Each 14" tall decanter is made of ornate cut crystal with, I believe, sterling bases and spouts. The handles on each decanter is formed in the shape of a serpant and its long tail. Along the base of the spouts and the bases are engraved etchings forming what looks like small coats of arms or heart-shaped designs. Bottoms of each are stamped: F. Which were obviously made to fit in a silver stand, now missing. The decanters are heavy free blown flint glass(lead crystal) cut in flutes. Each decanter has a heavy collar and its matching blown and cut stopper(each stopper fits its own bottle only, another sign of early hand manufacture) Each decanter is over 12 inches tall. Antique French Saint Louis Crystal Gilded Liquor Service Set, Decanters Cordials
Description: An antique French Saint Louis crystal liquor service. Circa 1908. Comprising of a pair of liquor decanters, 11 cordial glasses and a tray. Fine quality crystal, patterned with intricate engraving and gilded accents. This model and pattern is illustrated in the Saint Louis catalog for 1908, page 39. Beautiful fluted border to the tray with a gilded edge. The decanters retain their faceted stoppers topped by a gilded star. The stoppers are marked on the bases with the numbers 22 and 13 to match the corresponding numbers on the decanters. These pieces are unmarked, made prior to the acid etched mark first used by the firm in 1936. Like Baccarat, the Saint Louis cristallerie marked their wares with a paper label prior to their acid etched branding and these old paper labels were often lost, washed away or worn with time. The set ... moreis elegant in it's simplicity, but the exquisite quality of the engraved patterns and rich gilded accents make this set quite extraordinary. Ideal for your favorite liquor, and amaze your guests to an enjoyable after dinner liqueur served in these charming antique cordial glasses. In very good condition throughout for age and type. The mouth blown crystal is clear, beautifully cut and generates a lovely musical ring when tapped. Gilding is in good order. One or two tiny flea-bites to the cut facets on the stoppers and perhaps on a cordial rim too. Overall for it's 100+ years, this set looks to have hardly been used. Antique Crystal Glass Decanters, Lot of 2, Grape & Leaf
Lot of 2 antique cut crystal glass decanters. Beautiful hand etched grape and leaf design. Being hand crafted. There are slight differences in the two. Both measure approx. 10 1/4" tall without stoppers. Base diameter is 3" The stoppers are made a little different from each other as well. One sits down further in the decanter than the other, causing a 1/4" overall height difference. Both stoppers are 4" Both decanters are a 6 paneled design with a collar on the neck. This creates a gorgeous prism effect in light. Over time one has received a flea bite on the neck and a couple of tiny ones further down on the body. One stopper has received a flea bite chip to it's tip and the other has a little roughness to the bottom rim. I have shown this in the pics, though the tiny flea bites are hard to capture. These minimal flaws ... morecertainly do not take away from the beauty of this crystal, rather lend character to the items! Both need a good cleaning inside& out. I think the wood is rosewood and the cabinet is lacquered with a fine ornate brass inlay and a red inlay. But not sure of what the red material is. This Tantalus was quite fancy when new and it was used and not just for show. Several of the cordials are worn on the bottom while others still retain their sharp edges on the corners of their base. I cleaned the decanters which still had the dried stain of what I assumed was alcohol. Or etch, their crystal with their logo until the 1930s and while I do not know if this is Baccarat it certainly has their characteristic style, especially the stoppers. The decanters have a fine polished pontil and wonderful clean lines. Each decanter indents in the center and has a wonderful square flat top stopper and a cylindrical neck leading to the decanter opening. The cordials sit on a square foot and have the same lines as the decanters. This incredible Tantalus comes with a caddy allowing for the decanters and glasses to be carried to another room or removed from the case for easy access. The bottom rows containing the glasses slides out which is the only way to remove the glass. This set was expertly designed. But I must say that while the caddy seems to handle the weight of the crystal it makes me nervous because the crystal is rather heavy. There are 4 decanters. And 16 cordials. I think they are all original but I have no way of swearing to this. One of the decanters has a different mouth opening than the other 3 but other than that, it is identical. pair antique Empire period Waterford crystal decanters, appraised 1975
Offered are a pair of handblown Waterford cut crystal decanters from the Empire period. 1830-1850, handed down through my family. One stopper is original, but the other is a replacement. Included are a pair of hand turned, felt bottomed black walnut bases for stands, done by my father. The decanters are not signed and there are no markings on the bottoms. Where the punties were attached during the blowing process have been polished out cleanly. There are some wear scratches on the very bottoms due to age and use. Otherewise the pair are in excellent condition. The decanters, stoppers, and bases are packed up in bubble wrap in a large Priority Flat rate box and will ship to the buyer fully insured for $20.00. Up for sale is an antique Tiger Oak alabaster Tantalus by George Betjemann’s with 2 cut glass crystal decanters and a movable top brass handle which secures the bottles in place. Manufactured in London, England. It is signed on one side“THE TANTALUS” and a crown& the other side, another crown& BETJEMANNS Patent 39124 LONDON” There is a side lock on one end to allow visibility of the decanters and to provide security as well. There is no key but it is unlocked& works well, to open just pushing down the lever. The Tantalus stands approx. 11" to top of handle. 9" across, 5" deep. Decanters are approx. 8 ¾" high, over 3" across base. Please noted that the base of the rounded neck or collars of both crystal cut glass decanters are rough with chippettes as pictured but does hold stopper in place. Two B&Z crystal decanters made in Germany with ornate 800 silver tops
Up for your consideration I have these two B&Z decanters. They are primarily crystal with 800 silver necks. These are of a very ornate design. They are marked in the silver. B&Z, then a crown hallmark, then 800, then Germany, then a shield type hallmark with a(B) within it and finally what looks like the number 68. The lower part of the decanter has an etched design that resembles grapes on a grape vine while the center area of that same part of the decanter is colored yellow with what looks like fruit in a compote. The design is alike on each side of each decanter. Around all of the aforementioned is beautifully cut crystal. The 800 silver necks of the decanters are what looks to be a romantic theme. One side is a man and a lady resting. The lady looks to be reading a book while the man is holding a flute type instrument while looking ... moreover the lady's shoulder. The man also has a string type instrument at his feet. On the other side of the 800 silver neck we have another couple. The man holding the lady's hand as well as his other hand resting on her shoulder. The lady has a hooped basket on her left arm with something in it. There is a church in the background as well as a deer or a dog by the lady's side. The decanters measure 15" high without the stopper. With the stopper 19" tall, 7" at the widest point as well as 3-3/4" in depth. There is a cloudy appearance on the inside of each of the lower parts of the decanters. One of the stoppers is broken. You are bidding on a wonderful pair of decanters by Echt Bleikerstall measuring 10 1/2" tall. This wonderful set of cut glass decanters are in excellent condition with no nicks. Chips or flakes. The cutting is present on the stopper and the sides of the decanter(ovals) and overall they are quite striking. The inside of the stopper is frosted and one of the decanters retains a Bleikerstall sticker. A great set. I use the US Postal Service and prefer priority mail to ensure quick delivery although size/weight can often be a deterrent due to a balloon fee on boxes over a certain size. CUT GLASS/CRYSTAL LIQUOR DECANTERS Presented is a fantastic pair of cut crystal glass liquor decanters. These decanters date to around the mid 1800s. And are likely of English make. The decanters are beautifully cut, made from heavy weight crystal glass. The glass is clear and brilliant, refracting light dazzlingly. This handsome pair is guaranteed to make an impression. These pieces are in great overall condition. As the photo points out. One of the decanters has a ground down chip to the underside of the mouth, which is quite hard to notice. There is a little bit of white residue inside the decanters, which could be cleaned up. There are no breaks, no other chips, and no cracks. Description: An outstanding pair of antique French Saint Louis crystal liquor decanters. Circa 1908. Of The exquisite set is of the finest quality crystal, engraved and gilded with heavy floral decoration comprising of scrolling foliate, lattice and sinuous vines. This model and pattern is illustrated in the Saint Louis catalog for 1908, page 40. The decanters feature ruffled rims, edged in gilding, terminating to a slender neck with flared body. Retains faceted cut stoppers, each topped by a gilded star. Marked on the base of the stopper with the numbers 115 and 275, corresponding with the matching numbers on the mouth of the decanters. These pieces are unmarked, made prior to the acid etched mark first used by the firm in 1936. Like Baccarat, the Saint Louis cristallerie marked their wares with a paper label prior to their acid etched branding ... moreand these old paper labels were often lost, washed away or worn with time. In very good condition throughout for age and type. The mouth blown crystal is clear, beautifully cut and generates a lovely musical ring when tapped. Gilding is in good order. Each measures about 7 3/4" tall including the stopper and just under 3" across by about the same deep. The stoppers are square-shaped-remind me of an ice cube. As I'm not an expert and the set isn't marked. I don't know who made them, what ... morepattern the glass is or country of origin. Both are in good, unbroken condition. I don't know if they're cut or pressed? I'm guessing they're pressed. From the bottom they look like blown glass. When I cleaned them out it looked like something was on the inside of the one bottle but it's actually in the glass itself, looks like a small spot of sand? I got a picture of it. I didn't see damage on the bottles(nothing major and not chipped) but the design is ornate so if I missed something it would have to be pretty normal wear from age and use. The stoppers have the typical faint scratches and light scuffs/flake on the very bottom as shown and possibley a small flake at the top but it really hard to tell with the design. Circa 1840-70 SET of 3 MATCHING 3-Rings Crystal DECANTERS ,Engraed -nice
Offering set of 3 antique crystal glass decanters with hand engraved decoration. 3 ring neck and cut paneled shoulders and paneled body. 2 decanters has matching stopper. One small stopper is not original. The decanters are very old and has some small cheaps, or flakes or just fleabites on the edges from over 100 years of use. No large chips or cracks. Small air bobbles and straw marks, sand seeds in the glass- this is an early manufacture imperfections.The bottom of the decanters has some visible wear- pictured. On the center of the bottom- polished pontil mark. Size: The largest decanter is 11" tall- measures with the stopper. And 4 1/4 across the shoulders, 3 5/8" across the bottom. Glass Modernist Looking Decanters ~ Ribbed& Fluted Bases ~ Pinched Necks ~ Square Stoppers ~ 9 1/2" high to top of stopper ~ 5 1/4" across the bottom These each weigh 2 lbs and 10oz. ~ stoppers are 2" wide at top ~ These decanters have a great modern look although they may be very old. I have no idea of their age, they came from a local estate sale. I bought them because they have a very modern design with the tall waisted necks and square stoppers. They have a high bell tone ring when tapped at the opening. These display great together; the only damage is one small chip out of the lip on one. Shown in pic, hardly noticeable on display and the other has a ring of residue about an inch down from the top. Beautiful Set of Scotland Cut Glass/Crystal Liquor Decanters. A beautiful Floral pattern of Silver around the mouth of decanter one inch wide. Body of Decanter is Etched into a Floral pattern with a Basket of Roses and Floral as the main theme. This is a running pattern through out the Decanter's with this Floral pattern also on the stoppers. The stoppers are original to the Decanters because they are designed to fit the top. One does not fit the other. The stoppers are individualized. The body of the glass is approximately 1/8 thick with the bottom approximately a 1/4 of an inch thick.
