An absolutely stunning decanter made of wheel-cut class with a pewter overlay. The design work is intricate with a floral and foliate design that's very much in keeping with the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The decanter is in amazing condition with no wear or damage that I could see. My guess is that this piece was made in Czechoslovakia or Austria. Not sure of an exact age on the piece. But I suspect that it originated at some point in the late 19th/early 20th Century. Antique Handmade Art Nouveau Deco Copper Cut Glass Bottle RARE Liquor Decanter
For your consideration. An incredible vintage/antique piece of Mexican art glass with a cut and carved copper wrap. This is a one of a kind piece. It is absolutely beautiful. It measures 6" to the top of the copper wrap, 7.5" to the top of the bottle, and 3.75" square. The bottle underneath is a vintage or antique cut glass bottle. The diamond shaped cuts are up all 4 sides, and border the bottom of the bottle. It looks like a late 19th century/ early 20th century bottle. One of the four glass panels has an oval of uncut, clear glass where perhaps a label once went. I consider this the front of the bottle. Wrapped around this thick, heavy, glass bottle is a truly incredible solid copper wrap that has been hand cut, and hand carved, or engraved. The pattern is Art Nouveau natural floral forms, with vines, leaves, and flowers. ... moreThe pattern, while the same picture on all four sides, is nonetheless completely hand made as evidenced by the variations in the cuts from one side to the next. The copper wrap stops at the base of the neck of the bottle, and folds over the bottom of the bottle about 1/3" The bottle does NOT come out in any way that I can manage. The mouth of the bottle is 2.25" in diameter, and would look perfect with either a cork made to fit, or a cut glass or colored glass stopper. I would be tempted to have a local glass artist make a dichroic glass stopper for this exquisite bottle. The only marks are a C on the bottom of the glass bottle, and"Hecho En Mexico" imprinted into the copper where it folds over the bottom of the glass. This piece is rare, and an amazing piece of art in both the glass and copper. I have never seen one like this before, although there are many in silver from that time period. For my protection, and to keep the bottle intact, I will double box this item, and it must ship Priority 2 Day. This is an American emerald green glass decanter and stopper with silver overlay. Circa 1900. The decanter has a 4 sided square shaped tapering body, straight neck and rim with v-spout. The stopper is truncated cone with short and tapering plug. The silver overlay(probably sterling) is an engraved trellis and fruiting grapevine. The rim has a silver collar and the stopper top has a solid silver over the top. The decanter measures 9" tall to the top of the stopper. 4 1/2" square and weighs 3 pounds 8 ounces. Up for auction here is a very fine antique Art Nouveau era mold blown ruby or cranberry glass decanter. The glass has been transfer printed in gold then hand painted with raised applied enamel in several colors. The scene depicts a white goose and duck in a pond with plants behind them. The glass has mold form whiplashing. Indicative of the Art Nouveau era. The handle was hand molded and applied. The stopper is hand blown, with ground bottom. It has an large internal bubble and is topped with an applied raspberry prunt. The underside of the decanter has a polished pontil with the design numbers 165 acid etched and the hand painted artisan number 4. This is done in the Moser glass style and likely hails from the Czech Bohemian areas circa 1890. And has paint-wear but, I'm listing it because it still has much of it's display value and I think it could be readily restored. Or the piece could be displayed, as it is, with your choice of side exposed. Though the hand-painted floral decoration(originally applied to one side only) has seen better days. I'm told the paint work could be restored-or removed-to bring this up to a higher level. The lower attachment strap for the handles is missing. But does not ... moreinterfere with the display. It does, however, render the handles incapable of operating as designed. You can still see the evidence of the missing ferrous strap across the lower portion. NOTE: The handles are now only for display value and cannot be used to safely lift the container! There is an original hole-with washer-that was the site of a petcock. Or spout/spicket/spigot for drink dispensing. The petcock is missing and the washer/seal is dried up, so it would need both for it to function as a liquid vessel again. This Claret Jug type piece has a green glass jug that is about 8.5" tall and about 6.5" wide in the middle and sits on a base about 3.75" in diameter.The pewter work on this piece is gorgeous with lions heads and rings through the bottom of them around the circumference ... moreon 2 levels. Elegant. Well-made intaglio engraved art glass decanter. Stunning cased and cut bell shaped decanter with hand-cut Art Nouveau decor. By Famosa LPW in Vienna. Austria. Circa 1920s- 1930s. We believe the LPW stands for Local Public Works. This decanter does not bear the original sticker. The exact form, different colors, has been documented with the Famosa label. Double overlay results in 3 layers of glass. Inner layer is milk white. Center layer is light amber/yellow, outer layer is dark amber/chestnut. The artist cut through the outer layer to the center layer to produce decor. The white and amber layers produce the"caramel" color. In excellent condition and the stopper is original to the bottle. ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU CUT GLASS& ORNATE PEWTER VINTAGE CLARET JUG DECANTER A beautiful. Circa 1900, cut glass claret with pewter lid, handle and applied wreath. It has a cut glass pattern of stars and stripes. The pewter spout, hinged lid, handle, and wreath are very ornate. It measures approximately 11" tall x about 5 1/4" in diameter at the base. It is not marked as to the maker. This lovely claret is in good condition. There are no chips or cracks to the glass. There is only minor cloudiness and only a couple of spots of sediment on the inside(see photo, I have not tried to clean it) The pewter still looks good and has not been polished. The wreath of flowers has a lighter spot that looks like something got on it or where it was soldered or repaired(I'm not sure what it is) Under magnification, it appears to have a separation ... morewhere the handle meets the wreath but it still feels tight(I'm not sure what's going on there but it still looks great! Antique art deco glass decanter blue glass & copper pewter art nouveau dispenser
This decanter exemplifies true artisanship. Full of grace, artful curves and sublime detail rendered in blue glass, pewter and copper. It evokes art nouveau/art deco styling. And incorporates an array of interesting geometric shapes and different textures. The soft, watery blue tint to the glass and the feminine curves of the handle give it a feeling of warmth, especially when the decanter is lighted to the side or from behind. We wish we knew more about this estate sale find. The basics of age and its maker are unknown. Too bad: We'd love to give proper credit to its creator. There is what appears to be 1877 crudely scratched onto the metal in two places on the inside of the lid. The decanter stands about 13 1/2 inches tall. Measured with its copper cap on(it seems to once have had a finial that's gone missing over the years) It's ... more10 inches across the pewter handles and the conical-shaped copper base rises about 4 1/2 inches and measures about 5 inches across the base. There's a wood spigot with a wood peg stopper. Both of which have been painted a complementary deeper blue. The decanter weighs 3 pounds. 12 ounces. Beautiful blue glass decanter has wear and slight surface scratches in glass and on metal(some tarnish. Too) There is a chip in the glass under the lid. There appear to be bubbles in the glass from when it was crafted. There is a wooden spigot painted a deeper blue that may or may not have been original to this piece. There may have been a finial on its lid, we are unsure.
