The cylindrical neck is fitted with an impressive broad rib decorated German silver hallmarked mount with a hinged cover. Surmounted with a silver ball finial. The surface of the cover is embellished with two contemporary engravings of‘v.Bieberstein’ and‘v.Etsdorff’ The 800 standard silver mount is ornamented at each incurve below the ribbed decoration with further contemporary engravings of‘v.Vierech’ v.Wintsky’ v.Ochs’ and‘v.Lauts’ below arched convex fluted decoration. This antique claret jug is fitted with a plain angular handle. The lower portion of the glass body of the jug is embellished with reeded style cut decoration in addition to a star cut base. Antique whiskey decanter, hand painted, very rare, circa 1909
I inherited this whiskey decanter from my grandparents who I believe received it as a wedding gift in 1909. The decanter is 8 inches high and 5 ½ inches at its widest point. The flowers painted on the decanter are slightly raised which indicates hand painting. Also. The flower design on the front and back is almost the same except that the flowers on the front and back are a slightly different size.

Circa 1800s cut& etched glass decanter with stopper Crown Champion Monogram K&C A very nice circa later 1800's cut crystal decanter.I've tried to research this one but I have not been able to learn much about it. The front of the decanter is acid etched with a crown motif which reads: Champion Monogram K&C. I presume that this was a period manufacturer of alcohol.If you have any info I would love to hear from you. Overall condition is very good with no damage to the decanter. As the pictures show there is some chipping to the base of the stopper. Overall the glass is very clear and has a lot of sparkle but there does seem to be the faintest bit of fogging to the base.Super minor but I prefer to make note. The top rim of the decanter is marked with a 4 scratched into ... moreit. Before the stopper was chipped it would have had a corresponding 4 to say that both pieces were a match. Circa 1780s Clear Glass Decanter Bottle with Stopper Rare
Very old. Rare clear glass decanter, circa 1780s. The glass is very primitive with lots of inclusive trapped air bubbles. Several"wrinkles" and linear curved"deformities" also within the glass. The pontil is primitive and aggressive, almost sharp. A really cool, old bottle. It is about 11" tall(with stopper) and about 4" in diameter at the base. Great find for the bottle, or decanter collector.

In beautiful condition with no chips or cracks we have a lovely circa 1940-1950 glass carafe decanter. The top of the carafe is banded in a silver filigree design. The removable silver tone top is decorated with a what looks to be a flower bud and the handle has scrolls and flowers. The carafe does not have a maker's mark. Large Circa 1800 American Pittsburgh flint cut glass decanter Georgian style
Up for auction is a very fine Large Circa 1800 American Pittsburgh area flint cut glass decanter in the English/Irish Georgian style. The Decanter is free blown. Barrel shape& panel cut with it's original coin stopper. The body has thick walls, a wide flat pouring lip with three applied spaced rings around the neck. The neck rings were applied and tooled into shape. The shoulder of the bottle has cut panels There is a polished pontil on the base. This decanter is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Stands 9 inches tall including the stopper Weighs 2lbs 4.96oz. Up for your kind consideration is this wonderful piece of vintage glass. I know of no completely objective way to describe the condition of vintage glass. The phrase"mint" is often the word used by sellers and there are rarely any examples of glass that fall into this category. To avoid any form of disappointment. I offer a liberal returns policy. Examination is the only method of meeting your personal expectations and in that light, it reduces the need to pull out a microscope, which I cannot do. Glass collectors have individual opinions and criterion for acquiring glass for an individual collection. Almost all old glass shows signs of usage. Newman's book. An Illustrated Dictionary of Glass, does not include the word"mint" and neither can"mint" ... morebe found in any of the books in my reference library. In my opinion, the word"mint" should be a term that is never used by glass collectors. Expecting a mint piece in glassware that is true vintage isn't realistic. Therefore. It is not a suitable term for collectible glassware. All previously owned examples of glassware will take on imperfections that were evident at the very moment that it was sold as new and hand made glassware will always have imperfections in the glass such as small seeds or blisters, even bubbles. A common-sense approach to grading condition is to trust the seller and be kind. I would only buy from sellers with a returns policy. The main feature of any piece of glass is the fine work and engraving. Do not discard a piece for reasons of imperfection. Truly antique glass is harder and harder to find over time. While the price of glass dropped in years past. The original Baby Boomer collectors have been moving aside for the Millennials, who are now acquiring these treasures along side of tube-radios and vinyl records. There are Absolutely ZERO Maker’s Marks at all on this Decanter. That issue has made it rather impossible for me to learn anything further about this piece. So. All I know about it is that it is rather old(Early 1900’s at the latest) This Decanter measures 10 ¾”H x 6 ½”W and weighs 3lbs(unpacked) Most of the weight is in the thick base. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item. Condition: On a scale of 1– 10(Ten being MINT/New in Package) I can confidently grade this item’s condition to be a solid 8. Fun tidbit- In ancient Greek and Roman mythology Bacchus was a god of wine and giver of ecstasy. The pressed glass has diamond and elongated oval patterns that have nice reflective quality. There is a tiny enameled white bead decoration above the flowers. Fine gilt lines also decorate the decanter. The top opening is ruffled. There are beautiful vertical glass sections in the glass that make it glimmer. The base has a large. Smooth pontil mark with a small rough spot. Victorian Betjemann's Patent Tantulus Decanter Circa 1890 w 4 antique tags
The Tantulus Walnut Liquor cabinet was made in London in the late 1800's by George Betjemann. Handle with side slide down lock mechanism, fitted with three square cut- glass decanters with faceted stoppers. The brass is stamped" THE TANTULUS" and"BETJEMANN'S PATENT 32203 LONDON" It's purpose was to keep servants and younger sons from" getting in the whiskey" while still allowing them to be on show. The key is missing. The mechanism slides up and down and engages the closed position even without a key. It stays securely closed unless you push the mechanism down firmly. You can Not accidentally lock it.a key is required to do that. The tantalus is 14 inches long 5.5 wide. And stands 12 inches high. There is a plaque(bottom middle) that reads: Mappin& Webb The Poultry London" The decanters are ... moreapprox. 3 and 1/2 inches square and stand 8 and 1/2 inches high. One decanter has noticeable cracking. Please see photo. The other 2 are in good antique condition. The stopper tops are faceted spheres and are 2 inches in diameter. The stopper bottoms show some chip wear due to the age and prior use. Visible in the photographs. Please contact me if you would like more photos. The outer decanters were used for gin. Unusual small English cut glass carafe or decanter, circa 1850
rhusrluk rhusrluk Antique glass in good taste– harmic.little A very attractive English glass decanter of small size with a bulbous body and a long fluted neck of everted form; the body decorated with a series of oval. Slice-cut shapes; circa 1850. This beautiful decanter is, properly-speaking, called a carafe,as it never had a stopper. It was made as a receptacle for decanted wine that needed to'breathe' and was going to be drunk immediately. The small size suggests it may have been used for white dessert wine. The shape is fantastic with a short. Bulbous body and long,f luted, tapering neck. The body has a series of horizontal'slice' cuts while the underside of the base is cut in the form of a star or compass rose. please note: this sale price is for 1 decanter an elegant. Faceted cut crystal carafe, a White Wine Decanter made between 1800 and 1840 in the western part of Europe(in more recent years. After 1850, this type was still made, but then the dripping ring will be at the top of the bottle, or not present at all) the blue-green or green color was special for white wine. Mainly for the Rhine wines, to hide the wine had not always cleared these decanters are all blown on the pipe. Hand formed, cut and polished- with a polished-out pontil all: no cracks.
