It is in absolutely beautiful estate condition with only very light, trace signs of edge wear with a couple very tiny edge flecks which are barely felt. The underside shows authentic age appropriate wear from normal use, as shown in the photos. There are NO cracks, NO repairs and NO restorations. The style of the butter tub is Georgian and it was likely made in the United Kingdom.

RARE 1770s IRISH SET 4 STERLING SILVER& COBALT SALTS Presented is a handsome. ... moreRare, and superb quality set of 4 sterling silver open salt cellars. The large oval shaped salt cellars are raised on four legs terminating in claw and ball feet. The bodies of the salts are pierced to reveal the brilliant cobalt blue cut glass liners underneath. Each salt has an elegant gadrooned rim. A cartouche on the side of the salts is engraved with a crest of a dragon's head. It is quite unusual to find a set of four Irish sterling silver master saltcellars. Well over 200 years old and all by the same maker, in the same pattern, with the same hallmarks. The salts are all marked with the seated Hibernia for sterling silver. The crowned harp for the city of Dublin, and the maker's mark of WB for William Bond who was active during the second half of the 18th century. The hallmark around the crowned harp exactly outlines the harp. This particular hallmark was used in 1786 and earlier. All of the four sterling silver salts in this set were made in 1786 or earlier, probably the 1770s. The salts are in excellent condition. The silver has no dents. No dings, no breaks, and no repairs. There are a few small splits to the silver on a couple of the salt cellars. We have shown the worst of these splits in the fifth photograph. Despite these small splits, the silver is structurally sound, and the salts are still perfectly useable. All of the glass liners have a star cut under the base. All of these liners are old. Three of them appeared to be original, the fourth is certainly a very old replacement. A few small chips might have been ground down on the liners over the past 230 years, but certainly nothing major and nothing that can be seen in a photograph. The cut glass liners are in superb condition with no chips, no cracks, and no breaks. The salts are 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 inches and stand 1 3/4 inches tall. Pr.English/Irish Cut Glass Decanters,Mushroom Tops 1810
This is a matched pair but there are some slight differences. One decanter stands 9.25" the other is 9 3/16" without tops. They are 8.25" and 8 1/16" One is 4 1/16" across the bottom and the other is 4 3/16" One bottle has a flake chip on the bottom rim as shown. Same one that has a bubble in the bottom as shown. It also has two flakes on the mushroom top on two points of the edge. The other bottle has a couple of small nicks in the horizontal ribbing on the top as shown. There are several of the diamond points on each bottle that have pinhead chips on their points. The only damage that shows without inspecting them is the chip on the bottom rim. Antique Anglo Irish Cut Glass Decanter Shape Curet Bottle. The round stopper with a V cut star pattern. Fitting into a round flat rim with a panel cut sloping shoulder over a band of diamond cut design. Over two horizontal cut bands and with vertical V cuts on the lower body. The underside polished flat. In good condition with several small chips to the stopper. Some small nicks to the panel cuts and diamond band. A vertical chip to one of the V cuts on the lower section. The underside scratched with small nicks at the edge. None of those detract. Anglo Irish. Early to mid 19th century. Measures 4 5/8" high. 1 3/4" diameter at base approx. This auction is for a very nice early 19th century Anglo Irish three ring fine cut glass decanter circa 1810-20. This nice piece purchased from a very prominent Washington D.C. estate. This auction is for the pair.But one is sadly damaged,So I am offering a non damaged decanter and an"AS-IS" decanter for the same money! This is an excellent example of a pre-Regency decanter. Obviously it decorated with the typical three ring neck,with the hand cut/etched sprigs,and mushroom stopper,see pictures) It measures 8 1/2" tall. This excellent Irish cut glass decanter was made during the end of Georgian period around 1810-20. It is in good condition,with surface abrasions to the body,stopper edges and very bottom for over 200 years of use! BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE cut glass decanter and stopper- LOOKS Irish- nicely cut band!!
This decanter could be even older than 1850. But I really can't date it accurately, except to say it's very old I'm guessing 1920's AT LEAST. It's beautiful cut crystal and has an intricately cut band going around the upper central portion where your hand grabs it to pour. Then large cut ovals above and below this band. It's topped off with a dazzling HUGE cut glass knob topped stopper. The decanter without the stopper measures 8 1/4" high, and the stopper measures just shy of 4" long. CONDITION: A relatively small nick in the upper lip of the decanter, numerous fleabites and nicks on the base of the stopper, some very light clouding on some sections of the interior, can totally still see through the glass, some colored liquid in it and I believe it would disappear. I felt all the way around the diamond cut ... moreband about three times and felt nothing, and I see nothing on that. The flat base has numerous light scratches commiserate with age and use. The stopper has 3 or 4 small bubbles in the glass, and there are a few in the glass of the decanter as well. I see no signature or maker's mark. This is a great addition to the cocktail table, cart or tray, with some kind of amber colored liquid in it would be ideal. It's a very solid, masculine piece. And again, age wise I'm guessing, I think my pictures came out kind of washed out I don't know yet how much detail you can see against the pink wall. Please scroll down the page to see additional photographs of this item. c1790s PAIR of ANGLO-IRISH 3 RING CUT GLASS DECANTERS/ CUT CRYSTAL DECANTERS Presented is a very fine quality pair of antique English or Irish cut crystal or cut glass decanters. These pieces were made the last quarter of the 1700s or in the early 1800s. They are a traditional three ring style decanter and they are very well-made. The three rings have all been polished into circular bands instead of cut. And they did a great job. The spaces between the rings and just under the bottom ring is panel cut. The bottom edge has nice groove cuts. The underside have polished pontils. The stoppers have star cut mushroom cap tops and fit well enough, although not perfectly in the decanters. The condition is excellent. There is a lot of wear to the bottom of the decanters. Just ... morethe kind you'd like to see in an old pair like this. One stopper has had a chip to the underside, which has been smoothed out, and the stopper still works. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no other chips and no repairs. The height to the top of the stopper is between 9 3/4 and 10 1/8 inches. The maximum diameter of the body is about 4 5/8 inches. Good luck and bid with confidence. Finely crafted, each bottle of mallet form with faceted step-cut neck rings and paneled shoulder; the body cut with field of diamonds. Unmarked, the mushroom stoppers cut with 28 point star, the bases with 32 point star. Dimensions: Each: 9.5" high x 4.375" diameter. Total Weight: 4.8 lbs. Condition: Overall. Here is a wonderful pair of matching antique cut glass decanters. They measure 8.5" to top of decanter and 11" to very top with stopper. Base is 3" wide. They feature a beautiful cut neck. And etching around bulbous part of decanter. These are in great condition; I found no flaws. The stoppers and decanter necks have matching numbers.
