One wheel is missing a spoke and two spokes are loose on one end. I can see no other areas that need repair. This has been in a private collection for over 20 years. I do not know the original area that it came from. We had it appraised 10 years ago And the value was $10.000. I also have a magazine clipping where it shows this weather vane brought $10,450 at a Munda and Associates sale in Freeport Illinois December 15 of 2002. See photograph. Vintage Copper Whale Weathervane Available is a nice vintage copper whale weathervane. It was gifted to our family years ago by a friend who owned a home at the Jersey shore. We had every intention of using it. But never did as we own horses so, of course, our weathervane is of a horse. It has been stored in our garage since gifted and now needs to find a suitable home. I am not weathervane savvy. So I have taken plenty of pictures with the hope that any potential buyer will have a good idea of the condition and size. I have chosen not to clean it up and will leave that up to the buyer. Please note that there here is an indentation on the one side of the whale(see picture 4) which is not noticeable and I would think it can be sucked out with a little plunger or just leave as it. Vintage Rare Tall (65") Copper Lightning Rod w/ Stand
Vintage Rare tall lightning rod measuring approximately 65" Very hard to find rods of this height) Copper base. The tip seems more silver in color as the base has some of the green patina that copper gets from oxidation so I am not sure what this is made of. There is a tri-pod type stand with 2 rings where the base of the rod slips through(probably steel which has rusted) with holes in each end of the tri-pod for screwing into the top of the barn/house. The very tip of the arrow tip is very slightly bent and the rod itself seems to have a slight bend to it as well.

Antique Vintage Old Large Copper & Brass Weathervane Running Horse Weathervane
This is a beautiful old weathervane. The horse. Directional arrows, and decorative balls appear to be copper. The 3 demensional items are hollow. The horizontal bar under the horse appears to be some other material possibly brass. The verticle rod(black) seems to be steel or iron. I do not know the age, I aquired it at auction in the 80's and thought to add it to a cupola on the barn. This many years later it's still in the garage. This is a very large item and will come disassembled. I'm not sure that I have it assembled correctly but it seems to work. Overall assembled demensions are appx. 45" tall and 31" wide. The Horse is almost 28" wide nose to tail and appx. 13 1/2" tall. There are two decorative balls. This weathervane was removed from our victorian home in Hastings. NE. the home was built in the late 1880's. It is made of Copper and has a lovely patina as you can see. The base has three holes for easy installation. It spins very easily. The vane is COMPLETE! The horse measures 13" The arrow 19" overall height is 20" I try to describe my auction as fairly as I can. N.S.W.E copper directionals and a great iron mount that has a little rust on it like you'd expect. Up for auction is this vintage set of copper lightning rod supports. The pieces are in pretty good used condition. They go around the rod and are attached with a set screw and the bottom parts wrap around the copper wire where it runs across the roof top. MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. Vintage Lightning Rod Rods One Twisted Stand Both Copper Tipped
For sale is a pair of vintage(maybe antique) lightning rods. Puchased recently in SE Kansas. I know little about these. But here's what I do know; They are 54" tall and are supported via a metal tripod system. Which I am not exactly sure how it works? They are bluish so I am assume the main pole is copper. RARE VINTAGE COPPER SQUIRREL'S TAIL WEATHER VANE PART
Bidding is for this rare vintage copper squirrel's tail which was part of a weather vane. I've been sitting on this item for 20 years looking for the rest of the squirrel but with no luck. Will it's your turn to hold or attach to yours if you have the front part. Pictures show a few dings but overall this item is in good shape with measurements of 21 1/2" long by 2 1/4" thick. A nice vintage"medium" size barn cupola from a barn roof in rural Syracuse. Nebraska. Measures 46 1/2" square and about 12 foot tall. Is attached and stands on four 4x4 wood lumbers. Some rusted out spots near crown, underneith, could be primed and stopped. About 10 bullet holes in total. The weathervane is present and removeable. Cast iron& copper weathervane. The animal from the fin of the weathervane is missing. But another may be attached. I supplied the two vintage blue glass balls. Vintage Weathervane Antique lightning rod Ball 21" Country Decor Farm Copper
For your consideration I have two copper lightening rods. They measure 21" tall. They do feature quite a bit of patina from years of being out in the elements but could be cleaned up nicely. The mounting brackets look as though they have been painted silver at some point. They both feature two rings with screws to hold the lightening ball in place. One goes on top and the other on the bottom of the ball. I am including a ball with each rod. One is a very pretty Easter purple color and the other is white. The balls are not cracked throughout but do exhibit some chips around the top and bottom rims as most all balls do. The rest of the ball is great condition. I do not have caps that go around the top and bottom rims of the balls. You do not need them but if you would like they can be purchased fairly inexpensive on Ebay. This one was one of two that graced an old barn in eastern Pennsylvania. It would make a great architectural display piece for your home. Right now. It is mounted on a board for display purposes but it will not be shipped with the board. You can supply your own and save shipping costs. The three legs and framework for the rod are iron and are rusted from years of being exposed to the elements. Just the rod is copper. The three legs were meant to be spread out and attached to the peak of the roof. The bottom of the rod has a copper loop through which ran copped cable to make any lightening strike go to ground. The glass ball was intended to explode if hit by lightening to indicate a strike. The pictures are representative ... moreof its brown light coffee color. There are no cracks in the glass but there are flakes on the upper and lower edges of the circular hole as can be seen in the 6th and 7th pictures. It appears that the more serious flakes resulted from the ball turning on the directional arrow. I suppuse there is some type of washer or gasket to prevent this type of damage. The arrow is 20 3/4" long. It is made from cas aluminum or white metal as it is not very heavy. The rod stands 65 3/4" tall and the entire peice shows good green copper patina.The ball will be shipped separate from the rod and arrow to prevent damage.

The top features a sperm whale measuring 25" by 7" The N/S/E/W spokes measure 18" across. And the pole stands 18 1/2" high. Altogether, the whale measures approx. 26" tall. I have tested the weathervane with WD-40, but it does not turn. The copper has a light green patina and verdigris which adds to the antique character and overall appeal of this piece. The weathervane is in good condition for its age. But the tail section is a little rusty on top from being out in the elements. It has natural green patina on the copper. Vintage Antique 68" Copper Lightning Rod with Blue W.C. Shinn Milk Glass Ball
This is a beautiful old copper lightning rod with metal stand and blue milk glass W.C. Shinn Mfg. Co. ball. The copper has a fantastic green patina and the stand has some surface rust. But it is still sturdy and functional. There are holes in the ends of the stand legs for attaching the stand to the roof or other structure. The glass ball is a bold robin's egg blue with the words W.C. Shinn Mfg. Co. wrapped around the middle. There are some tiny chips missing from the top rim and two larger chips missing from the bottom as shown in the 4th, 7th, and last photo. The ball still sits nicely on the metal disk, and there are no cracks in the glass anywhere. The white disk you can see under the ball on the photos is a thin foam disk that is there to protect the bottom rim of the ball, but it is not necessary and can be slipped right off. Nice patina on this old weathervane. It is a full bodied form of a copper rooster. This piece has a nice folky quality to the form. It appears to be a handmade piece and it is joined with some kind of rivet or tack. It is mounted to a twisted piece of steel or iron that is then attached to a solid block of wood. There are no markings of any kind on this vane or a signature. It is in good condition with a nice patina.
