Antique Cut Glass Ship Captain's Decanter Originated in Germany Pre-1945
This lovely ship captain's decanter has a wonderful history. It belonged to my Mom who received it as a gift from a lady friend in the early 1950's. The lady friend who was Jewish smuggled this decanter out of Germany sometime during the 1940's. Taking it to Italy and eventually moving on to California then Connecticut all the while having the decanter in her possession. I'm not certain why it was so special to her but obviously it was. My Mom has had it in her china cabinet since the early 1950's and has asked me now to sell it for her. It is 7-1/2" tall with a 2-1/2" top diameter, the bulbous shape is 6-1/2" wide at the widest point. It is very heavy weighing well over 3 pounds. It is beautiful cut glass. Highly faceted without its stopper if it ever had one. My Mom used it for a vase. It does, unfortunately ... morehave a large crack in the body and she says it will only take about an 1-1/2" of water up to where the crack begins or it will leak. There may be methods of repairing this exquisite piece. This piece is being sold in its damaged condition as described. Antique Ruby Etched& Cut Glass Bohemian Decanter Egermann( Grape& Leaves' Pattern This antique. Bohemian decanter is generally ruby red in color, with an etched grape, leaves& vine decoration surrounding its body. It is a hand blown and etched piece and features three(3) lovely rings encircling its neck. Rows of what might be described as'thumbprint' cuts encircle its base and top shoulder(see photos) The finial on its stopper is triangular in shape, with six(6) long sides. It has a broken off pontil mark on its base(with some remnants of flint still attached) Condition: This decanter is generally in excellent condition. Antique Ruby Bohemian Cranberry Crystal Glass 6 Cordials Cut to Clear Decanter
This lovely decanter and mat ching stopper with 6 cups belonged to my late Grandmother. I am selling many o f her things for my parent s. Th ey bel ieve it is from the 1930's or 40's but I do not know the actual age. The maker i s also unknown as there is no mark that I can find on any of the pieces. The pattern is a ge ometric cut to clear leaf and oval motif. Simple and stunning. The measuring cup/stopper at the top of the decanter has an imperfection in the top of the rim which feels like an indent or bubble in the glass(see picture) It feels original and smooth. The set is otherwise in excellent condition. With no flea bites, chips, or cracks found. There are some subtle imperfections in the etching as well, see pictures) which highlights the handmade nature of the set. There are some normal bubbles and light signs of mild wear ... morein the glass, commensurate with age, mainly near the rims of s ome of the cups. It is an absolutely beaut i ful set. This is a stunning 6 piece decanter set. The whole set is made of amber glass that has been hand blown and then cut with a hummingbird and fl oral pattern of roses. The b ottom of the large piece has been polished where the pontil mark was a nd the stopper was as well. The decanter has an applied amber glass handle. This set comes with FIVE matching wine glasses cut with the same pattern. The height of the decanter measures 15.5 inches tall and the height of the wine stems measures 5.75 inches tall. There is a dimple in the handle right where you thumb would go- I included two pictures of that. Close-up of the stopper so you can see the tiny micro nick in the side and the bubble(larger) which is inside the stopper- stopper is hand numbered 23. Star cut on the bottom. Up for auction is an antique Bohemian Cased White cut to Yellow Glass Floral Decanter. This is a gorgeous antique cased glass decanter with white overlay glass cut to yellow/gold bohemian glass. The white glass has floral accents along white gold trim and designs. The decanter is large measuring 17” tall with the stopper and 13” without it. The base measures 4 ½” in diameter at the bottom and tapers going upward to 2 ½” where to stopper goes. The decanter has a couple of minor flaws with a chip in the lid where the stopper inserts and a couple of tiny flea bites/dinks in the white glass. All in all. Hello- This is a big decanter. Standing 13" with the stopper on top. The clarity of the glass is incredible, the thick bottom shines, making it eye-catching in any room. The design appears to have some needle etching and hand-wheel grinding in a sort of daisy floral pattern. When I first saw pieces like this, I could only think of it as"wavy glass" because I hadn't yet learned what that means in terms of art glass. Upon research I learned that this kind of glass is an antique form of early art glass production. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE cut glass decanter and stopper- LOOKS Irish- nicely cut band!!
This decanter could be even older than 1850. But I really can't date it accurately, except to say it's very old I'm guessing 1920's AT LEAST. It's beautiful cut crystal and has an intricately cut band going around the upper central portion where your hand grabs it to pour. Then large cut ovals above and below this band. It's topped off with a dazzling HUGE cut glass knob topped stopper. The decanter without the stopper measures 8 1/4" high, and the stopper measures just shy of 4" long. CONDITION: A relatively small nick in the upper lip of the decanter, numerous fleabites and nicks on the base of the stopper, some very light clouding on some sections of the interior, can totally still see through the glass, some colored liquid in it and I believe it would disappear. I felt all the way around the diamond cut ... moreband about three times and felt nothing, and I see nothing on that. The flat base has numerous light scratches commiserate with age and use. The stopper has 3 or 4 small bubbles in the glass, and there are a few in the glass of the decanter as well. I see no signature or maker's mark. This is a great addition to the cocktail table, cart or tray, with some kind of amber colored liquid in it would be ideal. It's a very solid, masculine piece. And again, age wise I'm guessing, I think my pictures came out kind of washed out I don't know yet how much detail you can see against the pink wall. It is quite heavy. The enamel floral painting is gorgeous with varying colors of blue in the flowers. The enamel paint is along the bulbous part of the decanter with matching motif around the stopper. I do not see any seam marks it is polished smooth. It is marked with an 18 point star on the bottom. There are normal scratches to the base. There is a star like flaw in the side of the decanter. It doesn’t feel at all like its damage and we confirmed that it does not leak…so I believe this may have occurred during the manufacturing process and not damage that occurred later. A beautiful early 20th century set liquor decanter with stopper and 6 stemmed cordial glasses. An exquiste early 20th centur Bohemia glass decanter set. Probably Moser glass made in 1910. Hand painted tiny flowers decorating both the lovely decanter and all of the six stemmed glasses. Gilding around the cut design rims and bases. Excellent condition! No damage. Chips or cracks. PA during the early 1800s. The decanter features a cut glass pattern with blocks, bars, arches, fans, and more, a multi-ringed neck, a starburst base, and smooth polished pontil mark on the bottom. The stopper is multi-faceted and cut, but I do not believe that it is original. It fits well into the decanter however. The decanter stands approximately 9" tall with the stopper in place. Item Condition: The overall condition of the decanter is excellent. It is very clean and I see no chips. Cracks, or broken areas except for some flakes to the bottom rim above the base. An absolutely stunning decanter made of wheel-cut class with a pewter overlay. The design work is intricate with a floral and foliate design that's very much in keeping with the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The decanter is in amazing condition with no wear or damage that I could see. My guess is that this piece was made in Czechoslovakia or Austria. Not sure of an exact age on the piece. But I suspect that it originated at some point in the late 19th/early 20th Century. This decanter set is very impressive! It includes the three original hand cut leaded crystal decanters that are hand blown and etched with deep symmetrical cuts. The tantalus features an oak body with heavy silver plated handle and corner details. Includes the key that was found with it. But I didn't try to lock with the key because I didn't want to take a chance and the pivoting top handle is now in the unlocked position so the bottles can be removed. The carrier is in excellent condition, and the bottles have only some small chips you would expect from light use and considerable age, also there is some cloud or residue inside the bottles which I did not try to clean. Antique Handmade Art Nouveau Deco Copper Cut Glass Bottle RARE Liquor Decanter
For your consideration. An incredible vintage/antique piece of Mexican art glass with a cut and carved copper wrap. This is a one of a kind piece. It is absolutely beautiful. It measures 6" to the top of the copper wrap, 7.5" to the top of the bottle, and 3.75" square. The bottle underneath is a vintage or antique cut glass bottle. The diamond shaped cuts are up all 4 sides, and border the bottom of the bottle. It looks like a late 19th century/ early 20th century bottle. One of the four glass panels has an oval of uncut, clear glass where perhaps a label once went. I consider this the front of the bottle. Wrapped around this thick, heavy, glass bottle is a truly incredible solid copper wrap that has been hand cut, and hand carved, or engraved. The pattern is Art Nouveau natural floral forms, with vines, leaves, and flowers. ... moreThe pattern, while the same picture on all four sides, is nonetheless completely hand made as evidenced by the variations in the cuts from one side to the next. The copper wrap stops at the base of the neck of the bottle, and folds over the bottom of the bottle about 1/3" The bottle does NOT come out in any way that I can manage. The mouth of the bottle is 2.25" in diameter, and would look perfect with either a cork made to fit, or a cut glass or colored glass stopper. I would be tempted to have a local glass artist make a dichroic glass stopper for this exquisite bottle. The only marks are a C on the bottom of the glass bottle, and"Hecho En Mexico" imprinted into the copper where it folds over the bottom of the glass. This piece is rare, and an amazing piece of art in both the glass and copper. I have never seen one like this before, although there are many in silver from that time period. For my protection, and to keep the bottle intact, I will double box this item, and it must ship Priority 2 Day. This is a RARE antique Victorian Daisy& Button old English cut glass decanter. Is brilliantly beautiful in the sunlight or filled with your favorite spirits. Standing about 8 inches tall with topper(about 6 inches without topper) Sides are 3 inches by 3 inches. There is some damage to the topper and there is a very small chip on one bottom corner. Welcome! Up for sale is this beautiful early 20th century Amber cut glass decanter with a diamond cut stopper! This decanter has so many unique details! I am not an authority on cut glass and I will do my best to describe this piece. First. The rim of the bottle is cut with 8 sides, the body has a unique shape in that it is like a diamond shape with 4 sides. The flowers, vines, and leaves are cut all the way around making indentations on 2 ends. I think the flowers are Poppies. There is 1 small flea nick at bottom of bottle but no other nicks, cracks or repairs, light scratches to bottom, these are seen better by the camera than the naked eye. The diamond cut stopper is in pretty nice condition but I do see a few bubbles and there are about 3 very small flea nicks. Blown molded olive-amber decanter with gilt trim on handle. Neck and stopper. Angular handle, with heavy cut-faceted stopper. Wide polished pontil. I believe this to be European, circa 1900. No maker’s marks; stopper and neck interior have matching scratched“0” Size: Approximately 8” total height. Base approximately 4.5” diameter. Condition: Chip to one corner of stopper. Antique Silverplate Crystal Wine Decanter Claret Jug Cut Glass High Leaf Handle
Silverplate and cut crystal claret jug or wine decanter made in Victorian England circa 1900. Stands 8 1/2" to the top of the high handle and is 4" across the widest area of the jug. Miter cuts divide the pitcher at the top. Bottom and into four panels in the center. There are two wide panels of textured diamonds and two left uncut. A large cut star on the bottom of the pitcher. Smooth silver plated collar, lid and spout. The arched handle is decorated with leaves and flowers. No maker's mark. Condition is excellent without dents or repairs. I have not cleaned the silver so cannot attest to the coverage. There is a little calcium discoloration in the bottom. A lovely collectible decanter.

This is an Antique Crystal Wine Decanter with Stopper. It could be Waterford or Baccarat. Since I have a Waterford decanter which due to age, doesn't have the marking anymore. It ids just beautiful. The stopper is the best part. I tried to take many pictures in different light so you can see the shape, pattern and the stopper, I hope you can see it. It is 11 3/4" high including the stopper 6" wide base and in good condition with no chips. Cracks or hairlines but has lime scale and the bottom has many scratches which you can see in the pictures.
