ANTIQUE CUT CRYSTAL DECANTER WITH ENAMELED SHERRY CHAIN LABEL MADE IN ENGLAND
ANTIQUE CUT CRYSTAL DECANTER WITH ENAMELED SHERRY CHAIN LABEL MADE IN ENGLAND, ANTIQUE CUT CRYSTAL DECANTER WITH ENAMELED SHERRY CHAIN LABEL MADE IN ENGLAND This Antique Cut Crystal Decanter has no marks or tags and as you can see it is missing its stopper. But I was told it was made sometime around the 1920s, and it now has the Enameled SHERRY Chain Label that was made in England hanging around the neck that also has some age to it, but I do not know for sure when this was added. The decanter is 9 1/2 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches across the flattened rim, 3 7/8 inches across the smooth ground base& approx. 4 1/2 inches across the widest part of the bottle, and the label is 2 3/8 inches wide 2 inches tall& the chain stretches 4 1/2 inches up above the center of the tag. There is what looks like an intentional etched mark or scratch on ... morethe bottom- not like a makers mark but still it seems intentional, there is another small& faint scratch on the bottom that is very hard to see, but otherwise its in very good condition, no other chips, cracks, other scratches, stains, inside or out, or water marks to the decanter or any damage to the Sherry Label. Very fine set is of the fine quality crystal, embellished with gilded decoration. The decanter features a ruffled rim, edged in gilding, terminating to a slender neck with flared body. Retains hand blown, hollow inside stopper, topped by a gilded star. Marked on the base of the stopper with the number VIIII, corresponding with the same number on the decanter base. The cordials are unmarked. Tray has molded mark'BAR SS' The set is in very good condition throughout for age and type. The mouth blown crystal is clear, beautifully decorated. Gilding is in good order. The decanter stands 11 1/2" high to the top of the stopper, without stopper ... more9 1/4" high; the glasses measure 3 1/2" tall with a 1 3/8" in diameter at the opening. This decanter created c 1840 has stunning etched grape leave vine and grapes design with an armorial and figurals of lion and unicorn and a banner underneath that states“Diet Et Mon Droit” A friendly ebayer indicated these were the Royal Arms used by Queen Victoria of England. It is in excellent condition for its age with only minor scratches and a few chips around the top. I believe this has the armorial for the House of Windsor. The current monarchy of England. It is an excellent historic piece of early glass ware. I have more interesting items listed so please look at my other auctions. Duncan decanter label/tag(Sherry) We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this very nice Ships style liquor decanter with label. This is a very nice vintage cut glass. And polished ships decanter. It comes with a M.E Duncan porcelain label and chain. the label reads"Sherry" The decanter has a dimpled neck, which provides a very good grip. The body of the decanter has a deep cut diamond pattern. The faceted sphere decanter stopper has a very nice fit. This ships decanter stands approximately 11 1/8 inches tall. It is approximately 7 1/8 inches in diameter at the widest point, the star cut base is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter, and this decanter weighs approximately 3 pounds 5 ounces. Condition- The overall condition of this decanter ... moreis very good. There are no chips. Cracks, or fractures. There is what looks to be some very light calcium build up on the interior? There are one or two very, very slight scratches on the facets of the stopper. Unfortunately there is no indication of the maker of this decanter. ANTIQUE LEAD CRYSTAL SHERRY LIQUOR DECANTER & 6 CORIAL STEMMED GLASSES
The decanter with stopper stands 9.5" in height. The cordials or sherry glasses are about 5" in height. All in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. All pieces have a beautiful ring. I have not been able to identify the pattern and maker, but it's similar to the St. Louis Chantilly pattern, and also Dublin Godinger's signature pattern and other styles produced by well-known crystal producers like Waterford and Baccarat. It's high quality crystal- six stems and one decanter with stopper.
